Do not use Origin

Do not use Origin. I purchase off Amazon at a cost of £44 for Sims 4. The code had already been redeemed. In other words the codes that are sold have been hacked. It is just awful.

WAY TOO BAD I need to register an account in Origin if I purchased the game on Steam. It shouldn't work like this. If I forget a password or something happen to Origin, I won't be able to play from my Steam account.
Only 1 star for this.

Buggy Mess, just like everything EA touches

Horribly buggy mess of a gaming platform, just like everything else EA touches.

The platform downloads games and patches at the pace of old people fu*king. I normally download at a rate between 20-30mbps, Origin downloads at 2-5mbps.

Complete trash, avoid it if your game is available on Steam or another platform.

Email change without my permission

Without my permission, someone changed my email address for the login.
1st: How is this possible?
2nd: All the support offers is a password reset. But that does OBVIOUSLY not work as the rest goes to the other email which is not mine anymore.

Why did you do that?
There is a lot of money there, in games.

Absolutely Asinine

Absolutely terrible platform that has no reason for existing besides EA's own sense of entitlement. Horribly optimized, terrible server management, and a complete lack of support features. I'd rather pirate every EA game in the future than pay for them and be forced to use the Origin Store and platform. EA has 100% lost me as a customer by forcing me to use this garbage.

Origin is a double-dealing company that should be SUED!!!

I bought my Sims 3 games before Origin existed. I've spent hundreds of pounds on them and can only play them now on Origin! I've bought games from Origin which although they recognize that I've bought them, they don't show up in my games inventory and they won't recognize a code that I put in from a game that I bought legally, telling me that my code is INVALID!!! What??? I think that Origin should be taken to court by all of us customers who have been done over by them and sued for the total amount of money that we've spent on buying games that we can no longer play! At the moment, I can't play my Sims 3. It just won't launch. The company says it's having some issues that it's trying hard to sort out. EA Games and Origin have to be the worst companies in existence! How are they allowed to steal all this money from us without ANY legal intervention? I just don't get it! If they were taken to court and ordered to repay ALL of the money that they've stolen from us, they'd soon find a way to fix their 'problems!' I want my money back for ALL my Sims 3 games that I've bought and yet are still apparently owned by EA games and Origin's double-dealing companies.

Awfull company.

Awfull company.

This company is not obeying the consumer act, be warned.

So today I wanted to logon since years on Origin and it said I couldn't.

After having alot of conversations back and fourth with the staff chat it seems that I opted in for a account removal.

But I cannot remember that I ever did opted in for an account deletion, my email was not compromised, so how?

I started to ask further if this was done by mail, and how they go into the steps of verifying the ownership of the sent email, then this employee tried to mirror the conversation that it is my own responsibility to protect my email... no... my question was cleary: did they checked the SPF headers in such an mail as routine?

guess what the result was?

the conversation got closed, I got banned to ever talk with the chat again because I asked for a supervisor, and my account can't be restored ever again.

this whole company seems like a fraud, they just rug pulled me because they couldn't even properly verify a sent email which was probably done as herassment to shutdown my account, and they couldn't give me back my money or restore my games.

luckily I only had a few games on this platform... imagine if this happened on steam.

I also redirected my message to OLAF and a few other organisations, this is a terrible company and non consumer friendly and very neglectfull, and a traumatic experience.

often I'm positive about origin and EA…

often I'm positive about origin and EA games.

but now I'm very disappointed about their service.

What annoys me the most is that its all about quantity over security and this proofs my issues with this company again.

Yes, you could shadow ban ip addresses and remove contact forms from your website and act like there is a outtage, but haven't you ever question yourself as a company why a gamer would hide his/her ip address in the first place?

most of them use a VPN to secure themselves from online games, rather than using it to get cheap games, this is a discussion or narrative I hear lots of CEO's talk about also in other companies, but again this only proofs the greed of the company to not think about the security first, its not the consumers duty to deal with internal problems about what a CEO or a company thinks, when it is about money issues, its our job as consumer to have security and quality and being entertained, it's very unprofessional if you think about this altitude EA, please change that and think for the consumers.

Doesn't let me use the games I bought

Doesn't let me use the games I bought. I bought the entire collection of Command and Conquer - SUPER EXCITED!! The games worked for a little while... but then I was signed out of my account. Took forever to get back into my account, it was not recognizing the correct info or email. Eventually I solved that headache, signed back in, and launched my games. It doesn't recognize the games... Gives me BS crash tooltips every single time. Customer support sent me about half a dozen possible fixes. Tried them ALL, and they ALL failed. Very upset with the amount of time I've wasted trying to make this engine work for me. Not to mention the money they sucked up. It's like a vending machine that keeps taking your quarters without ever realizing it's received your quarters.

Simply a trash launcher

Simply a trash launcher.
It auto uninstalled my games couple of times, but then the launcher somehow uninstalled the main app and I wasn't able to uninstall or reinstal Origin at all.
Hard pass on any Origin games.
