DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE
DO NOT RENT HERE…I had a very disappointing experience renting a car from Right Cars.
When I returned the vehicle after a week long rental, I was informed that there was a small scratch, approximately half an inch in size, and was told the vehicle would need to be taken to a repair shop. The car had no dents, no signs of an accident, and absolutely no damage that would indicate any significant impact occurred during my rental period.
What made the situation even more uncomfortable was my interaction with the rental representative. During the rental process, he repeatedly made personal advances toward me, gave me his phone number, and appeared upset when I did not contact him. This behavior was unprofessional and created an uncomfortable environment.
Driving on the island naturally exposes rental vehicles to normal wear and tear. Even visiting popular destinations such as Mullet Bay Beach can involve rough roads and parking areas. Minor cosmetic marks can occur despite a driver's best efforts, especially during a week-long rental. Rental companies should distinguish between normal wear and tear and actual damage.
My experience left me feeling that the scratch issue was handled unfairly and that the company was overly focused on finding reasons to charge customers for minor issues. Many travelers choose smaller rental companies because their rates are often lower than larger companies such as Hertz. However, my experience left me with the impression that some of those savings may be offset by aggressive damage claims for what appears to be normal wear and tear.
To make matters worse, the company charged my credit card $195 without contacting me beforehand to discuss a repair charge or provide any documentation. I will requested an itemized receipt, photographs of the alleged and proof that the repair was actually completed. As a customer, I believe it is reasonable to expect transparency and supporting documentation before being charged for damages.
I strongly encourage future renters to thoroughly document the vehicle's condition with detailed photos and videos both before and after the rental period. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering other rental companies before choosing Right Cars.
Car had service light on and damages that weren't recorded
Car had service light on, i.e. service wasn't perfomed.
It had multiple scuffs and dents that weren't logged on the contract and all responsibility has handed over to customer to record in addition to the fact that the car was handed over at night without proper light, when returned there was a dent smaller than 1 cm that wasn't captured due to this, barely being visible in broad daylight. Explanation of damages/cost was not made properly, making it sound like if it was only above 3cm it would have been a problem, when it fact there was a whole price list for different sizes. When damage was recorded it wasn't done properly, no measurement recorded on the other size, I couldn't even see the dent. Not worth it
No problems, recommend.
I couldn’t find the meeting point at the airport at first. When I rang them, I was told that someone would be waiting for me in the arrivals hall, and that was exactly the case. When we were picked up at the airport, the driver took us to the car collection point. There, the car was hired to us online through a video call. We rented the car without having to pay a deposit. There is an additional charge of €70 for an extra driver.
When we returned the car, a member of staff carried out a quick inspection and everything was fine, with no issues at all. We are very pleased with the entire rental process and can genuinely recommend this company.
You’ve been WARNED!
If you book this place from any 3rd party site BEWARE! This place is a SCAMMING MONEY GRAB! Be prepared for Undisclosed fees for insurance even when you have full coverage! Who pays $300 additional after the cost of the rental for ADDITIONAL INSURANCE. This is a low budget rental car company looking to make money however they can. Stay far away!

A word of warning about this car hire place, not to be recommended!
We hired a car through this company, process started well, although night time, car looked in reasonable shape though we did receive confirmation of damage to the car (10 in total, mostly very minor scratches) but upon returning it the agent went straight to a small scratch of around an inch which he said wasn't there before, very suspicious as we hadn't scraped it (of course it is possible it happened without our knowledge).
Given this scratch was so small we were amazed to be charged Euro 345 for this, even though the car was full of these minor scratches & so it was obvious that they never repaired any in any case!
Usually these type of scratches are largely ignored by car hire companies in general as they are purely cosmetic.
In conclusion, ignore the cheap price as i would suggest this branch is purely being operated to maximise profits by charging for pretty non existant damage or trying to get you to pay for their expensive insurance.
Hire from this branch at your peril
Fraud Renat car Company
I had a terrible experience with this rental car company. The contract was misleading, and they charged extra money that was never clearly explained upfront. There was no visible contract to properly review before agreeing, which feels dishonest and deceptive.
Customer service was even worse. There was no live agent available, only a video call system with staff who were disrespectful, unhelpful, and dismissive when I tried to question the charges. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, they acted rude and avoided giving clear answers.
I strongly recommend that no one rent a car from this company. The entire experience felt fraudulent, misleading, and stressful. Save yourself the trouble and choose a company that values honesty, transparency, and respectful customer service.
This place is a SCAM!!
This place is a SCAM!!! You have to take a shuttle bus to their location. Once there, they will say that you need $500k worth of insurance coverage to rent from them. In my case, they stated that it was Priceline's policy to have that amount.
When I told them that I could add the coverage to my current policy they stated that I would have had to have the coverage for at least 3 months. Which makes no sense at all. They tried to get me to pay an additional $567 to purchase this mandatory insurance from them. I declined. And since this place is located off site from the airport I had to take an Uber back to the airport. I ended up renting through Enterprise for $274, with the current insurance coverage I already had. This place advertises a low price through Priceline or other booking site and once they get you with your family and all your luggage away from the airport they try and pressure you into paying these ridiculous high fees to rent from them.
This place had multiple company names running from the same location.
I rented a Kia Picanto or similar
I rented a Kia Picanto or similar, and what i got was sulking swidt that has been in accident, had dirty seats and interior, had about 90000km on odometer. The place is actually outside of terminal not inside. They will pick you up in the car you are renting and drive you to their office outside of terminal to take care of documents.
Good cars, honest, fair and friendly staff
Location: Chania Airport (CHQ) - I can't comment on other franchisees.
Good cars and exceptionally good prices. Explained to me their insurance options, which I declined. They explained the implications of my decision, to make sure there would be no issues if damage were to occur. Note that as per their (and most rental company's) T&Cs, a credit card (not debit) in the name of the driver will be required if the insurance is declined.
On this occasion, there was damage caused during the rental, and the process followed was exactly as they said it would be. They ensured the damage hadn't been present before my rental, even if it hadn't been recorded on the checkout form; this is excellent practice and shows they're honest. Unfortunately, our pick-up video showed that the damage wasn't present and so we were billed for it (according to the schedule of charges presented at pickup. They provided all the paperwork needed to claim the damage fees back from my 3rd party insurance provider. Note that the fees are large, so I definitely recommend taking some form of excess insurance (either from Right Cars, offered at pickup, or a reputable 3rd party).
I've rented from this company & location 3 times now and it's always a pleasure. Its always easy to give a positive review when things go to plan, but even in this instance when there were unforeseen charges they did their best for me and acted honestly and professionally. Will definitely use again.
Ft Lauderdale - RC car rental BEWARE SCAM!!!!!
Ft Lauderdale. Got there, rental done by camera no people around for help. Check in was a nightmare. 1st you have to pay $70 for toll pass even if you have your own. Insisted on a full copy of my at home insurance policy - nobody carries that with them. It's Saturday afternoon & no way to get a copy from Michigan. Had my kids drive to my house & text me a copy, oh but it doesn't have "loss of use" as listed coverage and "additional expense" coverage is not acceptable. Offered to allow me their discounted rate of $40 daily. for 3 weeks Hell no! Then again offered me their super special discounted insurance rate with a major credit card $35 daily. I rented a mid size car & they were going to provide me a KIA. Called Uber paid $100 to drive me to West Palm beach & no car for 3 weeks at this point. Airport shuttle drops you off in the road & nobody helps you drag your luggage up to the building. Now I just noticed my amount quoted on Priceline was $154 and now I see a total cost $302 with no explanation for the additional $150.
NEVER AGAIN - ZERO service
NEVER AGAIN! We arrived at the airport with 45 minutes delay and therefore we came at the desk at 22:01 (one minute after closing time). Therefore RC put an extra 40 euro per car on our booking! We send them a message that our flight was delayed after receiving a message from them. The reason was that she now had to stay until 22:30 but this should be completely the same when arriving at 21:57 which should be 3 minutes before closure. As we had two cars she wanted to charge this on each car. After a long discussion she was willing to do this only on one car. As we did the booking through holiday cars we had to change one booking because of there was a mistake in the payment and they put an additional price of 112 euro! Also one of the cars was more the half empty with gasoline but because of the late hours we had to except. Peoples… never book with this company as they are really ripping you and show ZERO flexibility!
This place is horrendous
This place is horrendous. There’s no live people to talk to. They scam you out of money. Do not use this place under any circumstance. You are better off taking an uber. Paid for the car through Priceline then they charged almost an additional $300. They want a $500 or $700 deposit, try forcing you into buying additional insurance.
One of the worst rental experiences in…
One of the worst rental experiences in my life! Was told in the middle of the night by an operator via computer ( not a live representative) at the rental office that my Tesla insurance is not accepted. Another lady next to me tried picking up her and she was denied as well. Two women with 3 kids ended up not getting cars that they paid for at 1:30 in the morning. By themselves on a parking lot with no cars available to them due to insurance not being accepted ?!?! Terrible customer service!!! Please stay away from RC car rentals!
you would be better off waiting in line…
you would be better off waiting in line at airport for rental, this place had extra fee, hidding fees you don't know about til there.Directions were confusing. It is automated office
Charges absurd junk fees
Charges absurd junk fees. Texas requires a $1.00 insurance verification cost, but these guys charge$50. This fee doesn’t exist anywhere else. I provided proof of insurance already and these guys just pocket $50 from me for showing them the card with that proof. Also required me to pay $20 a day preemptively for Loss of Use coverage. This is an illegal practice and they have to remove this if requested. Do not rent from them, it’ll be cheaper to go with a name-brand company.
Over charged for insurance
The charge on my card was not the deposit, which was returned, but was rather "Super Insurance Coverage." I already had insurance coverage, which I showed them. I was charged an extra $399.95 for 5 days of insurance.
RIGHT CARS MCO airport = SCAM!
Arrived at the Wally ride car lot. Right Cars has a video only checkin for your reservation. After the customer service rep (Karoll) reviewed my auto insurance declaration page (I have full coverage), she stated they require me to purchase an additional auto insurance of $799.00. Right Cars is a scam! $16.99 per day toll fee, which they reduce to $9.99 per day on an 18 day rental. Scam, SCAM! I have started a dispute claim with Priceline and my Credit card to get a refund because they refused to rent me the car as quoted.
Omg where do I start
Omg where do I start, crappy out of the way location from Houston George bush airport, show up to a monitor in a little phone booth. Argued with the virtual attendant for 30 mins that I don’t need or want their extra coverage because I have it already. I ended up just leaving and going back to the major rental agencies, paying double is worth more than the brain damage here
This company is a complete scam
This company is a complete scam. They end up charging you twice or more than original price. They also try to charge you $1000 deposit and force you to take their insurance even if you have your own. They also do not have anyone in person to talk to instead someone comes up on a screen and if they cant answere your questions they just hang up. We were there for 30 min and at least 4 other parties left without a car and found someone else.
Do not deal with these scamers
