My family has had a very disappointing experience with The Matchmaking Company.
My father signed up for their services and paid $5,000 during one of the most difficult periods of his life. At the time, he was going through a devastating divorce, battling Stage IV prostate cancer, and struggling with severe emotional and mental health challenges that ultimately resulted in hospitalization.
Given his circumstances, we believe greater care and compassion should have been exercised before accepting such a significant payment. We have since requested a refund and asked the company to review the situation in light of his documented medical and emotional condition.
This review is not about the concept of matchmaking services. It is about how companies treat vulnerable individuals during times of extreme personal hardship. We are disappointed by our experience and hope the company will do the right thing by reviewing this matter fairly and issuing a refund.
I encourage anyone considering these services to carefully evaluate the costs, terms, and commitments involved before signing an agreement.

I’m sharing my experience with The Matchmaking Company so others can make an informed decision.
I signed up for a package that included 12 quality matches for a significant fee. Based on the sales process and onboarding, I expected personalized matchmaking, consistent communication, screened introductions, and matches that reflected the preferences I discussed in detail during the questionnaires and multi-hour consultation before signing the contract.
Unfortunately, my experience did not match what was presented. The quality of the introductions were disappointing and, in my opinion, below what I have experienced using dating apps. A couple of matches did not respond to initial communication or ghosted before the initial meet-and-greet.I had clearly communicated that I was looking for matches within a certain age range, with compatible political values, and with similar long-term relationship goals. Several introductions did not appear to reflect those preferences. For example, I was matched with people outside my stated age range (they were 17 years younger) and with political views that were specifically discussed as important compatibility factors during onboarding.
I tried to address these concerns through conversations with the matchmaking team, but I did not feel that my feedback led to meaningful changes. Over time, it felt less like a personalized matchmaking service and more like I was being moved through a process so the company could count introductions toward the package.
The lack of communication was one of the most disappointing parts of the experience. Communication was inconsistent at best, and I often had to initiate follow-ups with my assigned matchmaker. At times, I went months between meaningful communications, which was frustrating given the cost of the service and the expectations set when I signed up.
I understand that matchmaking cannot guarantee a relationship or even mutual interest from every match. However, I did expect the company to provide the level of personalization, communication, and care described during the sales process. Based on my experience, I would not recommend The Matchmaking Company to someone looking for a transparent, personalized matchmaking service.
For anyone considering them, I strongly suggest asking detailed questions in writing before signing a contract, especially about match criteria, communication timelines, what counts as a “quality match,” refund policies, and exactly what is included in the package. I would have felt differently if the company had been more responsive to feedback or had adjusted the approach after repeated concerns.

I really appreciated getting continuous coaching throughout my dating experience with Matchmaking from Shallyce, especially on a deeper level. This was very helpful to guide me to process my feelings throughout my journey

I had a good conversation on the phone today with Leighann and she expanded my matchmaker account to me and answered all of my questions.

Thresa was very cordial and informative
Give her an ‘atta girl’ and some capital inspiration ($$$) for a job well done
She sprinkled ‘be back dust’ on me; and I ‘be back’!

Brittany Johnson did an excellent job helping me turn my emotions into calmness. Talking with her allowed me time to understand what I was doing internally and externally. It was a great learning experience but having someone like Brittany to talk with and about my behaviors was tremendously helpful going forward. I was not going to get this resolution by any other means. She was also very personal, upbeat and genuinely concerned and interested for me.

Times have changed and I understand that most people go on-line to find a partner. As you get older this isn't so easy as there are so many scammers out there.
Unfortunately my experience with the Matchmaking company in Ft Mill was similar; in that they assured me that they would find a suitable match; when in fact they were simply trying to check off a box every 6-8 weeks that they had found an introduction.
And I had nothing in common with any of them. They either lived 2 hours away or were on a totally different path. Don't waste your money. It was $7K wasted! Better to spend your money on nice vacation - because these people don't care!

I been a client since January 2026 in the Denver Front Range. Only received 3 matches. One match was a no show, but counted against my matches. The other two matches did not match my categories. Only one matchmaker for the entire state of Colorado extremely slow response and does not listen to desired categories. Do not waste money and time with the Matchmaking Company. Not even staff to deliver matches.

Joined up, went for the cheapest package available as work was quiet at the time and it is fairly pricey. Still shelled out $2500 for a 4 date package. But I thought ok, you get what you pay for. Or do you? After paying and an initial flurry of activity, background check etc......silence. Then I got offered a date with a woman older than myself which I turned down, which was met with disapproval and an argumentative response from my very young sounding matchmaker. I then told her I no longer wished to deal with her and I wanted to speak to a manager. A couple of days later I got a call from my new matchmaker and within a few days she set me up on a date with a woman who could not have been more of a mis match for me. Complete opposites, with nothing in common. And since then, silence. I don't want to call and ask whats going on because I know I'll immediately be paired with someone, anyone, to reassure me that I'm not forgotten. On the other hand I'm wondering if I don't call them, will I ever hear from them again? In my opinion, a waste of very hard earned money.

Lenicia is my matchmaker and I absolutely love having her as my matchmaker. She is thorough, respectful, friendly, and will go the ends of the earth to make sure you are happy. I called yesterday with an issue and on behalf of Lenicia, Carla, another matchmaker, took the time to listen to my grievances amd passed them on to my matchmaker, who is the best in the world. Lenicia has my best interests at heart and I know she will find me the best match based on compatibility. I am a really happy client and look forward to working further with Lenicia. Thank you.

You’re a gentleman who makes people laugh whilst respecting boundaries, Mary Ann loves to laugh and is genuinely kind, and whenever you call, Leighann answers with such warmth and knowledge that you’re half convinced she’s already married you off to Mary Ann just to keep you as a client. Together with Leticia and Shari leading the charge, they’ve created a matchmaking dream team that doesn’t just find dates—they build genuine connections and make you feel truly cared for every single step of the way.

"I cannot recommend my matchmaker, Shari Kern enough. I was out of the dating scene for a while, and she made the transition stress-free. I really appreciated the post-date debriefs, where we could openly discuss what went well and adjust future matches accordingly. It is so refreshing to have an expert team handling the background work and helping me navigate the modern dating. Shari is a great example of what The Matchmaking Company is all about the valued customer. They are all about not crossing boundaries with the date. Shari is a kind and generous person who is always willing to look out for my best interests when I joined the Matchmaking Company. Respectful kind generous people on this app I do recommend this company to everyone and the staff is phenomenal lady who is always attentive to my needs. If anyone is looking for love, and discretion then this is the best place to go.

Not a wise investment and are your ready to release your private information?
I have been asked by Naomi from Matchmaking and their corporate attorney Chase to remove my review and I will be released from my contract.
This is what I wrote to the attorney: Step back please. Let's reframe this. I am the person whose privacy was violated by an Executive member of Matchmaking, who did not follow Matchmaking's policies, as stated by their advocate, in writing and verbally by a second employee.
I am the one who was wronged. If you want the review removed you should refund the entire Matchmaking contract price of $6,995.
I value my ability to write reviews and love saying well done. So this negative review is costing me $$, but honestly, it is more important that you understand how your privacy is "handled" and how women are "processed through."
I am tall, pretty, and athletic. First match said I was stunning. Next two matches were completely inappropriate. The second man had difficulty walking. It has now been 8 months without a match.
When I signed up I was told there was a large pool of men and in fact 2 guys were just perfect for me. I did ask how large the pool was, but was never given an answer. My bad for not obtaining that information
So ladies, they really are NOT there. I paid $7K and have had 3 matches in 17 months. I may be 85 by the time I have met all 8 of my matches. That was not my plan.
My third match told me that he had started in February and had a match every month. So if you are a guy, perhaps you will have more opportunities.
Yes, my MM was to call me, didn't. So I wrote an email and sent a text to explain my concerns and basically was told, "you signed a contract."
Sorry, I made a bad investment based on an enthusiastic sales person and at an emotional moment of loss.
Ask about the pool of people, ask how frequent are the dates, ask how many MM folks they have working on your behalf for starters.
And the most recent "match" was given my name, my location, and my date of birth. He elected to research me and call me and left at best a rather "socially awkward" messagee, not once but he called three times.
This personal information was released without my consent. It was an "executive" review. The MM participants pay $20k to join the Executive program.
Don't sell yourself. I am sorry that I have to say this. Be informed and don't sign a contract with Matchmaking without having a heartfelt evaluation of the pros and cons.

This is awful, I could have done better in a bar. You pay a lot of money for a service that was the worst - went on 4 dates, none lead to a second date, 3 of the guys had health issues like my husband who I lost. I am not interested in becoming a caretaker AGAIN, not to mention there was no chemistry, plain awkwardness, I did what I could do to just get through the date- this company is just plain awful. I would not recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.
