Lovely cottage with great views
Lovely cottage with great views. Close to Glenridding & amenities. Good base for exploring the Lakes.
The views are simply stunning
There is certainly a 'wow factor' to Stybarrow Fold, the views are simply stunning which not even the photos can do justice to. We were blessed with sun all week and it is a perfect spot to explore the lakes from. Good local walks too, up to Orrest Head or for even better views, Wansfell Pike. It is just a 15mins walk via off-road path to Windermere which has plenty of cafes / shops / pubs. We used Low Wood Bay Watersports for Kayak / Paddle Board hire and they were excellent. All beds were very comfortable and lots of space inside and out for the extended family / friends, it even has Sky Sports!

Lovely (and wheelchair-friendly) Welsh Farmhouse holiday
As a family of 5 adults (or very nearly adults), we had a lovely stay, no doubt enhanced by the fantastic weather for our week. One of my children is a wheelchair user, and the ground floor bedroom and en-suite wet room were ideal for her needs. The Welcome basket of Welsh goodies was a lovely touch, and was very welcome. I enjoyed the Ale after a long drive from Somerset on our first day! Although we didn't use them, it was good to see a selection of family DVDs already in the cottage, as well as a Wii console. There was a lovely garden with picnic benches and extensive views al round. The Slate Mill down the road was fascinating, and there are numerous footpaths in the vicinity (although some of them were overgrown and/or blocked. One of the highlights was staying up late at night and star-gazing in this Dark Sky area. As an enthusiast photographer, I was thrilled to get my first ever successful picture of the Milky Way. All in all a lovely week that came to an end too soon. We don't often go back to holiday venues but can certainly see us returning to this one.
Rotten food found on the floor but that's ok!!
Rotten food found on the floor of our property, litter, standing water growing life and smelt foul, poorly managed equipment that was a huge health and safety risk, and rusty utensils given in the kitchen, but when raised with Holiday Cottages they deem all of the above acceptable (even after viewing photographs evidencing this) and will not offer any compensation or refund for it. Do not recommend at all!!!!

We had a lovely week in the cottage
We had a lovely week in the cottage. The garden is fantastic, really large and plenty of garden furniture. The cottage is great. The bedrooms are lovely, good sizes and comfy. The kitchen is really well stocked, plenty of crockery and cutlery, we weren't short of anything. If you have children then the second lounge has plenty of things to keep them entertained. The cottage is just across the road from a great pub, fab food and we had no noise or disturbance. The location is ideal for the area, with most places only 10-15 miles away.
We loved the location as we could walk to the beach
We loved the location as we could walk down to the shingle beach in a couple of minutes.
The cottage worked well for 6 adults. We appreciated it all being on one level & having good parking for 3 cars. When we arrived all was clean and tidy, also the kitchen was well equipped.
We would recommend this cottage to friends

Fantastic place to stay
Fantastic place to stay. The property was clean, had everything you needed and comfy beds. There was plenty of walking to be done straight from the property and easy to access the surrounding area. The welcome pack was amazing and we look forward to visiting again at some point.
