They Rock!! Great service! They made it all so easy

Great service from the team. Very quick responses and advice. Any queries you have from googling deductions that may be available they advise whether applicable or not. Respond quickly to all questions you may have as well. Team can all speak English which is a bonus for expats living in Spain. 1st year using them and 100% better than my last tax advisor who took 2 weeks to answer queries etc! Definitely give them a go. Personal thanks to Daniela for her great service.

Great service, was very responsive and helped me throughout the process. I had a lot of questions and it took me a while to understand all the implications but they were very patient and explained all the situations.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - they first fool you to think that with the Essential Full plan it's enough to fill your tax declaration, and after you pay it, they tell you: ops, we realised that you also have some investment, so now you need to pay 149 to the another "investor plan".
I talked with customer support to ask if they can help me to only review my plan without the part of investment and the answer was: since we already receive the information from the tax agency that you have some investment, we can't change your plan to do that parcial review. Funny enough, if you already know so much, why do you even allow me to select and pay a plan that is not according to my profile?!

Be careful if you decide to pay extra to have the "24 hours service" they offer. They sell you a service by Whatsapp that doesn't exist. As soon as you try contacting them there, you will be talking to someone who instead of helping you, keeps on telling you haven't paid for the service and that you have to access WhatsApp with your email that you used on your taxdown account. The only thing is that there is no way for you to access to the whatsapp conversation with your email, and the person behind their Whatsapp doesn't seem to understand that.

Super simple and easy

I've learned about TaxDown because my bank, N26, offered a discount to their services. I decided to try it. After a chat with their support, I learned that for my situation, I had to pay for their Full plan. The plan was listed as 99€ / year and it was 60€ with the discount I got. My wife, who got to know the service through me, also made a separate account.

After that I gave them my data, which was pretty much just an earnings sheet from my company. I already found a bit distasteful to find out that all they had to do was to fill in 3 numbers from my earnings sheet in the right places, but ok, the reason you pay is that you don't have to spend time learning which are the right places to fill in. And still, it doesn't match their own description of the plans on the website. Their 45€/year LIVE plan handles crypto and real state property declarations, and they sent me to the most expensive plan to handle the simplest possible version of the special tax regimen, so I still felt a bit cheated by that.

Then it comes the fact that on reviewing both my wife's and my tax return preparation, there were glaring mistakes in our personal information, address, etc. If you can't trust a tax service to handle pretty much copy paste details reliably, how could I ever trust them to handle more complicated cases in the future? And that's their FULL plan which normally costs 99€ / year.

Or does it? Imagine my surprise when I checked the plan choice page again and suddenly, in the space of a couple of weeks, the price was now showing 199€ / year. In one of my complaint emails to them I asked that "if I now closed and forgot about TaxDown now until next year's declaration, would I be suddenly charged 199€ on renewal" when I originally subscribed to a plan costing 99€? They offered no comment on that.

But lo and behold. Luckily today my wife was telling me about a tax advisor that a friend recommended and I remembered to check if I did actually cancelled my TaxDown subscription. When I logged in, what did I see? I'm subscribed to the FULL plan, for 199€ a year! Amazing! Sneaky price change with absolutely no warning whatsoever. And when trying to cancel it, they still offered me this BS on how by cancelling my annual plan, I would miss out on 54 days of benefits! Oh, please, illuminate me on how TaxDown can benefit me the whole year, when the tax declaration happens once a year? And to think I once paid 8 euros for a tax submission in a very helpful self service in Germany, that offers translation to English, suggestions on how to get savings, etc, for much more complicated cases than that. And they charge per submission! Which makes sense! Annual subscription for something you do once a year and claiming that you will reap the benefits the whole year, is just a soft lie.

I wrote a lot of complaints to them about this whole situation, I replied to their feedback forms and all. The only think I heard back was "I'm so sorry you have this perception about our service, hope we can work hard to change it!" without actually offering any means of explanation about the shady prices, not offering 1 cent of money back after making a botch job of the simplest tax declaration there is.

I was ready to leave this behind, but the fact that they would sneak charge me for double the price I originally signed up for, had I taken 54 days more to remember checking it, made me really mad.

My experience with TaxDown has been very positive overall. The app and website are modern and functional. The customer support have been superb: very quick to respond, friendly, and helpful. My situation was a little more complicated and my assigned agent Eduardo went the extra mile to patiently answer my questions every time. Very happy customer! thanks Eduardo!

I explained all my situation and they were able to explain and guide me with lots of details. Also, as I got the full plan they did all on my behalf.

Few emails and my yearly taxes declaration was issued... Highly appreciate the team.

Good service and the easiest way to make tax declaration. will use it again!

Not a lot happened after paying for the "Live" plan hoping to get assistance reporting crypto and stocks PNL.

I had doubts about whether I should take action on some small incomes regarding royalties and they didn't clear any of the doubts.

The platform is OK, but it's a pain to report investing gains and losses. Please provide a better way than manually introducing every movement, it's painstaking.

I invest in USD, but the platform only supports EUR. You will need to manually convert all the data with what you'll hope is the same exchange rate they are using - it's not shown anywhere.

Finally, you don't get a lot of options to request tax benefits. Still waiting for a chat response after 3 hours.

I ended up not using the benefits of the platform after having paid for that (around 50€) and manually doing my tax returns.

Will ask for a refund although their T&Cs don't allow for that.

In conclusion, the platform is good looking but its functionality could be improved immensely. Hoping for the best for the next iteration.
