The price limits the service delivered. I have a had more than one sale complete in the last 12 months, none of them particularly complicated. Yes I received low cost conveyancing but I spent too mu... See more

The worst experience - DO NOT RECOMMEND
My fiance and I are having the worst experience with this solicitor! We do not recommend!!
We should have went with another solicitor, who's worth it - These people take no accountability for their actions and are paid for nothing!
This is what we paid for:
Failed communication with us and third parties
Delayed/no responses to email
Failed attendance to meetings - Multiple reschedules
They have backlogs with other cases so sets us behind
You have to consistently chase up
They make you angry

Avoid like the plague!
I hope this review helps all perspective customer of Inspire. I have a number of rental properties so I have experience in this area. I took a chance with Inspire as the reviews were mixed. However the experience I have had is the worst ever, for the following reasons.
1. Inspire Legal who I was passed to from Home Legal Direct, virtually never reply to emails, or phone calls. You sit in a queue for up to 45 minutes asking reception for an update on your case. When you complain, you may get lucky and get a phone update appointment with your conveyancer, but they do not always attend that appointment so you are left waiting around just in case they call.
2. The speed at which this has moved is extremely slow. Took the conveyancer 7 weeks to introduce himself! My case started on 25 Sept '24, I am still struggling to get regular updates from Inspire, in January 2025, who knows when we will complete! HLD have zero power to do anything, despite what they tell you, as others have said, they are just marketing for bad conveyancers, had I known, I would never have gone with HLD/Inspire. I have now resorted to logging an official complaint with Inspire which resulted in them emailing me a two sentence email confirming the conveyancer would review my file.
3. Without going into the detail, the emails between the solicitors is a joke, its not difficult to see why it is taking so long. I will never try to save money in this area again, you get what you pay for.
I hope this review helps you in your decision whether to use Inspire, they are quite cheap, and if you are in no rush, and have hours of spare time to keep chasing them, they may be fine for you. If Inspire write a reply trying to discredit this review, ignore it, I have nothing to gain other than making others aware of what you are likely to experience if you go with Inspire. I only wish my experience was more positive and I could comment as such.
Update 27-3-25 I have now completed the house sale but Inspire got worse not better. They actually sent the legal exchange documents with the wrong house price on them, twice! I had to ask for them to be corected just before we exchanged/completed. What are we paying for?! Right up to the day of exchange I had no way of speaking to my conveyencer, I would never use these cowboys again. I have now raised with the legal ombudsman, which anyone can easily do here via a quick google. Hope this is helpful.
Good service at excellent price
I contracted with Inspire Legal through Home Legal Direct for the sale of a second property. Their price was extremely efficient and even though the completion was late due to the fault of the buyer's conveyancer, I had no issues with prompt contact when required. Would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Overall I was pleased with the service from yourselves there was no communication for several weeks but every time I emailed or calked someone got back to me . I wouldn’t hesitate to use you again.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Inspire during our property purchase process. My partner and I have been waiting since September 2024 for three crucial documents, which are essential to completing the sale of our home. Despite multiple requests and assurances from their office that the paperwork had been sent, we have received nothing. It’s become clear that we’ve been misled, not just by the firm, but also by the seller’s solicitor, who has repeatedly claimed the documents were in order when they were not.
As we are purchasing the property without a chain, we anticipated a smooth process, but this unnecessary delay is jeopardizing our mortgage agreement, which will expire in six weeks. The lack of professionalism and failure to act swiftly has caused us considerable stress and concern, as we now face the risk of losing our mortgage deal and incurring additional costs.
We are now at a point where it feels like the firm is deliberately stalling, and it’s unacceptable. We had hoped for a straightforward transaction, but this has been a frustrating and costly experience.
I strongly advise caution when considering Inspire as their lack of transparency and failure to meet even the most basic expectations have caused us significant inconvenience.

Inspire legal were great with me and my partner. As first time buyers the whole process seemed super daunting but they kept us in the loop from start to finish and were always available to answer any questions we had!
Useless
I am selling a house. My buyer was using these Solicitor group. After over six months they could not organise a simple sale from a cash buyer. Do not consider using them under any circumstances. Regarding your threat of the police, more than happy to share my solicitors and estate agent emails with them. Truth is not malicious. I note this has taken you several weeks to respond to this.

A nightmare from start to finish… AVOID!!!!
A nightmare from start until the day of completion. Arranged with both solicitors for a moving date, all packed and ready to receive keys and could not get in touch with Inspire legal (which was a constant theme throughout) on the move date to only find out they had not even applied for funds despite having 80k of our money for nearly a week. Absolutely no common courtesy or sympathy for customers situation or that their work effects people’s lives. A no chain purchase dragged out to 5 months and despite around 30+ calls for a simple call back for an update, the only time I received a call from the administration in charge of my case was the day they wanted the completion money. It got to the point I had to travel 4 hours to visit the branch in person just to see if the company was a genuine company. In fairness the CEO arranged for IL to get on top of our case it this was extremely short lived. Could go on with more reasons this company will add to the stress and pressure of moving houses

Absolutely shocking! AVOID!!!
Absolutely shocking!! Initially went through these solicitors for purchasing a property with no chain. Solicitor James Carroll constantly ignored messages for months. The sellers solicitors could not even contact them. Had to call so many times/ different people just to even get a single response. Never got an update unless we continuously chased. Six months down the line and was still waiting for things to be completed always just had an out of office automated response to all emails it was extremely frustrating!
Eventually had to transfer the work to another solicitor to who carried out the work in a timely manner. Avoid this company at all costs, if i had an option for 0 stars it would have been that!!!!!!

The conveyancer was very friendly and helpful. The process took a little longer than I had expected but I am very pleased with the outcome.
A plot of land that I've tried to purchase several times in the past is now mine.
Do not use this company
Over 6 months for a simple sale of one leasehold flat with no chain.
Legal team never answered their phones or returned calls. 40 odd calls to 4 people each time
Emails barely answered, never fully,
Information required by buyers solicitors not investigated for at least 5 months
Delay in being paid when it finally went through 1 day before buyers mortgage offer expired.
The worst company we have ever dealt with.
No words
***EDIT- I am a real client and the company know this, I wonder how many of their clients have emigrated to Australia. The fact that they are denying this shows what type of company they are***
I don't know where to start.
Our case was started in May and we gave clear instructions we were emigrating in September/october & the sale would need to go through by then. We weren't in a chain, neither was our buyers..straight forward you might think?
Communication is non existent.
Formal complaint was lodged in September which has STILL not been acknowledged.
We had a change in solicitor but wasn't informed about this until I finally managed to speak to someone.
Manager was rude. Never spoken to a solicitor (in no other profession would you get away with not speaking to your clients).
They have breached their code of conduct on numerous occasions!
Our house sale completed yesterday and they haven't paid us the money for the sale. We are currently in austrailia trying to start again and this is stress we did not need.
Trust me when I say AVOID!

Recent sale & purchase
Recently James, Natalie and the rest of the team dealt with a sale and purchase for us. It was not totally straightforward as our purchaser and his solicitor (a large well known international law firm of which the solicitor used was a partner) were particularly rude, obnoxious, and impossible to contact, trying to change the original agreed terms of sale on a few occasions - making the whole process very painful. We found James and his team at Inspire to be very polite and professional and had no worries at all about their competence or ability. They dealt with this situation well and guided us through the process and kept in touch when it was necessary to do so. The 4 star rating is purely down to the fact that at times they were difficult to contact and as our sale (and purchase) were challenging at times we just needed reassurance that all was on track. Had it not been for the issues with contact we would have rated 5 stars. Overall we believe we had excellent value for money.
Absolutely shocking - why do Home Legal Direct use this firm?
Inspire Legal are without fear of contradiction the worst company I have ever had dealings with in my 58 years on the planet.
Communication is non existent unless you threaten to drive all the way to Scarborough and bang on their door!
So far I have had 9 promises of a call back - two missed scheduled calls that they arranged with me! I have also had an admission that my file sat on someone’s desk for 3 weeks and no one even looked at it! Also countless unanswered emails.
My formal complaint I made in writing has not even been acknowledged after more than 2 weeks.
I have had to pay for all my possessions to be put into storage as my house is sold. I will now have to pay for a second removal fee when they eventually complete!
8 weeks in now for a simple cash sale and I am still very much in the dark. I am living in a temporary accommodation and I have now booked to go abroad all because Inspire Legal don’t do what you pay them to do.
Please don’t make the mistake I made trusting them with your home purchase.
Thankfully this will be my first and last dealings with Inspire Legal
Absolutely shocking!
I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the appalling service provided by Inspire Legal Group. From the very beginning, the lack of communication and basic competence displayed by their team has been shocking. It’s clear that client care is not a priority for this firm.
Despite numerous attempts to get updates on our case, emails and calls went unanswered for weeks on end. We were left completely in the dark, with no information on the progress of our matter. This level of unresponsiveness is not only unprofessional, but it caused us significant stress and delays. It’s unacceptable for a legal firm to treat its clients with such disregard.
After growing increasingly concerned, we were forced to submit a formal complaint. It’s been weeks since we sent that, and still, we’ve had no acknowledgment or response. This shows a total lack of respect for their clients and an inability to handle issues or complaints.
The sheer incompetence of their staff is staggering. Simple tasks were mishandled, and errors were made, which we had to point out ourselves. It was clear that they had no control over our case, and no one seemed to care about fixing the problems they caused.
We deeply regret ever using Inspire Legal Group. If you’re looking for a firm that values your time, communicates effectively, and provides competent legal services, look elsewhere. This firm is an absolute disaster, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
Absolutely terrible company. I wish there was a zero star rating option
Do not use this company. They are terrible to deal with. They ignore calls and emails and never get back to you. They will make things worse for you, not better, and will probably mean you lose your sale or purchase as they simply do not care. They should not be able to trade this way. In the end I had to cancel the service and start with another Solicitor. Avoid at all costs.
Terrible company
Terrible company, no communication at all with anybody there(James Carroll mainly), no return of calls or emails, if home legal try and set you up with them run a mile!
Might lose the chain we are in because of them!
Absolutely first class
I've read through some of the other reviews in relation to this firm, but just can't relate to any of it.
Our experience of ILG was absolutely first class.
Whatever there was that we didn't quite understand, James and his team were able to clarify everything, every step of the way.
We were updated on a regular basis so we knew at what stage the conveyancing process was at.
This was our first experience with a property conveying process, and I/we, can't fault ILG for the way they handled that process.
Well done ILG, and James, so please keep up the great work.
