I was letting you know that I was…
I was letting you know that I was moving out on the 30th September and wished to terminate my account. The result was I was plagued with e-mails requesting a great deal of irrelevant information which was for some reason on an American database. As I am on a smart meter the cessation of my account should be a very simple thing although it seems that your organisation is more interested in leases and the new tenant. How would I know who the tenant would select as their electricity supplier.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback, we really appreciate it.
When an account needs to be closed down on our side, we send out a Business move out form which I can see we sent on 9th of October.
The reason that we ask for this, is so that we can verify when legal responsibility ends for the property to make sure that the correct parties are billed for the correct periods.
We ask for the landlord or next tenants details as until they switch away from us, they will automatically be on supply with Octopus Energy meaning we are responsible for billing them once you have left.
I hope this helps to clarify why we ask for this information, I have reached out via email to see if there is any support you need and to answer any questions you may have about the form. Please do respond to this and I will be happy to assist you.
