Purchased a car from them was meant to…

Purchased a car from them was meant to collect on the Friday got a phone call to say the clutch was broken had to go back week later. When leaving the radio wouldn't work spent 2 weeks trying to sort, lots of promises given but none ever happened. Eventually got a courtesy car but when it was delivered there was no fuel in it had to fill it and was told I couldn't claim the money back.
Promised call backs from different members of the team and especially rhe manager James but still waiting. Asked to speak to director told I wasn't allowed as they don't speak to customers. Got told I.could contact area manager to find put that there isn't one as they are a independent company so yet again another lie.

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry you feel your experience with Motortrust, hasn't been satisfactory.

Please allow me to update our version of your timeline; stated above.

When you reserved your car, we sent it to an independent garage for a health inspection.
This is done with all of our cars, to ensure that they meet our high standards before collection.
Upon this inspection, we noted that the clutch would need replacement soon and as thus decided to repair it. This is not of obstructive intention to you, merely to avoid disappointment in the coming months, if it were to fail!

I can concur that after collecting the car, the radio module developed a fault.
This was not an intentional oversight, but cars can develop faults at any time and sadly this happened.
We asked you to come in the following Monday to allow our Auto Electrician to look at repairing it.
Upon this inspection, he deemed that the module needed replacing.
As this would need to be ordered and the removal of the dash would be required; we advised, for us to bring a courtesy car to your house, collect your car and take it to be repaired.
This took place and the courtesy car had the equivalent of £10 of fuel in the tank.

I question how you feel this level of service is deemed negative? We don't/ can't supply courtesy cars, as all our vehicles are facilitated through stocking funds. However, we sourced a part exchange and supplied one to your house!

You called yesterday afternoon, after the courtesy car arrived and had several conversations with varying members of staff that afternoon.

I had notification to call you this morning, as I was unavailable last night.
The sales staff commented that you were very rude and demanded to speak to a director!
They commented that this was because you didn't like the courtesy car and expected a full tank of fuel?

I am the Regional Manager for Motortrust UK and will contact you shortly to discuss your experience and review content.
I do feel this review is unfair and ask for you to reconsider its content!

Yours Sincerely

XXX DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP XXX

Please read before purchasing from this dealership.

February last year purchased a Renault Kadjar which I was ensured on collection it had passed AA testing and had a MOT carried out. As soon as I left the dealership there was issues with the car, the steering was pulling to 1 side, several lights had come on the dash and other issues. I contacted the dealership and asked me to bring it back in and assured me the lights just hadn’t been removed from the MOT. I collected the car and was assured everything was on however the steering was still pulling to one side slightly they said this was due to tyres needing topping up and will be fine after. I did this and went on the motorway with my little girl where the car went into limp mode would not go above 50 and cut out. Again, I immediately contacted the dealership and they said to bring the car in for them to look at it. After 5 failed repairs of the car and being left with no car for the first 4 of these totalling 11 and half weeks before I managed to get a courtesy car, I was still having issues. I had put in a complaint to the finance in April and after 6 weeks with nothing resolved I contacted t he dealership to see if we could come to an agreement with the car this is when the staff started to become rude, this site is all male staffed and make you feel stupid. I then forwarded my complaint to the financial ombudsman and trading standards. The dealership was trying to say all these faults was wear and tear on my behalf, when I had several checks done on the car it came to light the driver tyre was bent and the bolts underneath have been welded incorrectly causing the car to pull to one side, this along with many other faults, and being told the car had most likely been in a bump by 3 different garages.
It has taken over a year for any resolution on this situation. I have been left with no car for a total over 5 months struggling to get to work and to get my little girl to nursery along with day-to-day task etc, it has been the worse experience with this dealership who as soon as you drive away with car that’s it. Please please avoid this dealership or ensure you get your car checked before purchase I have since found many others in a similar situation than me with this dealership and do not want it to happen to anyone else.

Reply to motertrust…

Of course I complained I had a faulty car, and after the 5/6 times of faulty repairs I got no support or reply from the dealership so not sure what level of support you are reffering to.
I can confirm I did receive a courtesy car to use on 2 of the occasions however was still left with no car a total of 5 months through out the whole of the contract.
Yes it has been sorted now and I have received full payment but that’s with me going to the ombudsman and finance company not of what the dealership helped with. I have the emails and documents of the dealership stating they are not at fault and it it my wear and tear.

Thank you for your review.
I sincerely contest the accuracy and content!
You complained profusely from purchase and each time; we provided a courtesy car and investigated your concerns!
Ultimately, the car was inspected, pre and post sale numerous times and found not fault!
To honor an unhappy customer, we authorised a full refund (of which you have received).
To leave a review after this level of support/ commitment from us, is distasteful and to be frank; slanderous!

Found a C3 on their website

Found a C3 on their website, great family run firm and I like the fact they didn’t pressure me to get anything I didn’t want at this moment. I originally spoke to the boss who showed me the car and then Ben dealt with me from there. There was a bit of work that needed doing on the car and I got told it should take 2 weeks. I got the phone call exactly 2 weeks on saying it was ready. Very smooth process and I would recommend.

Bumper was fantastic

Bumper was fantastic, very efficient, and communicated with us all the way. On the way home when we stopped for coffee the wife did notice her seatbelt was mouldy and the message refill engine oil has come on dash. Which I thought the prep garage would have sorted it. But overall the experience was great.

Certainly NOT to be trusted

Appalling service. Placed a deposit then found it impossible to speak to anyone. When finally did get through (after blocking my number so that they couldn’t call screen me), was promised someone would call back… this never happened. Waited nearly a month before giving up on Motor Trust. I could never recommend this company purely based on their lack of customer service.

Approach with extreme caution and a winning lottery ticket

When it comes to car salesman, there are crooks and conmen and then there’s the worst of the lot - MotorTrust UK.

Avoid. Like. The Plague.

If you want to line the pockets of various car mechanics with thousands and thousands of extra pounds - READ ON.

We bought our car in cash exactly a year ago December 2023 - it’s been nothing but stress and expense since the day we drove it away.
The first issue encountered when driving it home back to London - a dramatic juddering of the vehicle every time the brakes were applied. Our local car mechanic discovered it (wasn’t my poor driving) but the disc brakes on the car were shot to sh*t and completely gone.
One issue of many, resulting in an extra £1000 being spent on the car weeks after purchase.

The complimentary breakdown cover that was supposed to have been applied, was needed one week after purchasing the car when, late at night on the M23 to Gatwick, the front tyre blew out leaving myself, husband and 1 year old daughter stranded in Gatwick in winter in the dead of the night. Turned out Mark hadn’t bothered applying it or activating it resulting in an expensive Uber journey home and us abandoning the car until the next day. Cue more expense at replacing the worn out tyres.

The AA inspection report had been completed in July - we purchased the car in December.

Soon, the annual service on the car was due. Boom - another £500 down. On the birthday of its purchase, the AdBlue injection system has gone - another £2500.

The conclusion of every mechanic who looked at the vehicle in the early infancy of our ownership, suggested the car had been driven into the ground with little care or maintenance. A convenient discovery to make after the car had been purchased.

I can’t even say anything pleasant about Mark who sold it to us.
Desperate and pushy to get us to “leave a review” of him on Google Reviews.

We have been in touch with Motortrust who took zero responsibility, we also reported them to the AA who ran the service check.

I have genuinely nothing pleasant to say about our MotorTrust experience. I’d sooner spend the rest of my life walking to every destination than having anything to do with them.

Approach with caution, skepticism and an extra pocket full of cash. These guys are the Kings of Car Sales Crooks.

Dear Ms. Leahy,
Thank you for your 'amended' review.
We have not had any contact with you, since your purchase in November 2022.
I do feel that leaving feedback some 14 months later, does question the credibility of your issues.
We are a family run business, with excellent customer service (as per our reviews credit).

A car dealership you can Trust.

Just purchased a vehicle from Motor Trust UK. Ian was so friendly and advisable as to the vehicle we wanted. Everything was so smooth with the contracts. On the day we picked up the car, they had serviced it put 12 months MOT on and even topped up the petrol. Taxed the vehicle when we purchased there and then. All round a great service, would definitely recommend to go for your next car.

You really can trust MotorTrust in Preston

I bought a Skoda Octavia from MotorTrust in May. After a couple of week's use, I found it with several cm of water in the footwells which turned out to be due to a leak from a poorly fitted windscreen. The water then caused damage to a control module and several sensors making the car unusable. James and the guys at Motortrust Preston never tried to walk away from the issue and acknowledged that the issues were down to a problem with the car that existed when I bought the vehicle. It took a while to sort but the car is now running well. There are lots of horror stories of dealers selling a lemon and refusing to accept responsibility but MotorTrust is not one of them. I tried to stay calm through what was a long series of issues and James was always helpful and courteous

Highly recommend Motor Trust

Highly recommend Motor Trust. Great selection of cars and decent finance deals. Very happy with the car I bought. Adam was very friendly and the whole experience was easy with no stress. I had 2 good test drives. I already had finance in place which wasn't a problem. There was no pressure from Adam and the financial transaction was quick and the handover went according to plan. No issues with the car. Definitely take a look

Another week passed and again I had to return to garage to get the battery changed , this done still battery light on (another 30 mile trip)
Reported to Motor Trust who advised will book in for an auto electrician to check
Whilst this being done I was offered a courtesy car when delivered had a flat Tyre , again I needed a car so they told me to take to one of their nominated dealers to replace tyre, again in my time.
Another promised repair, 3 weeks later car delivered back to me , but battery light still on , advised needs new alternator .

Garage delivered car and still light on , dealers advised faulty alternator fitted and will be taking to another garage
More weeks and was advised car fixed and will be delivered

Got in courtesy car 2nd courtesy car with no fuel has a 13 inch crack in screen!!!!!!! Illegal to drive
Reported again to dealers
Now want my monies back , and lo and behold the manager James will not take my calls , promised call backs never happen
I am now stuck at home with a car I cannot drive

Dear Ms. Turner.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, as they are important to both; dealer development and future customers, alike!
The review you have left (to be blunt), is a fabrication upon reality and quite frankly, slanderous!
Reviews are meant to offer a true reflection of your personal experience, either bad or good. Your review does not provide any factual information, non of the events, dialog, or statements made are correct!
As thus, it harms a genuine family run business, that provides a good service to our customers.
You have had a refund for your purchase (because the battery light kept going on and off), so please consider removing the review.
Yours Sincerely, James Taylor MSc, Regional Manager, Motortrust UK
