New Mattress

Visited the Truro showroom, to buy a new Vispring mattress was helped to understand all the details of the bed and even moved it onto a bed frame to replicate how it would feel in my home. Very patient and kind service, when the bed arrived the delivery team were brilliant and even took my old bed away as part of the service.

Not the best experience

We purchased two lovely chairs from the Truro branch but within a couple of months the cushions had lost their shape, (the back cushions have collapsed downwards). We were subsequently advised by the showroom that this was to have been expected. This really should have been pointed out at the time we made the purchase. So sadly, not the best experience.

Thank you for taking time to leave this feedback. We are sorry that you are not happy with the look of the chair’s cushions. Dressing of cushions is required with any fibre or feather option to keep it looking its best. We did take your concerns seriously and followed this by informing the manufacturer, who appointed an independent technician that visited and found no fault in these fibre cushions.

It is our normal practice to suggest an at home visit to discuss this further if a customer is still not happy, to see if anything has been missed in the assessment or if we can help as a gesture of goodwill further.

The Truro store manager did contact you to offer this, but you haven’t accepted an appointment in our normal opening hours and did not seem to want to pursue this route with him over the telephone. Therefore, we would recommended contacting the Furniture Ombudsman for more advice and as a route for mediation. We also passed your complaint onto our managing director today who, when possible, will make contact to discuss this further. Our Best Regards.

A rewarding experience

Yet another highly successful experience with Julian Foye. The brand is reflected in everything that is presented to you.We deal with Mike Rogers at the St. Austell store.His staff, from the sales personnel, the delivery team and those working in the warehouse/distribution unit are all great personnel. They are all very professional, committed, loyal, helpful, knowledgeable and go out of their way because every transaction is successful. We have been customers for several years and every occasion

Excellent Service

Having used Julian Foye for our furniture needs on previous occasions, and always having excellent service, we visited the outlet store on Saturday for some furniture for my elderly mother.
Karen Ede was brilliant, listened to our wants and needs, and answered all our questions and queries, the goods were delivered today (Tuesday), once again the delivery boys were brilliant, nothing to much trouble.
We'll be back.

Beware ordering blinds!

Curtains well made, but blinds were fitted with a chain so short it is difficult to raise and lower them. I was told this is because people might hang themselves on a longer chain. This is less likely than me injuring myself trying to reach them. Julian Foye are unwilling to supply a longer chain. At £448 for two blinds, plus a fitting charge, I am disappointed - to put it mildly - and am unlikely to use them again. A pity, as I have 14 windows which will need new blinds and curtains over the next few years.

We are sorry we couldn’t help on this occasion but we have an obligation to supply and professionally install safe products to the legal standard. The 2014 changes to the child safety requirements of BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014 place an obligation on all in the industry to sell and install compliant products. It is stated that the blind chain/cord must be installed at least 1.5m from the floor.

Worked with Robert to find a suitable dining solution to match our existing floor. He was very helpful and helped us by loaning out their sample boards. Happy with our new set, would really recommend you give them a visit!

Awful experience

UPDATE: since posting this review, the company backtracked and agreed to refund me the £150. Really hope they change their cancellation fees policy going forward

Awful experience – Julian Foye charged an £150 cancellation fee to cancel an order I'd placed over the phone just the day before. I hadn't received the item, nothing had been made. I was devastated by this – £150 is a huge amount of money. I can't see any excuse for charging a fee like this.

Be warned that Julian Foye have a blanket policy of charging huge cancellation fees/retaining your deposit if you cancel an order, even if you cancel it before anything has been made or received.

I have written twice to the Managing Director of Julian Foye asking her to refund me, as charging excessive cancellation fees is in breach of Consumer Law (which states customers are entitled to a 14-day cooling off period to cancel an order made online or over the phone). Sadly I received no reply to my emails.

I shopped with Julian Foye to support a local Cornish business, but now I wish I had shopped elsewhere.

Deeply upset by the whole experience.

We were very impressed by the customer…

We were very impressed by the customer service, product knowledge and patience given by John at your Julian Foye St Austell branch. On our first visit we enquired as to whether interest free credit was available in store but John explained to us that it wasn't. We visited the showroom on at least 4 occasions and each time John's professionalism,warmth and expertise were in evidence. unfortunately we made the decision to purchase a new suite elsewhere only because of the benefit to us of spreading the cost on interest free terms. We feel that you are very lucky to have such dedicated staff as John & Kathy and feel a sense of regret that we couldn't give our business to a local firm.

Great company great service

I had a major problem with the settees I bought, the material was taking the die from jeans into the material. After several cordial conversations they replaced them both without argument, stunning ! The result is I allways look into Julian Foye first to buy my furniture.
