World of Books - Sell Your Books Reviews 

Frustrating app, I have books I want to get rid of, but not for peanuts...
And every time I send a batch in, lo and behold previous books I have s banned, boom, boom, boom, usually the first 3 or 4 straight in..
And then it stops, and ridiculous prices come up on my bookshelf items, also some perfectly good books have been refused but never returned.
I have got rid of books but I need better..

Awful service on every level:
Multiple times the courier didn't turn up to pick up the books, had to rebook several times.
I have CCTV footage to prove that the driver parked up outside our house, took a photo then drove off without coming to the door.
Attempting to contact World of Books is a joke because they use AI bots, not humans, to answer any queries. So simple requests like 'please book collection for after the 22nd, I will not be at home for the rest of this week' got the response 'OK great - I've booked collection for the 18th'. Absolute joke.
The app is full of glitches - it scans the QR code, adds the book to the basket, then says it can't accept it. So when you don't send it, you get an email breakdown saying that book wasn't received.
They pay literally pennies for the books, I understand they are a business, but they are clearly making good money out of this. I had hundreds of books to get rid of, but after three dreadful experiences with World of Books, I donated all of them to the National Trust. It's not worth the stress of dealing with this company to get £18 for 50+ books.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone - give your books to a charity shop instead!

Tried to use this service with a referral code to receive an additional £5 on a £10 sale. The code resulted in an error saying there is a delay processing my award and that World of Books would contact me by email, which of course they didn’t.

I contacted the support function who asked various rounds of questions, apparently to try to identify the person who referred me. I provided all the requested info but eventually the support team stopped replying to my emails, despite me following up twice.

As a result, I haven’t been able to use my referral code. It leads you to wonder if they didn’t actually want the code to work, and hope that I will just sell the books without receiving the offered incentive

Pros: Actually, this was my first time using the service. It was convenient and fast.
All I had to do was print out the shipping label and dropped it off at the near shipping center.
I will definitely be using their service to selling my many books.

Cons: Payment was the only thing that I didn’t like. Only allow two options paper check mailed out and PayPal. Other than that, my first experience was greatly

Trite but true - the system does exactly what it says it will do. Method and simplicity combine to deliver.

Appreciated the fact that I could sell some of much loved books & world of books made it easy to do so with scan feature on the app & a shipping label you could print
However it took awhile for me to get my check

Great experience

It was nice to unload my books. It made me sad to see the price that I received for them. They were all in like new condition.

I’ve sold my books a number of times to World of Books. Never had a problem and the money has been paid to my account without issue. The app is really easy to use and you can get your parcel collected from home or drop it off to a collection point.

It was an easy transaction and the drop-off and printer was easy to use.

The amount for the books was as expected and gave me some much needed bookshelf space!

It took awhile to process my books, I reached out with a few questions because it was my first time, I didn't receive any replies. The rest was great! I'll be selling a lot more books.

Easy to navigate

It was so quick and easy to use the app. I printed the prepaid label and shipped the books, then received my payment. Very smooth.

Again you have a table, which is not part of website info, that tells how many boxes we are ‘allowed’ and we cannot request additional boxes after that for our order. 40 paperbacks for two boxes is not the same as a trade of 40 paperbacks, hardcovers, coffee table or oversized books in a trade. Frustrating and disappointing …

Scanning and packing books was easy, as was the home collection. However during the checking process 2 books were missed and I was informed they hadn’t been received, which was untrue. Problem was rectified when I complained.

Very easy experience! I would definitely do again.

It was fast and easy to get rid of the books I no longer need. Now I have money to buy new books.
