I really don’t appreciate that when I’m in the middle of a project their yarn has tied ends within the skein. The tails aren’t long enough to weave into my project leaving a highly visible knot that t... See more

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I tried multiple times to get orders cancelled and they never answered my emails. I just got an email to say they shipped the order anyway.
Yarn caused me pain.
The review links don't allow me to review the products. The Re-Up Bonus Bundle® Yarn was not at all soft. It was scratchy and caused burns on my fingers. Tiny shards of plastic also left splinters.
Unacceptable customer service and return
I have been trying to get a refund for an order I placed in OCTOBER of 2025. It is now the end of January 2026. The problem started when I went to return a color from my order and was never given a return label. The website told me they were processing my return so I figured it would take some time and I was patient with them. A few weeks later I decide to return some other colors and it generated a return label right away! Thats when I realized something was wrong, so I contacted customer service, and they told me I could return the two orders in a single box using the shipping label I did get. I followed their instructions exactly, and tracking confirms the package was delivered to them. I was then given a refund for only one return (the one associated with the label I used) and they are now claiming the second return was “not in the box,” despite both returns being shipped together. If the box was received and one return was processed, then they have the other yarn I returned and are denying the error on their end.
Weeks later, I am still missing part of my refund. I have spent hours trying to get this sorted out with them and they are not willing to help in the slightest. They are rude to me, and have never once shown me that they are listening or even care. this experience with them has been a complete nightmare.
Radio silence by customer service is a bad look.
During the 2025 Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, I purchased two bundle sets of yarn: a dozen skeins of Heartland and a dozen skeins of Basic Stitch Skein Tones. When I added these to my cart, an additional set of each item appeared with FREE listed as the price. I'm thinking it's a surprise bonus. Cool, right?
Two weeks elapse, the order ships, then finally arrives; the original two sets are in the box, nothing additional. I check the website to see "partial" under fulfillment status. All e-mails state that "some" of my items were on the way or delivered.
Okay, but where are the others? I drop an e-mail to customer service asking for clarification. No response. I wind up writing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau; LBY opts not to contact me despite the BBB asking them to do so. It's now been approximately one month without any contact other than one automated response acknowledging my initial e-mail request.
I'm not asking for the moon; if it *was* a bonus promo and they ran out of stock, I said what I'd accept as a substitute (different colors from the same product lines, which is not outrageous).
The yarn quality is there, which is why I made a purchase in the first place. The lack of care and follow through from the customer service team as well as senior staff really rankles.
extremely long processing time
More than two weeks passed my order time, the yarns are not even shipped yet. several attempts to contact the customer service, I only receive automated messages. No real person to solve the issue.
Skiens were smaller than I expected
Skiens were smaller than I expected. Price was good, but I may not have enough to use for what I orriginally intended. At lese I have other projects that t will work for.
Always quality yarn at great prices

I made 5 of these hats already
I made 5 of these hats already. Pattern is easy to follow, hats are thick, warm and you can see the big knit. I love them
This is the only yarn I use...
I can't buy the yarn in bulk and the shipping times are incredibly long. The shipping window is HUGE and quality control is lacking because sometimes I have a skein that is COMPLETELY different from ones of the same color and texture. My other sources for this yarn ship much quicker and it costs a lot less.
No response from customer service
I placed my order too quickly and immediately sent an email to customer service asking for assistance. I requested that they please ship my order quickly instead of the 3-9 days indicated AFTER I placed my order. I said in my email that I was willing to pay the extra money to get my order delivered earlier. I wanted the yarn to make a Christmas gift and had calculated that I had enough time if I got the yarn earlier than 9 days. It took eight days for me to get a reply; the reply indicated that my email had been “misdirected” and were just getting it then. The email further went on to ask if my issues had been addressed. I wrote back letting them know that they were not addressed and I was still looking for a positive resolution. I never heard back a single word.
My yarn was scheduled to be delivered on 12/12 and was delayed until 12/17 at which point it was too late
to complete my project. And, I never heard from their customer service again. I will never buy Lion Brand yarn again and I urge anyone who reads this review to do the same.
Sparkle of Love
What made this experience great is that I am saw a video on how to make this eyelet scarf! It was made by someone of whom I learned this pattern! This was inspirational, but I was making this pattern for a young child, with soli yarn, but because of this video, the person who did this pattern, she used this Mandala Sparkle yarn! Truly this is a sparkle of love! Soon as I get done with the young girl's scarf, I'm going to make me one using this beautiful yarn! I'm very excited!!

On 8/8/25 I purchased 9 balls of Cotton Linen Bamboo and two balls were damaged and unusable. After several emails with support they provided a return label to replace the yarn, I sent the yarn back and then received an email that the return was denied with no explanation. Since that time they've refused to respond to any emails or the three additional support tickets I've submitted. This is the worst customer service I've received from a merchant.

I purchased a kit with a digital download, I could not find the link sent an email, got a response in 5 minutes with a PDF in case the link did not work. This was a fantastic and easy process and a great example of excellent customer service.
Homespun is GREAT
Homespun is my absolute favorite yarn. It makes beautiful blankets, is soft, comes in a myriad of different colors, and is machine washable.
Lion Brand Yarn is great!
Lion Brand Yarn has always shown themselves to be trustworthy with their product descriptions and customer service.
I love your yarn!
Hot!
I just love their yarn even though sometimes I think their packaging could be better. I also think if you buy a kit you should receive a printed pattern with the kit not just depending on on the idea the receiver has a printer because some people do not. Seems like a nice touch to be added by buying the kit!!
Love the free return option
I am an avid knitter and have a little side business. I only use Lion Brand yarns and sometimes after I receive my order I might change my mind on a pattern so I would need to return some of the yarn. Having the free return option is great.
ZERO STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE
If there’s a no star option that’s what i will give them. The WORST customer service i’ve ever encountered! OMG! I sent numerous emails and NOBODY has the audacity to respond! To top it off there is NO phone number to contact them. Its sad bec the yarn is good quality but the company itself does not even reach a 1 star! Considering how many people uses lion brand yarn, i don’t see why they let customers go through all these hassle and frustration!!! Its not fair! I reached out to all their social media platforn as well. So disappointed and stressful for me. Now, please send me my yarns or give me a refund.
Order placed on September 28th
Order placed on September 28th. Emailed customer service on Oct 13th as order status was fulfilled with no shipping information. One week later, still no information regarding my shipment and still not shipping information. Auto email to my inquiry stated my email would be addressed within 2 business days. I love the yarns, I love the patterns but will likely no longer order their product as this is the second time it's taken a month to receive an ordered product.
