Will block your account for days without explanation.
For a bank supposedly designed for small businesses, you should do way better. You have blocked our account several times without explanation, putting our business and our reputation with vendors and contractors at risk.
This has happened several times for no good reason. They didnt even send an email. Out of nowhere, transactions are blocked and support can't event tell us why. Escalating to compliance takes forever leaving us in the dark while we try to explain why we can't make payments.

Convenient, and customer service with a real person is always nearby.

This is the third time Relay has pulled the rug out from under its business customers by switching international wire partners with no seamless transition. The latest situation is a complete disaster: all three of our accounts are blocked from sending AND receiving international wires because Nium applications are "pending" — yet the platform won't let us apply because applications are paused. There is literally no path to fix this from our end. We are completely frozen with no ETA, no alternative, and no accountability.
International wires are not a niche feature — they are essential to daily operations for any business working with international partners. Relay has made it clear through repeated failures that it cannot be trusted to maintain continuity for this functionality.
If you run a business that depends on international payments in any capacity, do yourself a favor and choose a platform that treats that feature as a first-class priority — not an afterthought they outsource to a rotating cast of partners. We are actively moving our accounts and would strongly caution any business owner considering Relay to look elsewhere.
We've been Relay customers across multiple accounts and have watched them cycle through international wire partners repeatedly, each time leaving customers scrambling with zero warning and no working alternative in place. The current situation is inexcusable — we can't send or receive international wires, we can't complete the Nium application because it's paused, and we have literally no way to conduct our daily business. We are completely stuck.
For a platform that markets itself to serious business owners, Relay has a stunning inability to manage partner transitions without breaking core functionality for its customers. There's no accountability, no proactive outreach with a solution, and no timeline for resolution.
We run a real business with real obligations to international partners. This kind of disruption has direct financial consequences. The fact that this keeps happening — not once, not twice — tells you everything you need to know about how Relay prioritizes its existing customers once they've already signed up.
Don't make the same mistake we did by building your business banking around a platform that can't guarantee access to the features you depend on.
Super easy to use, love the mobile app. My first business account, will definitely use Relay again in the future. Great customer service as well, super easy to change me legal name after marriage (you might be surprised how difficult my other bank accounts have made this).

I attempted to open an account with Relay, but the experience was incredibly frustrating. Despite submitting multiple rounds of legitimate, state-issued documentation. This is including my official name change documents, EIN paperwork, and state filing. They repeatedly rejected my application without clear cause of what was missing since everything requested was provided.
While I value security in banking, the lack of human oversight and the difficulty in reaching customer service made the process unbearable. It’s also telling that they have published blogs specifically addressing their bad reviews rather than fixing the underlying service issues that many of us are clearly experiencing. I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere and am honestly relieved I didn’t end up trusting them with my company’s finances.

Not a bank- a fintech platform with no support. It’s all fun and games until you need customer service. Locked out of your account ? Transaction stopped due to suspected fraud? You can’t access your account for up to a week. Absolutely unacceptable.

I would give more stars except due to the issues I've had with receiving physical cards. They seen to get lost in the mail a LOT more than any other financial institution I've worked with before, which is concerning. It has my name and business name on these cards, so wherever or whoever got them has that info now too. It didn't leave a very good impression on me for security reasons. I had to get cards expedited through an alternate delivery service to actually receive them. Besides this issue, the service is good and customer support is good, depending on who you get.

I use Relay for my small business. It is extremely easy-to-use, connects to my QB flawlessly and allows me to upload receipts right to the site. My card came quickly and I can easily move money in and out the account. I did have trouble logging in the first time because I retype my email, but Tim in support was great at getting my into my account. I would definitely recommend.

The bi-weekly live webinar was super-helpful, and worth waiting for. Shannon and Nadine did a great job of showing off what Relay has to offer, and the Q&A were answered very quickly. It was interesting to see what other types of business owners were attending, too. I can't wait to open my account!

I love banking with Relay. I've always tried to utilize separate bank accounts for different goals before I even read "Profit First." When I started my business and opened a business bank account with my major bank, I was shocked when I was told it simply would not be possible to have more than one checking and one savings account. Not only that, they required a minimum daily balance to avoid fees. As a startup, I never met the minimum and paid fees monthly.
Relay has been fantastic. I can open the different accounts I need to fully make use of Profit First. I love that I can transfer funds between accounts not just by dollar amounts, but by percentages.
My only not-so-favorite thing about Relay is that as of the day of this review, they don't offer Zelle. To be fair, Relay reps have publicly stated they hope to have that added someday. And I do understand that Zelle is a platform with a number of requirements and integration hurdles that can make it a little more complicated for smaller institutions. But if Relay had the capability of adding Zelle, they could be darn near unstoppable as a financial banking platform.
