posting this again because my review got flagged and deleted, I guess that's one way to silence complaints.

Not only is the Origin client missing simple functions like finding preinstalled origin games it also breaks several game titles and makes them unplayable. A recent example would be Star Wars Battlefront 2, if the Origin ingame overlay is enabled the game won't accept keyboard input.
Furthermore the origin client is prone to chrashing and freezing, also server issues are a constant problem. (log in not possible)
For two weeks now my origin client has stopped working entirely and will only show pulsating grey boxes instead of Menus and text.

Absolutely garbage. EA commits fraud.

Every time I try running a mod on battle front 2 it will work and what happens but origin comes to the fore ground and closes it. Its almost as if they are taunting me that I cannot load mods with battlefront anymore. The same mod was working not that long ago. I tried updating the mod and frosty mod manager and it keeps on doing the same thing. If this is some marketing ploy to make themselves even more proprietary than they should look at the reviews they get. I know that EA gets a lot of hate today and honestly it is well deserved. I've never had to spend 6 hours on trying to load mods on any game. EA need to realize that being configurable is the way today. Very disappointed. The only reason why I even use origin is because it is required to run Star Wars Battlefront 2.

I can't even begin to describe how much I hate Origin and EA. I bought a copy of the Sims 4 on Steam years ago and have recently been trying to download a copy on my Macbook, and it has been difficult. Origin recognizes my copy, but it's a Windows-only version since it was bought through Steam, so I cannot download the program or buy a different copy. I tried contacting customer support only to be directed to a total of 3 different totally useless operators who were clearly not able to speak English well because EA is so cheap and outsources their labor. None of them could help me because the support system is garbage and there's no real way to follow up if the first email an operator sends you doesn't contain a working solution to your problem. I hate Origin and I hate EA.

How come every game store shows users the prices of the games except Origin? They are pushing their subscription model so hard they no longer show the prices of games. Even when the games are more cheap then a month of subscription.

To create an account you must to complete a captcha with 20 steps! After this captcha, this say "there is an error, can you retry." But i can't retry because all the interface is bad.

Please use steam or epic game to escape this bad website.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I’m having issues with transferring origin from my old lap top to my new and I’m getting nowhere in the 3 days since I reached out for customer support. All I want is to access the sims and I have had 5 different emails asking for the same info from 5 different people. Get it together origin I’ve spent a LOT on sims games over the years and you can’t even give the common courtesy of a real person to help me solve this problem in a timely manner?!

30 years ago I bought via EA Games all the Command & conquer games, and several Need for speed and some others. Some years after Origin started, you could not anymore access your games, without paying type of rent - for your personally owned games.... ! This is abusive, thievery, unacceptable. I demand all invested money returned, and will never again make use of EA Games / Origin. How can such practice be accepted worlwide ???

I only play the Sims and NO OTHER EA games. That is partially due to the violence in the other games, lack of interest and lack of customer service with the Sims. Yes they have made a ton of money off of the Sims and each year they concoct upgrades to maintain their control over the game. When I first purchased my Sim games they were install and play. But EA and Origin figured out how to continue sapping money from the players and gaining so much control over the game. Each upgrade crashes the game and now customer service is by EMAIL and it takes up to 72 hours to get a response. How long are they going to continue robbing players?

I bought Command & Conquer™ The Ultimate Collection, the games always crash, it does not save properly most of the time, and the software freezes and crashes as well, this is an absoulte joke, do yourself a favour use steam

Garbage.
I wanted to play a game DA:I in a language (French) that's not my country's (which basically every launcher offers, even barebones barely sufficient launchers like EGS, it's honestly so basic). I was a bit concerned before installing as the language option in question didn't appear, so I checked with one of the EA people via live chat, who guaranteed that I would be able to access the language.
Surprise: I couldn't. So I requested a refund as this is false advertising. Told I was ineligible as my version was region locked and never supposed to have that language! Sometimes customer service people make mistakes, it happens, but to then make the customer suffer for that is ridiculous.
Just avoid Origin, it's pretty much as bad as people as say it is. The nerve of EA to make its games only available on such trash is ridiculous.

Edit1:trying to resolve this with their customer service is painful. Full on reading off a script, definitely seems like it's outsourced to another country but might be wrong, often not great command of English regardless.
2 times so far different agents have just ended the live chat without warning because they couldn't be bothered to actually give a useful response.

Edit2: Just confirming still not resolved, 30/3/23. Origin is an insanely massive red flag for a game for me from now on.

Beware of EA. They have a track record of ignoring their customers. I forgot the password and when I logged in it wanted to send a confirmation code to my email address. The only problem was I was not receiving it, checked spam and junk as well. Chatted with a rep that essentially stated they could not help and I should create another account. Huh? So I should create another account and buy my games all over again? Nice try.

BEWARE!! This company is AWFUL! I never purchased from them. I don't even play games!! They just started charging my bank account...4 charges in January and one is March. I told them I NEVER opened an account with them, yet they said they can't help me unless I give them an account number. WHAT?!? Then they wanted my my bank card number - the first 6 numbers and the last 4! SERIOUSLY!! They said without it, they can't help me. I'm reporting them to my bank and putting a block on. Sounds very fishy to me...TERRIBLE!

Really buggy and awful place.
Sometimes it wont launch games for some reason, wont log in, cannot purchase a game, or even send an error report to get help with some of the many problems.
Waste of time and money.
Never had any of those problems with Steam.

I so bad cant do nothing doesnt even let me play with my controller on bluetooth. USE STEAM INSTEAD!?!?!?

it is impossible to log into this app all I want to do is play sims 4 ! I have payed it will not download even looked up videos on how to log in on YouTube still doesn't work what a waste of money that I won't be able to get back DO NOT DOWNLOAD
