Incredibly long waiting time to open an account
I applied for an account 3 weeks ago (May 13) and got no response. Chatted with the AI bot twice already and both times I was told that my message will be forwarded to a human agent within 5-6 days, which did not happen. I would not recommend this bank to anyone who values a good customer service. As I recently moved to Denmark and I need a bank account for basic operations, like receiving salary and paying bills, I am now stranded with this application process and regret not going to a different bank. Lunar needs to be more transparent when it comes to the application processing times.

After uploading:
- last 3 bank statements from my former country (Germany)
- last 3 payslips
- employment contract
- account statement from the bank I used for daily expenses
and stating that I will not send any further documents, I was finally granted an account. I could not have imagined that all these documents would be necessary for a bank account, getting a mortgage in Germany required less.
Things started moving only after my trustpilot review and I don't believe that this was a coincidence.

This is certainly not the experience we want for our customers, and our onboarding team is working as quickly and efficiently as possible while also ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met throughout the application process.
If your application has been under review for more than three weeks, it is often because some information in the application has required clarification or correction. In such cases, we will reach out directly through the app and sometimes by email to let you know if additional information is needed.
When this happens, the processing time may be extended. Similarly, if we request additional documentation or further details regarding certain parts of the application, this can also increase the overall review time.
The timeframe can also depend on how quickly we receive the requested information and whether the submitted documentation meets the requirements needed to proceed.
We will of course ave a look and reach out to you, to ensure that you get the help you need and a proper follow up.

Fraud with my card!
When I noticed an overseas transaction made with my card information, I reported it as fraud. Lunar responded efficiently and refunded the amount within roughly a week. The turnaround was much quicker than anticipated. Thanks 👍

Excellent onboarding experience with Lunar Business.
As founders of a newly established engineering startup in Denmark, we had several questions and documentation requirements during the account opening process. Lars was extremely professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire journey.

Their customer supports sucks
UPDATE (8-6-26): It is now 19 days since I transferred my money to Lunar from a foreign bank. The money is long gone from the source and STILL not landed in my Lunar bank account, even though I have provided multiple documents to prove all is ok.
This is starting to look systematic, since I can see there are others experiencing that their money is "gone".
They should pay us a positive interest rate, they are using us to borrow money free of charge!
I also had this comment in my original post.
"If you are looking to understand what interest rates are, you get a different % from their calculator, plan page and in-app plan information."

We do have a general waiting time of 5–6 business days when requesting contact with a human agent. However, this is communicated to be transparent about the expected timeframe, and it does not necessarily mean it will always take that long.
We completely understand that it can feel frustrating, especially if you have already been in dialogue with one of our support agents and then experienced a lack of follow-up afterward.
We would very much like to look further into the communication and waiting time in your specific case to ensure that you receive the help you need, while also identifying whether there are any areas where we can improve our processes internally.
At the moment, we unfortunately do not know which customer account belongs to this review, and therefore we are unable to investigate the case further yet. We have therefore requested your contact information so we can identify your case and take a closer look at what happened.
Regarding the interest rates you mention, our dedicated team is also very interested in receiving more details about this, as the information shown across our calculator, plan page, and in-app plan information should of course align.

Unresponsive, slow (despite promising fast onboarding), not following their own Terms & Agreement.
Waiting for 12 days for their team to ask the reason behind the company name.
Being ignored by the onboarding contact when I reached out to cancel my application process before being approved. Now I am being charged both onboarding fee and annual fee and warned about interest fees.
Lunar Business is probably fine when things are working just fine but I would advise everyone to be very careful and read their terms & conditions thoroughly if you are considering ending the relationship or something that requires human effort from their side. Then things move slowly and everything becomes very cumbersome.

A waste of time. They sell themselves as a bank that is available for anybody living in Denmark but actually, unless you are working or a student, they don’t want you and will keep asking you for more and more documentation.

When establishing a customer relationship with Lunar, we are required to verify and document your identity, including your full name and CPR number. This can, for example, be done by providing a valid passport or driver’s license.
To complete the onboarding process digitally with Lunar, you must:
- Hold citizenship within the EU/EEA,
- Reside within the EU/EEA, and
- Have a valid MitID.
