A whelping box, also known as a birthing box, whelping pen and nesting box is used in order to protect the puppies after the whelping process is completed and during the early stages of life when they are most vulnerable. The whelping box keeps them safely contained away from the cold, most whelping boxes also contain rails or poles around the lower edges of which we get asked all the time what these are for and the short answer is they stop the mother crushing the puppies up against the sides of the box which could cause the puppies to become suffocated as well as being crushed.
At petnap we sell 2 types of nesting boxes, Disposable Cardboard and Reusable Plastic whelping boxes. Both of these boxes will cope with the duration of the whelping process normally around 6 to 8 weeks before they then move on to a more suitable environment like a play pen as they become ever more adventurous. We stock 5 sizes in both types giving you plenty of choice as also have heavy duty plastic versions in our large 2 sizes.

Fab customer service
Fab customer service. I had a problem ordering online so rang Petnap, they looked into it, solved the problem and rang to say it was sorted.
Order arrived promptly, well packaged and the hedgehogs are lovely and warm for overwintering.

Superb design & manufacture, safe and cheap to run!
A really robust, well-designed, and well made product (vinyl heat pad). Our cats are loving them and they cost almost nothing to run 24/7. Best of all, with Petnap having 40 years experience I have confidence they won't burn my house down or harm our pets.

I bought a heated cat bed from this company and it was absolutely fabulous !
Great value for money.The cat loved it and it is very stylish in a leopard print so looks good in the sitting room.
I was recommended to buy this particular cat bed because I belong to a Facebook group for the owners of Oriental cats.They feel the cold so it was something that I had been looking out for.
I couldn`t have chosen any better~great shopping experience and great product !!

Very happy with my purchase
Was very happy. Pack included everything I needed and more. Just had to supply a few extra towels myself which was no problem. Whelping box was huge and sturdy. Also wasn't a huge fan of the identification collars so bought my own ones but the ones given would have done the job fine.
2 bits of feedback I can offer. The thermometer came with low battery. It still hasn't actually run out of battery despite me using it every day so not a huge problem.
And also the instructions for fitting the pig rails could be clearer in my opinion. I actually didn't use them in the end because it seemed like too much of a faf to get them on.
Overall so pleased with my purchase. Good value and was really happy with all the items. You really thought about everything. Thanks!

The tracking PFW7410795 confirms it was delivered 2 working days after the order.
You have also emailed us confirming you have received the item.

You requested a refund for the postage on the phone. We explained that we would only consider a refund for the postage if it had been delivered late. On the basis that the item wasn’t delivered late and was within the specified time stated on website we refused your request. However we later gave a 50% refund on the postage as you continued to express your dissatisfaction even though there was nothing to be dissatisfied about.
Some people you just can’t please Joanne Sleep from Trevadlock Farm, LAUNCESTON is one of them.
