I have successfully sold two bikes via MyNextBike. The first time was a breeze, advert completed, decent offer accepted, courier sorted and payment on-time. The second one, less straightforward but MyNextBike deserve credit for sorting out the issues and I ended up getting the payment only delayed by a week or so - credit to Harry and Matt for fixing it. Thank you. Much easier than selling it yourself and then sorting out collection/delivery.
Very pleased with the experience. The ordering process was simple, the bike arrived in great condition, and everything was explained clearly. Setup was straightforward.
I purchased a bike from the site and opted for collection as it was local. There was some confusion around the location of the bike and where to collect from which was resolved after a day or two. I was not allowed to contact the seller directly to arrange collection which is a bit silly after I had already paid MNB. Other than that the bike was great and I am very happy.
I did not have a straightforward sale as the money side took much longer to arrive, however the guys at My Next Bike were excellent at communicating and apologised as it was out of their control. I would definitely use them again - great business model - just needs the financial side tweaked
As a seller I have found this company to provide a very poor service. In multiple places on their web site, including twice on the home page, they said that bikes are shipped “fully assembled and ready to ride”. They also said, “We don't use bike boxes!”. Neither claim is wholly true. My buyer lives in Scotland. Only after I had accepted his offer were we both told that the bike would have to be dismantled and shipped in a bike box. My buyer told me that he was concerned by this, as he had already paid the delivery charge. He felt aggrieved as he lived near one of Scotland’s major cities. I live on the Scottish borders, so the distance wasn’t outrageous.
I mailed MyNextBike to question this, and to say that I would not dismantle the bike as instructed. They agreed, eventually, to deliver fully assembled as promised originally.
It took a while to get the bike collected. It took even longer for the bike to be delivered. It was longer yet for me to have sight of payment. It was promised but not delivered. In an email to me giving a poor excuse for delay, there is a link to a web page explaining payment procedures – but the page link is dead. The reason - “allowing time for delivery verification, buyer confirmation, and fraud-prevention checks “. The buyer has 48 hours to confirm acceptance of the bike, so that’s the first two reasons taken care of. Fraud -prevention? Well, who has my money but isn’t paying it? Where is the potential for fraud? What is going on for the additional 21 days they say they need.
The web site is riddled with errors and inconsistencies. They told me that they were hiring a creative writing graduate to improve matters. I did point out that what was needed was factual writing rather than more creative writing.
It seems that this is a company with a cash flow problem. Their accounts show significant debt levels which must be serviced somehow. It very much looks as though it is down to us sellers. I got my money today – after 21 days since delivery. The excuses given for slow payment are ludicrous. I believe that they are financing their cashflow by borrowing – but by borrowing from their sellers. And this without agreement or even acknowledgement.

To add context to the context (see reply below)
The problem with the delivery was the false claim. As of today their website still says "Our delivery partner will collect the bike fully assembled". The response tries to mitigate this untruth by saying that they arranged a special delivery at their own cost. In other words - if you complain loudly enough they will honour their promises.
They have multiple excuses for late payment. Pretend as they do that all is explained in their terms - the link which they send to sellers detailing there procedures gives "404 This page could not be found." This is after they promised that the link would be fixed.
Count the number of reviews who complain about late payments. Look them up at Companies House.

Horrific experience as a seller. Harry does his best to reply and keep you quiet. In the end it was clear that they can release the payments at will. They tell a lot of lies regarding banking issues. These guys shouldn't be trading under their current business model. The website is very misleading. Suprised Trading Standards haven't shut this down.

Great platform — found a really good deal and the bike arrived in excellent condition. Would defintely use again.
Great platform with very good customer service. This was my second bike purchase from them. Unfortunately, the delivery logistics were complicated for my location. I did receive my first bike after a few initial teething problems and i have been very happy with it. For my second purchase, i decided to cancel as i wasn't willing to wait, although i'm confident the company would have delivered it eventually. A tip for anyone outside of delivery zone's : if you can arrange delivery through someone you know who is within the zone, you can get a fantastic deal. Overall, a great company.
Very amateurish and website does not describe seller experience accurately.
From buyer perspective probably very good.
Here’s what they don’t say about selling:
- they will not pay for at least 21 days (and in my case tried to add another 19 to this)
- they do not get buyer funds before telling you they have, instead they ‘receive sales money from different sources, as we allow buyers to pay with cycle to work scheme, financing options, including Klarna and Clearpay, as well as usual credit card / debit card options. These providers can pay us as long as 30 days after sale, and release funds on a batch basis. We used to pay sellers from own cashflow often before receiving the funds from the payment providers, but we are unable to do this now as we have scaled.’
- they take more than the advertise %, from my £750 sale I ended up with £602.

Listed my bike, sold quickly all great so far. Arranged the collection but they haven't collected the bike or communicated anything to me. So a wasted day off....... I can't be at home for another week so the buyer will probably get annoyed and cancel. I would

Have not been paid £1800 since they sold my bike in October. Constant excuses from their only agent who calls himself Mr winter. Director is Matthew Coulthard. Avoid at all costs and buyers/sellers be aware they are scammers and fraudsters and I will be taking legal and other action against them, I can't wait!!
UPDATE 18/1/26
DO NOT TRUST MY NEXT BIKE: STILL NOT PAID.
You have received the LBA (letter before action) 14 days ago. I am initiating legal proceedings and other further action against you on 19/01/26.

Well as a seller overall I am happy. My bike sold within 24hours of being listed, the courier collected within agreed time and was delivered within agreed time.
The only thing you need to be aware of are the delays on monies being received, which I do agree with other comments here that this delay does
Seem oddly long.. BUT, as I’d seen these comments, I knew this would be the case.
Overall the company do need to improve their auto comms abit more throughout the process, as will help to keep us informed of what’s going on - but ultimately, my bike sold and I received the money 👌

THIS IS UPATING MY EARLIER PREVIOUS…
THIS IS UPATING MY EARLIER PREVIOUS REVIEW 30/12/25
I initially left a rather scathing review for this organization, which Matt, a Director and presumably a shareholding one, asked me to review based upon information he supplied to me. Broadly, I complained about the time it took to make payment. Loooking at the reviews currently availble, there are a mixed bag, but there is a theme running through which refer to delays in payment. It is very clear, Matt doesn’t want to delay payments, based upon the evidence produced. He showed me the third party predicament , the money handling company causing a two fold unnecessary layers of complications, which do cause delays, which are not acceptable. Given this, Matt, his own risk, has put in place a different system, albeit still an outsourced provider, designed to operate smoothly. It does however take a little time to work through the systems but will produce a better outcome. Consequently, if you are in desperate need for the cash, yes look at an alternative method of selling you bike. I do however feel this system, once running smoothly will prove to be good. I have recommended to Matt he employs the use of independent business adviser to ensure this is and will remain an hiccup to the embryonic stages of the business and would recommend to him, if the payment deadlines are not met, his company adds some extra compensation for the delays, such as 50% of the commission they retain for providing what is a very useful service. On a personal note, I purchased my bike in Spain, having now upgraded, I took the original bike to the sales outlet I originally bought it from, I listened to their offer, then decided to bring it back to the UK and sold it via ‘sell my bike’ for virtually 3 times that offered from
The platform and idea behind it is very good, However operationally you are met with Harry or is Tom or RICHARDin particular. One is unable to communicate directly with these guy’s only via a text portal, which leaves interactive communication protracted and the user consequently weary, presumably they are working on the basis it will leave the enquirer sufficiently drained to be bothered to continue to interact this way. They receive payment from the purchaser and hold it for ten days then once time is elapsed, supposedly release your cash entitlement minus their commission. NOT THE CASE WITH ME or others from reading these reviews. Delay then further delay, blaming it on systems. If you have the cash transfer it, how difficult is this a manual override, it is not. A promise of a no commission sale if not paid by the third due date, they paid it then! What is their address where they operate the business from not an accounts holding address, to my mind the whole thing probably worked well at first with good margins through sufficient sales, lifestyle adjusted accordingly and then sales fall, lifestyle remains the same so a gap appears in completing transactions. If I’m correct, eventually some consumers will be burned! I’m sure Tom RICHARD or Harry (RICHARD the abbreviation being the most appropriately named)will formulate some excuse in response to this, so in advance, I WILL NEVER USE YOU AGAIN AND ADVISE OTHERS TO STEER WELL CLEAR and they wont need a sat nav to avoid you if they take heed of this warning.

I sold my bike on this website and they did exactly as they said they would. I read the reviews here after it had been sold and my heart sank. I thought I had made a mistake, I shared my concerns with Harry and Matt immediately called me to reassure. I received payment as agreed after the required checks. They made my Christmas. Have faith because they do deliver what they say.
Seller experience very poor - criminal.
I sold a bike using this service and it was duly collected in good time. Up to that point, zero faults.
Payment however was a terrible experience. Excuses after excuses - all rubbish. They apologise, make promises and generally keep you hanging on blaming the banks. This was for over two months in my case. Then when they did pay it was not the full amount.
Again, admitted error, promised to rectify the now small amount, never materialised.
If you read through comments and replies here you find that this is a theme.
When a Buyer pays, the funds should go immediately to the Seller minus MyNextBikes commission but I suspect they use the money elsewhere first and pay only when they can eventually afford to.
Obviously, I do not recommend using this service since it is clear something dodgy is going on.

Clear communication, smooth delivery, and trustworthy sellers. No complaints at all.
Having decided on a bike, submitted an offer. Within maybe a day, offer was accepted. Paid straight away. After not hearing anything about collection details for nearly three days, decided to contact mynextbike. Apparently seller had not provided collection details which mynextbike were only now, after three days, about to chase up. Soon after, I got an email saying refund issued as they didn't have the stock, i e bike already sold. Week and a half before Christmas on a 5-7 day refund to clear now means, I can't buy my wife's Christmas present in time for her to get the bike on Christmas day.
I'm baffled as to why they accepted an offer on a bike advertised on their site without knowing whether it was still available. This is unacceptable for me. Moral story, don't make any payments without first, confirming item is actually still available. Completely effd up our christmas

Unfortunately, I was told that the seller from whom I had paid for the bike from failed to arrange collection and stopped responding to messages. I initially received good customer service by the phone & agreement I would be sent a refund. Unfortunately there were delays with the refund being processed, and it became difficult to get a response when trying to find out what was happening. However, I eventually got a reply to say that they were having difficulties with their payment system, which they were investigating, and a month after the refund was agreed to be processed, it has arrived.
I think that My Next Bike is a fantastic idea, and I hope that they can iron out their issues with payment, and gain a bit more consistency in responding to issues in a timely way. It could definitely be a very welcomed service to connect buyers and sellers across the UK with insured shipping and 48hours buyer protection.
