Do not use this company

Do not use this company
Payment is requested upfront and when an issue is reported they do not take any responsibility for their poor workmanship
The engineer cleaned our oven which was acceptable however the rails were not put back correctly which caused the trays to slope, we corrected that ourselves
The main complaint was that our induction hob, which is glass, he scraped the surface with a razor blade and solvent.
It was after he had left our premises that we noticed a number of scratches on the surface in the direction that he used the blade
The customer relations that called us after many attempts by us to get a response stated that they would not visit to examine the damaged hob and that they considered the matter closed.
As a company please take ownership of your engineers poor workmanship.
Not a company I would recommend to anyone
They responded after approx 2 weeks saying that they could not find any details
Thes were sent same day I still haven’t received any communication
Stay away from this company
What a shambles of a company not only do they not accept any responsibility or check the issues raised they take 5 months to respond to a review.

Even now I have problems finding the job details in your database. As your name doesn't appear in it. I don't think the oven was yours but you are making the complaint. From what I can remember your complaint was inaccurate. We didn't scratch your hob as I checked the photographs taken after the clean and no marks were apparent. And using the method we use it would be very difficult to scratch it - we never have scratched a glass ceramic hob or induction hob in 20 years. But a perfectly clean hob means you will be able to see the scratches that were there before the clean very clearly. As for the side racks I remember they weren't located properly and it was just a case of putting them back on. At the end of the work you/your wife or partner were given the opportunity to check the work and to sign to the effect that you were happy with it, which they did. We have a team on the end of the phone and I know we dealt with this issue promptly.

So Far Worst Experience Ever

The measure of a company and person is what they do when they make mistakes and cause damage - this happens from time to time - what shouldn't happen is you are left with a damaged oven and are treated so so poorly and you left with a damaged cooker that you have to pay to get it fixed on top of the £££ you gave away for nothing but stress, sleepless nights and upset.

A disaster biggest regret using them, a really upsetting experience. From the damaged door seal, broken door hinges, blown fuses, being called a liar and refusal to put any of it right or to be refunded I now have to pay for new hinges and the door seal to be fitted to my once perfect just a bit dirty oven.

OvenGleamers have proven so far to be the nightmare company you read about on consumer watchdog programmes. Left feeling really upset and down and humiliated because of how I have been treated, you have a responsibility to do the right thing and at no point so far have you.

Catherine and Grahame I'd be really interested to see if you have the whole story, I can only hope that you don't and you will be horrified that a customer has had such terrible treatment I can give you every detail. Please take this opportunity to the honorable thing and refund me so I can put the broken door and seal back to as they were, perfect - before OvenGleamers caused this damage and upset and I can let other potential customers know you did the decent professional thing in the end - reputation really is everything, how you treated me is awful.

The OvenGleamer- employed by OvenGleamers Bristol - who no longer works for us had an issue cleaning your oven. We were onto the problem straight away and returned to rectify the problem the next day.

The clean was perfect. But he nicked the seal around your grill compartment. On your oven -Stoves - the seal is fixed and isn't removed, as on most ovens, when cleaning it. The nicks were about 2mm in size and was on both sides and next to the central metal seal dividing plate.

As this is a common issue on Stoves ovens and I'd say the likely hood of this happening on a clean by a professional oven cleaner is high we didn't think for this amount of damage the seal needed replacing. And if you had got a company into replace it I think they would have told you that you were wasting your money for such a minute amount of damage.

But we could make the problem less noticeable by trimming both ends of the seal to make them match. We sent someone back to your property to do the trimming but you refused to let them do the work and they left.

You then phoned the call centre staff daily demanding a refund, at times ranting at them for 30 minutes or more. You upset everyone in our small office. You were demanding to speak to me or my wife, but my wife was home recovering from a major operation. I was looking after her.

You mentioned another problem with your door saying that we had broken it but the guy had pointed this out to you before he started the clean. And on your oven it doesn't have hinges like most ovens; the main tension spring is inside the oven. A problem with the door not closing property would be a problem with that spring.

I can see that you were upset but only by your own feelings of entitlement.

You need this man....

Richard arrived promptly, introduced himself and set to work. He was polite and courteous and when he finished the oven, my goodness, it was gleaming!!. I keep looking at it as I'm convinced he must have used new shelves etc. I don't think it looked this good when it was new. Brilliant job and booked in for annual visit.

Clean but broken!

I had the hob cleaned as well as the oven but unfortunately was left with 3 broken hobs afterwards. I couldn't get a response from the cleaner himself so called head office who (after several efforts from me) arranged a repair visit. That was after one staff member told me I'd have to take legal action to sort it! Saldy two hobs remain broken after the repair and I never heard from Oven Gleamers again to see if it was all sorted. I appreciate that sometimes things go wrong with services but oven gleamers didn't fill me with confidence at all and I would avoid them in future. A pretty poor customer experience.

Hello, I'm sorry that you had a poor experience with our company. I have requested your details from you. Please would you give them to me so I can look into this as I haven't heard about this issue.

I cannot think of any one occasion in our twenty years of operating where a customer has ended up with non working hobs because of our clean. So if this is the case it would extraordinary.

As a company we do pre checks on your appliances to ensure they are working and then we check them at the end of the clean to ensure that they again are working.

If they don't work after the clean we will sort out the issue straight away.

Our normal course of action if they are still not working is to call out a local appliance engineer to fix the problem. We also ask the engineer to provide us with a report to say if they think it was the fault of the clean that the problem now exists.

On hobs we have never been told that our clean has caused the damage, as we have always been able to fix them.

The delightful Graham came to clean our embarrassingly mucky oven. He tackled the job with a great attitude and confidence. The result was outstanding. Oven looks brand new. Dividing the fee by the time spent by the cleaner is per hour, exceptional value for money.

!!PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!

!!PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

I had my range cooker cleaned just over a week ago. The operative started to take everything out of my oven to be cleaned including two George Wilkinson baking sheet trays that have always lived in there.

When he had finished I proceeded to take some photos of my oven as I'm selling it (hence the deep clean).

I noticed immediately that my trays were missing and assumed he mistakenly forgot to put them back in.
I tried contacting immediately but as it was Saturday the office was closed. I left an email but didn't get a response. I phoned the office to tell them what had happened and was assured they would look into it. I was the one who had to keep chasing it up as they never got back to me until recently.

I was told that the operative had no memory of the trays and that he clears his van out each evening. He had a job after mine so I suggested that perhaps he thought they were there's and they had them. Apparently he checked with them and they said they didn't have them. I was then told nothing else could be done. It's my word against the operative and I have no evidence or proof.

I said I have just paid £200 for my oven to be cleaned, the guy didn't even know how my hob went back together, basic stuff. I was told that this guy was a perfectionist but my warming drawer was still very dusty at the back and he hadn't cleaned the crevices around the edge of my hob.

I asked for £30 (the price I paid for my trays) but they refused. So apparently I must forget about my trays. I told them that if they did not sort their mistake out I would give them a bad review. They accused me of being threatening.

I use them the trays a lot for baking cookies with my daughter and for the school. I shouldn't have to buy two new ones.

I have always kept them in my oven as it's the only place they fit. I saw him take them out.

I am appalled and disgusted at their customer support. Please avoid this company at all costs. They also ask for full payment before they come out. Wish I hadn't chosen

Hello Mrs Wells.
The cleaner who cleaned your oven no longer works for us. But whilst he did he was a very detail focus person and we had lots of positive reviews for him. Some listed below - for Chris.

After your complaint. I checked the before and after photos of the clean. They were all brilliant. I note that the day after the clean you had posted your oven photos on Ebay for its for sale listing with the caption "Professionally Cleaned". Your gleaming range looked fabulous. I'm sure you got a good price for it.

Before our operative left the company I went through your complaint with him. He said that he took your baking trays out of the main oven on your range and put them to one side - which is our normal process for teflon coated baking trays - as we can't clean them and usually recommend buying new ones if they need cleaning.

When he came to re-assemble the oven he couldn't find the trays. They were missing.

As at the time your kitchen was in a state of mid-demolition as you were moving it, with building tools and building debris everywhere, he presumed someone had picked them up and either thrown them away or moved them.

With the hob he said that you - or your partner- couldn't decide whether the photos for the listing would look better with the griddle on or not. So he put them on and then took them off and then back on again a few times.

If we had damaged your baking trays we would have replaced them. So as a gesture of goodwill I decided to replace your baking trays.

I looked up George Wilkinson brand online. The main George Wilkinson company went into administration in 2014.
So as I was unable to find exact replacements. I did find some very good quality ones and sent them to you. I hope you have as many years of use with them as you did with the George Wilkinson ones.

Do not book any work with this company!

Do not, under any circumstances work for this absolute shower of a company. The owners are so toxic that they cannot keep any office staff. I hope they go bankrupt! They do not deserve any business, don’t care about their customers and are ambivalent in employment laws. Avoid at all costs.

Peter visited our Norwich apartment to attend to our new oven and did a fantastic job, never seen it in such a pristine condition. The guy was very thorough, dedicated and had a great passion for his job in which immediately showed. Just a very decent guy all round.
The finished product even left my girlfriend in a state of speechlessness....a first time for everything of course. A notable shout out to the bubbly and personable Sarah over the phone who dealt with me in the opening stages (keep up the great work).

Do not use them

Do not use them.
I was recommended to use this company by Everhot. Since recommending them and since having used them I understand from Everhot they are no longer recommending them.
You would expect the operative who came from the Calne branch to bring his own sheets to protect the area around the Everhot and to place the oven doors on which are removed in the cleaning process. The operative removed my hand towel hanging on the Everhot rail and put this on top of the work unit and put both oven doors on this.
He used a Brillo pad to clean the Everhot which at will he then placed on top of my incredibly expensive granite work top. It looks like marble and had it been would have now been left with a pink stain on it.
The operative spent more time telling me what he couldn’t clean than what he could clean.
It took two hours.
The first thing I noticed were fine scratches on the stainless steel that surrounds the top of the Everhot which I assume were done by the Brillo pad.
The brass rings at the back of the hot plate were still dirty as were both aluminium oven shelves. I used my mail to push off the grease left. I videoed this and sent it to Ovengleamers so there could be no dispute.
I contacted Everhot who told me these should have been cleaned thoroughly. The hinged part of the hot plate lid was also left yellowish. Everhot again told me this should have been properly cleaned.
I called Ovengleamers immediately. The only help they have offered is to send another operative back. Having told me I had already had their best operative out who has scratched my 7 month old Everhot why would I want that. I am disappointed by Ovengleamers lack of responsibility for £209 of so say cleaning and I wouldn’t say Everhot have done themselves any favours either in resolving this situation.
I had an amazing chap James who cleaned my Miele ovens prior to the arrival of the Everhot. He was from Ovencleaners and will now work with him and hopefully with some advice from Everhot to clean my new oven as well as he used to clean the old Miele.

Reply from OvenGleamers

Hi Sarah,

My reply edit: February 2024. - I've just cleaned your Everhot for you. You booked your Everhot in with us again for it's yearly clean, we couldn't believe it but we decided I would do the clean. You were lovely. You loved the clean I did, and said you would use us again. You didn't mention any of the things you mentioned in this review. I couldn't see any scratches on the polished strip....

*************************************
We are still the only oven company to be recommended by Everhot themselves. To gain this recommendation we have had to jump through hoops to prove that our process is the best method to clean Everhots. As a network we are cleaning lots of Everhots every week.

Your review is the first complaint we have ever received.

I looked at this job and your Everhot was very impressively cleaned. Your actual words to our OvenGleamer when he finished was "I can't believe it, I'm over the moon!" You signed our acceptance box on the Jobsheet to say that your were happy with the clean.

You later phoned the office and sent us a video saying that we had scratched the shiny polished front plate of your hob, not cleaned one of the shelves and missed a couple of other spots. These were: a spot of grease on one of the vent covers, a spot of grease just inside of the oven, and dirt on your granite top which edged your Everhot. The shelves we sometimes have problems cleaning are the alloy shelves - and in your case we couldn't clean one of them 100%. This is unusual and our OvenGleamer did point this out to you.

We offered to send someone back straight away. You didn't want this. We eventually offered to send me back, the owner of the business, but you didn't want that either. The last communication from you by email was "if you don't give me a full refund then I am going to tell everyone on Social Media how bad you are."

We refused to give you a refund as we thought everything was done correctly and you have now given us this review.

There are some inaccuracies in this review. You mention about protecting the area around the Everhot - we do carry ground sheets and cloths to protect surfaces. Also as we genuinely do use Eco products in the home we don't have to worry about any products falling on the floor as they won't harm any surface and we clean up at the end of the job.

Our OvenGleamer did ask you if he could use your hand towel to put the clean doors on and you said "yes that is fine; it's an old one". The Brillo stain could have been wiped off. He told you about the things that wouldn't come up 100% with our clean - and you were happy at the time with this. We would have warned you about not being able to get the burnt staining on the main inner lid off.

After receiving your video we checked the photos of your Everhot taken before we cleaned and the area was extensively scratched before we started cleaning with some larger deep scratches which was surprising for an Everhot which was only 7 months old. As part of our clean we polished this strip and we removed a lot of the existing scratches but the deeper ones still remained.

Your local chap James maybe brilliant at cleaning an old Miele but to clean an Everhot requires the right knowledge and processes to clean the cooker and the right dip tank setup in the van.

We use an electrically dip tank which means all the removal stainless steel parts of the Everhot, such as door liners, hob square, oven bottom plates, can be dipped in our tank and made perfectly clean without the need to scrub them. James uses a gas fired burner to heat up his water dip tank and because of that can't get the perfect finish that we do and to get the parts clean. To get them perfectly clean he would have to scrub then=m with a steel scourer scratching them in the process. They also use a Potassium Hydroxide based cleaning product in the home which could potentially very badly damage the Everhot's powder coated finish.

So disappointed with this company

So disappointed with this company, I booked an oven clean about three weeks ago for 9:00am however by 9:20am no representative had arrived, I telephoned the person who was due to come and the phone went straight to voicemail. By 11:00am still no call back and no one had arrived to clean my oven. I rang the central booking number and was told I would need to be called back by the person who deals with my area, after about twenty minutes I was called back and when I asked where my oven cleaner was I was told nothing had been booked out in the diary. There was no mention of sorry for your inconvenience or any phone call at all from the representative I left the message with at 9:20am, needless to say I shall not be booking a reappointment with this unprofessional company.

And your review doesn't ring true as our office admin team have access to every OvenGleamer's schedule and would have been able to see the status of the job and would have been able to confirm it. Please would you contact the main office on 0800 45 82 357 with your details, where you live etc. to pass on to me - Graham Rogers, as we need to know where you live so we can look into this.

Avoid at all costs – OvenGleamers, Pill, Bristol

What is there to say apart from please please do not use this business!! Granted there are some glowing reviews which I wish I had ignored! They are the lucky ones as God forbid if anything goes wrong, such as the engineer breaking your oven door! Don’t expect that they will go out of their way to resolve a problem of their making. Not only was an apology lacking, there was no suggestion of a refund or goodwill gesture. Offering a second-hand replacement without any kind of warranty or reassurance that the item would meet industry regulations, and you can forget taking away the broken oven, that’s definitely not their problem! Hard lesson to learn that you should never pay the full cost upfront before receiving any service, as you’ll be lucky to see your money again. And if you think this sounds bad, please also factor in that I arranged this service for my elderly father who’s almost 90 and who does not need the hassle or stress that this has caused! Shameful isn’t it? Suggesting that he make a claim for the broken oven on his household insurance, really? Correct me if I’m wrong, household policies do not cover damage caused by a third party so this would be tantamount to being dishonest and illegal. Although we have taken some advice from Citizens Advice in terms of what consumers are entitled to according to the Consumer Rights Act, OvenGleamers are very good at claiming that they are fulfilling their legal obligations but how is that right if you’re left out of pocket with a broken oven! After much to’ing and fro’ing, we have at least managed to get the original cleaning fee refunded but my father is still left with a broken and unsafe oven. Our only option is to purchase a brand new one. I’ve dealt with lots of businesses over the years and can honestly say this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I wouldn’t go near this business again with a barge pole and if you want to save yourself any hassle and money, I wouldn’t recommend you do either.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with our oven cleaning service. We apologise for falling short of your expectations and for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Our normal response to this sort of accident is to get a replacement part within 24 hours and then fit the part the next day. Sometimes this may take longer as some manufacturers aren't so quick. These accidents are rare and unfortunately yours happened the day before we stopped for Christmas holiday so we didn't have time or the man power to react quickly.

The handling of glass is a learnt skill in professional oven cleaning that we train all of our OvenGleamers in and because of this glass handling accidents are very rare.

With your oven, as it was an old oven - I'm guessing at least 30 years old, we were unable to get the door glass as it was obsolete.

In our 19 years of business, only three instances have occurred where we were unable to locate parts for an oven. And on those occasions we have found a very good oven replacement and had it installed within a few days.

So our next step was to look for similar oven that we could replace yours with. We found a nearly new secondhand top of the range AEG oven which would have been a very good replacement, as it had exactly the same features, and arranged for an electrician to fit it. It would have been cleaned and PAT tested.

We did this between the Christmas and New Year when we were on holiday.

You were unhappy with this and wanted us to replace the oven with a brand new equivalent to your John Lewis model.

We were unable to do this as our obsolete parts policy only covers the replacement of the whole oven with a secondhand or new oven up to the value of cheapest second hand modern oven equivalent.

We gave you a refund to the value of what the door would have cost us to replace which incidentally was exactly the same amount I would have had to spend to buy and fit the replacement oven.

We then told you the best way for you to get a brand new modern equivalent to your 30 year old oven might be through your own house insurance as some policies do provide cover for tradesman accidents in the home.

Excellent service- very impressed

I hadn’t cleaned my oven for many months but Dean wasn’t daunted! He arrived on time, stayed for several hours cleaning my double oven until it looked like new. He was polite, friendly and extremely professional. I was really impressed- this is the second time I’ve used this company and thoroughly recommend them without reservation

DO NOT USE!

Didn't turn up on time.
Didn't manage expectations.
Phoned up to be told rep would be VERY late.
Rep eventually phoned me to say he would be an hour.
Two hours later he phoned to say he's not coming, as he can't be bothered.
Then got an email saying Your OvenGleamer has arrived!
Thank goodness I refused to pay in advance!!!

1. Informed by Trustpilot that if I don't respond, my comment will be DELETED in 2 days - without my consent!

2. Not sure what else there is to discuss. My area code is EX34 9SA. The chap who was going to come and do the oven clean complained that admin had organized his workload so that there was too much driving involved to get from the job prior to mine. But this was only part of our 3rd brief conversation.

I lost interest at this point. Not my problem but it was made into my problem, as I'd been waiting most of the day for him to turn up!

Hi David, I've tried searching for you everywhere - you aren't on our Database and on any Social Media platforms. As you now have given your postcode I have checked the voters registry database and you aren't listed. We don't even cover your area. Our franchisee who did cover the postcode, which is in Ilfracombe, stopped in December 2017. You left his review in May 2022! So a pure fake review.
