Billed in the wrong

Hi Tara keep chasing them. It took me over 100 emails but they did refund me. I also contacted Comreg, and whereas they were helpful on getting some information, they would not engage on having scammers barred from operating in Ireland. Maybe Minister Ryan is our only hope. Good luck
I had the same experience as practically everybody who has reviewed Red27Mobile on this site. It took almost 100 emails to get refunded minus VAT. I was charged twice each day and Red27 said that they only charged me once. each day, so they refunded only half. Eir advised me that it could be any one of 18 different people could have got my money. At that stage I was over 90 emails. ComReg got me the name of the second and even though Red27 said they had no connection with, UME Mobiplanet, I got the same emails from people with the same names, and the same result. ComReg were helpful on extremely specific issues but would not engage on more general matters, like what were they going to do about companies that they have licensed that behaved in this way. I agree with John Keenan, every one of us aggrieved should mail ComReg with a simple question like “Are you in the process of investigating the fitness of Red27 to hold a licence to trade in Ireland please?” or something like that, and a separate mail for each company that you were involved with. And good luck

Scam: how to get a refund & what to do next

Red27Mobile (one of many names of this operation) is a scam company using illegal means to falsely subscribe users without their permission.
1. Get your money back
2. Ask for evidence of your subscription
3. Contact the relevant telecommunications authority
4. Contact your local politicians
1.
If you have been falsely charged, you need to email supportATred27mobileDOTcom and demand your money back. Their first reply with claim that you subscribed. Demand your money back. Their second response will offer a partial refund. Demand your money back. Their third response will be a slightly bigger refund. Demand your money back. Their fourth reply will be your full refund. This is what happened in my case - I provided my IBAN at the end and I received back the full €20.
2.
During your correspondence, demand to see evidence of your subscription. In my case & in my colleague's case, this was where the real evidence of the scam originates. Red27Mobile provided screenshots of our subscription data, showing that we had registered on phones that we have never owned - for example, it said I registered on an iPhone which is impossible since I've never owned one (and is literally impossible since I'm contracted by my provider to use a Samsung).
3. Contact the relevant authority body. For myself and other Irish residents that would be ComReg. Email consumerlineATcomregDOTie and give as much detail and the timeline of everything. Screenshots of those spam texts, the screenshot showing your bogus subscription, and your phone number that was charged. I lodged my complaint with ComReg. I have asked them to investigate Red27Mobile but was told that they will not investigate on the basis of one individual case - they need to see a volume of cases.
4. Contact your local politicians. While €20 is not the biggest lump sum to have to chase back, it's still theft and Red27Mobile are obviously committing this crime against thousands of people based off the online reviews everywhere. And that is only from the people who have noticed that they got scammed & only the people who bothered to write about it online. So contacting your politicians will hopefully put more of a spotlight on this ongoing scam operation.

Stay alert and don't get sucked in !

I echo the comments and observations of other commentators based on my experience. Charges made to mobile phone without explicit authorisation or agreement for a service we did not sign up to, did not want and did not use.
Automatic computer generated responses give away the game about so-called 'customer care'. I am baffled as to how they can continue to do this without authorisation and why the mobile operators and regulators allow this. Two months had passed before we noticed the charges. 3 charged per week for 10 weeks. This is an absolute scandal in my view and very questionable business practice to say the least. Stay away and be viligant.
My comment on Red response.
The response posted by Red27 is nonsense and reflects the lack of attention to customer care. Of course I raised the matter - how else could I come to my views.! I got standard automated responses in the main. Total resistance to recognising that anything could be wrong on their part. Refused to refund but offerred gesture of goodwill which was not acceptable or accepted. And to think they wanted my bank account details for this!!!
I have all the exchanges with Red which support my views.
Stay alert and so much for customer care.

Don't stop until you get a refund

I can see Emma replied below so let me say I can assure you your team didn't find a solution. I found one after threatening with com reg. They were forced into giving me a refund. You're doing yourself no favours replying to people's complaints. You're a fool working for scam artists.

**UPDATE - I GOT MY REFUND**
Bit of a long message but it's an important warning, especially for parents of children with phones.

My daughter who is 12 came to me three days ago and told me she's been getting texts to her phone. At first I thought it was a scam, however upon further investigation I realised they had been taking money off her account, €25 in total. The company is called Red27mobile.

I have engaged in numerous emails with the company and they have defended the subscription. I explained that they sent her a text asking her to reply APP to confirm she was over 18 and allow the subscription. It's clear in the message she didn't respond.
They argued with me for numerous emails so I asked them to send me a screenshot showing the timestamp, IP address of the request, referral link and mobile device information. They couldn't provide that information.
I contacted her mobile provider and they confirmed 10 texts has been sent to her phone charged at €2.50 a go. Most sent in April, none in May and one in June. I have asked Red27mobile to send an itemised list of charges and they said no. I asked them to send me the link to the subscription she supposedly signed up to and they have not been able to provide that either.

I have taken time to look into this and it seems they target children, most people complaining are parents. I informed them they can't have a contract with a child and I demanded a refund.

They informed me that they will send me a full refund (asking for my bank details, however I insisted on PayPal/

They are a registered UK company. I am reporting this to ComReg tomorrow. However ComReg say to complain first with the phone provider so make sure you do this. My advice is if you have found yourself victim to the same scam don't stop pushing until you get a refund. Some people have lost 100s.

A complete scam

A complete scam, Im bill pay so I never noticed it until my email for my bill and by that time it had already surpassed €40. I've contacted ComReg and sent 2 emails to them directly to redmobile27 but no reply. I won't give up on this and let these thieves win. During a global pandemic when some people's money is stretched, to randomly target consumers for a service that no one wants says a lot about the type of company this is. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Demand Refund and Proof of Details

Like Karen below I had to email this company persistently to get a refund for something I categorically did not sign up for.

I emailed first asking for an explanation as to how they received my details and a full refund. They replied with a long perhaps, perhaps, perhaps email of ways in which I could have signed up for. All of which I know for a fact I did not do. The said if I wanted to pursue to issue further I could raise a ticket and it would be thoroughly investigated which I did do. The replied within 1 (ONE) minute to say "After further investigation, I can confirm that your subscription was activated in line with the standard processes" however they wanted to refund 7.50 out of the 20 euro bill. What investigation can be completed and emailed within 1 minute is beyond me.

I again pursued this further and they then agreed to refund €15 out of the €20. They said "With respect, as per our refund policy you are not entitled to refund at all"

I then demanded a screenshot showing the timestamp, IP address of the request,
Referral link and mobile device info. they had on file for the sign-up, that or the €20 which ever was easiest.

They then processed the refund via PayPAL.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK DETAILS!!!!!

Emma will come down here later on and say they are a registered company and all that and offer empty apologies.

Keep pushing and you will get your money back as they said in their last email "My director approved your full refund request as a gesture of goodwill and in order to move on."

Their "director" is definitely some lad on a computer on his jocks looking to scam people during a global pandemic. Shame on them!

Scammed

My wife was 'opted in', without her knowledge, to MobiHub by an outfit called Red27 Mobile. They created texts they said they sent confirming her 'sign in' & advising her of the charges. Alas she never got those texts; she only received charging texts a week after these were claimed to have been sent. I am exploring the legality of this behaviour but I can't see anything legal about it. We never heard of either outfit beforehand. There is no question of my wife signing up to anything without consulting one of my family & nobody else has had access to her phone since the lockdown. Following my complaint we were offered the last week's charge of€7.50 & asked for out PayPal or bank details so they could transfer it. When I refused they offered €20 refund. The last offer was €35, each time asking for our bank details. Something isn't right!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My 12 year old has a 30 day rolling contract on my phone bill. Since February, I have been charged >100 euro and still not getting any resolution. This is disgusting behavior and robbery. I have sent a mail to ask for refund. I have blocked the number now but I thought it was blocked in April when I first seen the chgs from Feb & March but checked my bill today and racked up another 40 euros worth. Down right disgraceful. BEWARE PEOPLE

Like everyone else's experience here, I received a large unexpected mobile phone bill from Vodafone for reverse charge premium rate texts (37.50 euros for April alone) and was told I subscribed to online "services" by Red27mobile. Red27mobile say I subscribed by clicking on a banner whilst browsing online. Did I? They then say I ignored texts to "opt out" of my subscription - a subscription I wasn't aware I had even subscribed to. They say that someone else may have had access to my phone. They have not (I am an older man who has been "cocooning" since March). They refuse to refund, save a token amount out of "goodwill" and at the same time look for my bank account details for this! I can't express how underhand this company conduct themselves. Just read the experience of all the people here on Trustpilot. Look at Red27mobile website: contentless. I really look forward to the generic response by "Emma" from Red27mobile, referring to me as a "customer" and glossy statements about their being a registered company following government rules. They would like us all to be beat down by this. Take it to the phone companies, to ComReg, OfCom. We have been violated and let down. Over to you Emma...

Scammers

Scammers. Subhuman scum who mine people's data to steal their money, then blame the 'customers' for it. Don't believe their lies about sticking to rules and guidelines. There's absolutely no way what they do is legal. People should get together and file a class action lawsuit!

Edit: In response to the comment left below. You can say you're legit all you like, all you're proving by constantly saying that you're a registered company is that you exist, no one is doubting that part. How would that reassure anyone? But you're run by dishonest, sociopathic con artists who don't care how they get people's money.
