Medal Reviews 

Initially I had issues with medal, where it wouldn't launch or recognize the game I wanted to record.

I'm happy to say with diligence of the medal teams, the issues and bugs are no longer an issue. It's by far the best game recording program I've run across. Easy interface, lots of editing options, plus a cool social media aspect to follow, like and comment on other medal creators. I highly recommend!!

Although I have some drawbacks, I will be uninstalling this program.
The Good:
- Efficient clipping program that allows for me to review and store many video game clips at a time and records at all times.
The Bad:
- Premium restrictions, although lessened over time, allow for the favoring help-wise for people who pay money and not for the many others who do not.
- Major performance reduction and memory take-up that does not balance out compared to its use.
- Clips can commonly break or perform at painfully low performance.
- Certain games physically cannot be run with Medal on as they require enough resources on their own.
The Ugly:
- SUPER buggy oftentimes, with many of my complained issues having no real source of identification or clear fix.
- One day (when the program did NOT UPDATE and I changed NO settings), I woke up to find all of my clips that I make at absolutely terrible quality and performance despite game efficiency. The clips worked perfectly normally the day before and nothing changed at all.
- Shows up as your "Played Game" on Discord instead of your actual game.
- Despite the many attempts, the "Help" section failed to address the problem correctly, and I still experience this issue.

Medal has become one of my my favourite desktop apps the past year, being able to edit and upload fun moments with my friends to share with others, or just keep track of memories with unlisted / local clips has been a really fun experience.

There's a great abundance of talented people that make use of the built-in editor, or import feature to give you some fun things to watch even if you're just browsing. I find myself sometimes opening medal just like any other social media to browse and actually having fun!

There are clearly some big bugs that need ironed out, with things like the "currently unsupported" editor (according to support emails, but specified nowhere else) crashing or breaking clips permanently amongst other general errors in the app like the screen going black on lower-end devices when a game is open.

I will say though, Medal has an amazing support team and every time I've had any significant issue they've been very friendly, professional and helped me through it to the best of their ability.

In my opinion, they clearly care about their community, consistently rolling out updates - sometimes even multiple per day. The team really doesn't feel corporate like many other big companies (at the time I write this review), & you can chat to many of the devs in the discord server if you wish.

Overall I highly recommend Medal 👍

I remember trying to look for memes on youtube and saw nothing great, but medal had this nice little niche list of trending stuff and i knew what to use. Pretty much helpful, great editing "software" sometimes, if you dont have stuff like CapCut or wanna use any of those.

I've been a long-time user of Medal.TV, even back when it was known as Plays.TV, and I can honestly say it's been one of the most reliable tools for capturing gameplay. The quality is consistently excellent, and it's super easy to use perfect for both casual and serious gamers.

Recently, after upgrading to Windows 11, I ran into a small issue. I reached out to their support team and was genuinely impressed. I got a response almost immediately from a real support agent (not a bot!), and they helped me solve the problem within 30 minutes. That's the kind of customer service that really stands out.

Highly recommend Medal.TV to anyone looking for a smooth, high-quality clip recording experience!

Crashes the game in the middle of a tournament, dont use this

ACTUAL DOGSHIT DUDE. it has
-uploaded clips automatically despite me disabling that in settings
-failed to record the correct application
-not even started up
on MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS

It's so bad takes forever to load because they pummel you with notifications and updates so you can't have it on start up because it will lag your entire computer and take of some much resources useless application do not use it

it saved me so much hard drive space and so much hustle from obs.

ABSOLUTE AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Does not clip in time if your in need of saving yourself in minecraft and takes up so much resources in the background especially if you "closed" it. This is so buggy to the point that when you record your screen you have to give it a good 5 minutes just for medal to even realise what its seeing and my pc isnt that bad (ryzen 7 5700x 2060) DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL APP

Notice how most bad reviews are accounts with only 1-2 reviews....prob fakes.

However, I've been with medal day 1, as a supporting founder and a partner. Genuinely the best software for clipping, sharing and downloading clips. Massive functionality and huge customisations. If there is ever any issues the discord guys are always really good to help.

I had an account issue today that's what prompted me to write this review now, and was somewhat shocked at the ridiculous reviews below.

The only thing I'm not so keen on is the constant prioritisation of the likes of Roblox, all you tend to 90% of the time on discord etc is Roblox this and that, it's not exactly a kids recording software so what gives with that?

However, overall Medal is good, it's came a long long way since the beginning days.

Medal is both up and down. Sometimes it crashes and wont clip when you truely want to. Like it can really be those moments you wanna save and for some reason medal just says nope. To then go to work again directly after which sounds pretty BS to me. But those times it works It is great.

With partners like Complex Minecraft, that tells me all I need to know about their company. For those that don’t know Complex Minecraft is a predatory server that encourages gambling for our youth. Complex Minecraft also has had complaints about adult players being predatory towards minors and they always downplay it. Medal you should look into who you partner with.

The best recorder I've tried. Very reliable and doesn't cook my pc

Constant updates, auto updates don't work.
Rarely clips, nothing works to fix it. worked for a good month and now I cannot get it to clip anything at all.

Doesn't sync in games - takes like 1 hour to do so, when i try to switch to screen recording it just simply won't work. Heard positive things about Medal, sadly, it just sucks, i don't like it

Medal.tv is hands down the best clipping and video-sharing platform for gamers. It’s super easy to use, with seamless recording that captures gameplay without noticeable performance drops

Now I don't know why so many people write bad reviews, when all it seems is that they have bad hardware.
You can't get normal quality without the right hardware.
Yes, some software can do it, but that doesn't mean they should.
Anyways, great features, love it all.

Awful app, filled with malicious / spyware type adverts, constantly crashing/bugging as well, my firewall doesn't know whether to quarantine it or throw it into a furnace.... I miss GYG
