We bought our first Obasan bed for the cottage in 2018 because our bed there was no longer comfortable. A year later we bought a second bed for town because once you sleep on an Obasan bed you don't want to sleep on anything else. Initially I looked at Obasan because I wanted an organic bed . The modular concept was different. I was a bit skeptical. But, in this case, sleeping is believing and we will never go back to another type of bed. John in the showroom is an absolute pleasure to deal with and we would highly recommend Obasan to anyone looking for a good night's sleep.

Everyone should have one! I have no more back pain when i wake up now. It's literally like sleeping on clouds. The sellers are gold, they are so good to establish our real needs.

Obasan offered to refund me my money and then reneged on the agreement once it was made.

We walked into Obasan’s Ottawa location on a whim, and we were so impressed by the concept, and by the great service, that we returned to try the sleep room. Two hours on a mattress configured specifically for us, and we were convinced; we bought our first two mattress that day! Until you have regularly slept on an Obasan mattress you cannot appreciate how much a great night ‘s sleep can change your life. The greatest pleasure one has when waking up on an Obasan mattress is the sure knowledge that you’ll be coming back to it for another great sleep that night! And our anecdotal experience was recently confirmed by a guest, whose FitBit proved conclusively that Obasan enables a much improved sleep over their regular mattress.

It’s been a year since I bought my a Obasan mattress and I love it more everyday! It is so unbelievably comfortable. I initially bought it because I am a passionate environmentalist but how amazingly comfortable my sleeps are makes me know I made the right decision to buy an Obasan mattress. I love the pillows too! I bought pillows for everyone in my family and we all love them!

I honestly cannot say enough about this company and ALL of their products! I first learned about Obasan when researching mattresses for my toddler son when we were about to transition him from his crib to a bed. Hours of research about every single organic/natural mattress on the Canadian/US market led me to make the easy decision to buy Obasan. There is no other mattress made with more purity in materials and full transparency in the process of manufacturing. In the end, there really was no comparison and I was surprised about the lack of information and the "greenwashing" that even the leading "organic latex" companies were using to sell their products. There is no going back now! I haven't even mentioned their customer service which is world class. Genuine, friendly, warm and caring. My three year old daughter now has an Obasan mattress, our whole family has the shredded rubber pillows and wool duvets. We are customers for life and I feel it is a privilege to own anything made by Obasan. Thank you, John!

Knowing that all is organic and nothing is chemical makes me feel good.
First I bought two twin size mattresses for my two sons when they were around 5-7 years old. After 7 years, since kids got taller, I just recently bought two queen size mattresses for my two teenagers and they love them. 
Obasan mattresses last for a long time, good investment in healthy sleeping. I am hoping that my sons will be able to use them for many years even during their adulthoods.

We purchased our first Obasan mattress, a crib mattress, 5 years ago before the birth of our first baby. We realized a few months after our baby was born that he was spending far more time on our bed than on his crib mattress - and all the reasons that motivated us to buy an organic crib mattress also compelled us to buy an organic mattress for ourselves. And are we ever glad we did! Our sleep quality improved greatly which I’m sure has had a positive effect on our lives. We’ve since bought a second mattress for our child, and mattress bases, pillows, toppers, blankets and comforters... and we’re not done yet! We will continue to buy Obasan as our family grows! The customer service and support we’ve received from Darlie John over the years has been second to none. He’s demonstrated a genuine interest in our family and our sleep quality. He has always been helpful in guiding us with our choices and working within our budget. We really appreciate his time and patience and look forward to seeing him again this summer as we make our next round of Obasan purchases.

I have been sleeping in a bed that I purchased at Obasan 2 years ago. I have never experienced such a comfortable bed before; there is no comparison, it was an invaluable investment! I must also add that the service I received was as high quality as the bed itself: staff at Obasan are attentive and kind, and speak with passion about Obasan produtcs. One senses their commitment to and respect for the company they represent.

We started with an Obasan crib mattress and then graduated to two Obasan twin mattresses as well as twin and queen comforters and other accessories. We love them all! The service is excellent and it's a pleasure to deal with them. We love that everything is free of harmful chemical fire retardants (because the materials are already naturally fire retardant). A human spends a third of their life in bed and regular mattresses offgas for at least 10 years, so this seems the most effective area to invest in harmful chemical-free materials for ourselves and our children. The temperature regulation is great too. So much better than our old cheaper mattresses, mattress protectors and comforters. We're saving up to someday buy a queen Obasan mattress as well. Plus it's a locally-made Ottawa-based company and we're from Ottawa. :)

We love our Obasan beds. A most worthwhile investment into a good sleep that helps us reset our bodies and minds on a daily basis. Few years in and it's still a treat for each of us to get into bed every night. The combinations we chose are supportive in all the right ways (no more aches) and just the right amount of softness to feel so cozy. The love extends to their accessories, pillows and blankets, they are all noticeably well made. All our Obasan products have held up really well over the years. Must also mention the outstanding service. If I could go back in time, we wouldn't have waited to buy this bed. We could have saved ourselves from many poor sleeps. Highly recommended.

We've had our Obasan beds for several months now and I can honestly say they are so comfortable. The best sleep we've had in a very long time. Our allergies are better too. Well worth it to have restful sleep. Our experience at the store was personal and helpful. Highly recommended.

It really is a life-changer deciding to invest in your sleep, in your comfort and in your health. Our Obasan bed has been the best investment we have ever made. The mattress finds this magic balance of being soft without sinking too far in, and being firm without being hard. It was especially amazing during my wife's pregnancy, supporting her belly and our little one every night. The feature that I appreciate the most is that it is wrapped in a layer of wool and organic cotton, allowing my body to breathe and regulating my temperature so I no longer sweat at night. We tell everyone about Obasan and the value we have created in our lives by investing in a bed. It's amazing, too, that they are made in Ottawa.

It's very cliche, but the worst part about an Obasan is sleeping elsewhere not on an Obasan.

Sleep well, hopefully in an Obasan.

I got my new Obasan foundation, mattress and pillow about 7 months ago, and I absolutely love them! I no longer wake up with sore muscles and I sleep way, way better than I ever have. I have had problems with my neck for as long as I can remember, but it no longer hurts. The muscles in my neck are much, much stronger thanks to the great support from the pillow and the mattress. The Obasan team are truly sleep experts, and I am so thankful for all their help. As they will tell you, it will take your body time to adjust to the pillow and mattress, but I urge you to persevere even if you feel some discomfort at the beginning....in the end it will be well worth it!

I couldn’t rave enough about this company, the level of service provided by John at the store, delivery, or comfort of the beds. They look beautiful, they are supportive for both my husband (6’3”) and myself (5’3”), and our differing weights. We loved our mattress so much we bought another one for our cottage and our grandkids. We use Obasan sheets, duvets, and pillows now. Could not be happier with our choice to go Obasan 3+ years ago.

We have been sleeping on our Obasan mattress for about four months now and my husband and I cannot tell you how happy we are with our purchase.
