A very poor service where you will repeat yourself

Spent a great deal of time completing my application form, I them received all the pre contract paperwork and I signed it all electronically, then an email saying congratulations our representative will call you first thing in the morning, whilst I’m at work only to go through the whole application again saying they didn’t have all the information (Rubbish) then wants to know which credit cards I wanted to pay off and who they were with, again all on the original application form, then after 15 minutes on the phone whilst at work I lost the will to live and cancelled my application,

People don’t bother as you will loose at least an hour of your life which you will never get back with 1st stop loans only to repeat yourself time & time again and after being on the phone whilst at work they have the front to ask are you currently out of work or off work due to sickness, well if I’m on the phone to you much longer I may well be out of work, wake up 1st stop loans not everyone can talk whilst at work

I'm sorry to hear that we were unable to help you on this occasion. You are correct in that your application should have been declined when you ticked self-employed, so we'll investigate why this didn't happen to ensure our systems are working correctly. Many thanks for your feedback. Regards 1st Stop

Done all the paperwork and was told…scumbags

Done all the paperwork and was told that I’ve been approved and gave them all my details with bank for payment to come off. Then get told you don’t meet our criteria. Passed all the credit checks. Thanks then get told that from them. What a bunch of scumbags. They now added this to my credit file. Stay clear of this cowboy company... Hi poor reply. Why go to all the bother and fill in you’re online application and give all the details including bank details and say you’ve been approved then come back with another answer. This company is F.O.S. That’s why they have numerous bad reviews.

I'm sorry we weren't able to help you on this occasion. I can however, reassure you that as we only do a soft search during the application process, there won't be any impact to your credit file. Regards 1st Stop

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!‼️‼️

Respond to your reply Leon .
We have given you 4 location in the radius of where we live . Kids that used traditional way of driving lessons managed to get tests booked no problem. So when I went to try and book the test ourselves we couldn't because you have booked a test 4hrs away, the instructor then checked again as wanted to download the routes only to see it has been canceled and now booked in a total different town . Meanwhile we are unable to book it ourselves due to you sitting on the test centers that are not even remotely in our area and some were booked in Scotland and Wales . You wasted almost a year ,we spent thousands with you on pretence it's intensive course . It's been over a year now . And will be going to finiacial ombudsman and media to let public know not ever to go with you
I stand by my original comment

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!‼️‼️
WE had got the loan approved and funds given as we needed to top up the disability grant that went towards modifying our home for our daughter .They approached us this year again and when I declined them as we don't need any more funds they left a bad credit on our credit check as "debt" even though we haven't missed one payment .Rest assured this loan is being paid off and credit score we now have to pay through solicitors to be removed .

Don't bother totally unhelpful. The person I spoke to glee in making the process of applying for a loan difficult. I wouldn't waste your time look for someone else.

STAY CLEAR OF 1sr STOP LOANS

If there was a zero star this company would deserve it.

Apply for a loan all paperwork done approved and in the last moments I been told by a broker that the application is declined due to discrepancies which they would tell me what they are.

Stay well clear as they will rob you for your information and ruin your credit file.

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company I took out a loan with them and then issued a CCJ and wouldn’t accept a payment plan and I have just gone for redress and it took them 8 weeks to come back and tell me the company was dissolved in 2018. And they have set back up again,, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Very disappointed in this one stop loan company for playing games with me as first they called me and offered me a loan then once everything got approved and my application was successful and only waiting for funds to go in my account a day later they called me to say I've been declined but gave me no reason!! This company is fake don't use it.

disgraceful and a complete waste of…

disgraceful and a complete waste of time

Pre-approved, documents and credit agreement signed. Only to get a "15" minute call that ended up taking over 35. Asking very personal questions, going through credit report in full, and asking the very same questions from the application process over and over again. Member of staff i had the misfortune of dealing with was possibly the most arrogant and rude person i have come across with the empathy of a dead badger. Dont waste your time, its a scam

Absolutely diabolical company

Absolutely diabolical company. Applied for car finance through cancan car finance, they told me I had been approved and booked an appointment to view cars. Travelled nearly 80 miles to the dealer, found car went through all the paperwork, got given a figure provided by 1st stop to the dealer that I can spend up to given rate etc, all seemed to be going well until the day after when 1st stop call me to say that they have now declined the finance as I am £20 a month short of the £1000 they set. Why even agree in the first place and allow me to waste my time when you were going to decline it. Avoid like the plague stay well clear of this company, rest assured I am pursuing a case with trading standards as I was provided with false and misleading information. Surely some snotty under writer can say ooh its £20 I can still authorise that as 1st stop has already approved the application.

Applied online for a 1st stop loan

Applied online for a 1st stop loan, received an email that my application has been approved, need to sign and return eDocuments which I did. Two days later had a call from staff member asking details of a loan purpose, employment, then about nationality to just be told they won't be able to provide me a loan. My advice: simple credit check will sort things out quicker and you won't have to spend time and money on phone calls while need to collect information about applicants.
Also, asking the question in what respect the applicant is a UK resident is irrelevant and unprofessional.

Avoid them unless you are okay ruining your credit for at least a year!

What sort of lenders ask you such personal questions? The lady said it’d take her 20mins to finish a pre-approved application. After 40mins long run of some very personal question I was told it wasn’t possible for me to ‘apply’? I thought she was only calling to finalise the quote and send the money over?! Left TWO hard credit checks on my account for a pre approved application. Terrible! Already contacted citizens advice and filing a claim case against them soon.
