I agree - it is incredibly disappointing that we are prohibited to sell to part of the UK. More than disappointing - still very unreal that part of the UK has a completely different set of rules.
We follow the rules laid out by the Government, and aren't going to break the law to gain that extra * We mention that we can't deliver to NI on a tab on every variety as well as on our FAQ.
We have lost a LOT of our customers due to politics. We would love to resume our service to NI and to the rest of Europe - prior to Brexit, around 20% of our orders were outwith Eng/Scot/Wales.
We are prohibited to sell to Northern Ireland or to anywhere else in the EU and until we lock all the politicians in a room and serve them rice and pasta we see no way of gaining that extra star.

Please be aware that seed potatoes can be confiscated at customs even if it is for personal use.
If you have time, it would be great if you could write to your MP. It really is disgraceful that we are prohibited to sell to Northern Ireland and the rest of the EU.

Tastiest tatties
At the community centre and garden I work for in Dundee we have purchased seed potatoes for our big grow project, giving more than 100 individuals/families potatoes and compost to grow their own. We have also purchased eating potatoes and they are delicious, never have so many commented on the taste, texture and quality of the potatoes we have used before. We love them. Great to have a fantastic local supplier who cares so much for community and passion for growing .

A great company!
It’s great to have a company that not only sell smaller numbers of seed potatoes, I have a small garden and like to grow more than one variety, but this is a company that cares. One of the potatoes in my small order arrived at the time I ordered it for, but quite damaged and I let them know. Amazingly they sent out a replacement 3 potatoes of that variety!! This is a great company! So customer friendly!!

I bought three varieties of potatoes in 2025. They all grew well, and were disease free. The crop lasted through to Christmas. I have bought more for this year ;-)

Potatoes arrived on time. Some VERY small, one HUGE. Hence only 4 stars. All looked in good condition though.

Thank you for your review. We go over the size of our seed potatoes as well as the variation in size that you can expect on a FAQ as well as on a tab on each variety. We show pictures of the range that you can expect.
We ask at checkout if the customer has read this as we know that expectations do not always correspond with reality. As a recent user we would like to invite you to suggest ways that we can make this even clearer for our customers.
We have 90 different varieties in 4 different net sizes and do not do any further grading due to the work involved and the storage space in our store.
We could supply only the mid-sized tubers - but then what would we do with the larger and smaller ones - if they could not be sold we would need to charge double for the medium ones and this would generate huge waste. The tubers are all well within the legal limits to be sold.
We abide by the rules set in The Seed Potatoes (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
You are going to get a great potato patch from these seed potatoes (blight, weather and beasties permitting) and I’m sure that you will keep us updated. We’d love it if you could tag us on any social media if you use that @potatohouseuk. We’re here for all potato questions all season over email if you don't use social media.
