Would give zero stars if I could! This place tortures their animals and chops them up whilst still conscious. They break so many animal welfare laws and the people who work here are serial killers in the making. They electrocute them in their private parts which is illegal and causes them so much pain and they do this over and over to the same animals. They laugh at them when they're clearly terrified and berrate them. They put the dead animals in front of the live ones to scare them. Absolutely barbaric! This place needs shut down! Do not buy meat from here!

Hartshead Meats allows the dismemberment of animals in their abattoir while still conscious/alive. The amount of suffering inflicted by their workers while being witnessed by a vet and other animal welfare officials is beyond inhumane. Workers mock and laugh at the pain and suffering they inflict on the animals. This establishment need to be closed down to avoid more unnecessary suffering.

This company claimed the incensing censored footage released recently that is circulating online, had been “selectively edited” and “grossly misrepresents” its operations, insisting the material lacked “essential context” and distorted what it described as standard industry practices.

A spokesperson acting on behalf of Hartshead Meats told local media: “We recognise that people may be concerned by footage circulating online which grossly misrepresents what we do and how we do it.

“It has been recorded without consent and selectively edited. As a result, this footage lacks essential context and presents a distorted picture of standard industry working practices.”

The statement comes just days after the Food Standards Agency confirmed it had already taken enforcement action against individuals working at the site following review of CCTV footage covering slaughter operations inside the facility.The controversy is now intensifying scrutiny on Britain’s religious slaughter exemptions and raising fresh questions over how alleged welfare breaches were able to occur inside a licensed slaughterhouse operating under official supervision.

The whole world needs to see both the uncensored and censored versions of the undercover footage that was released about this hideous place. All forms of slaughter under one roof; halal kosher & British standard. Cutting the heads of fully conscious cows whilst they bellow in agony and fear should not be considered normal under any circumstance, and needs to be outright banned. The owners of this organisation were aggressive when confronted. They are profiting from the illegal practises of animal management but trying to maintain their innocence and control. This is unacceptable. Whether you eat meat or not, anyone can see that this organisation is breaking laws and needs to be shut down.

Shame on you Hartshead Meats and shame on anyone still sending animals there. Heartbreaking beyond words.

Absolutely no regard for animal welfare legislation.

Currently under investigation by the local authorities, environmental agency, GMP and the FCA who are leading an investigation into the compliance of animal welfare. There is online undercover footage showing extreme animal abuse, where cows have been dismembered whilst still alive. Horrific scenes of abuse and violence against animals.

These people are the lowest form of human life. They are extremely sadistic animal abusers!! They cut off cows heads fully conscious and then laugh about it. Bring back the death penalty for dangerous individuals like this lot.

This company are currently under investigation for dismembering animals whilst they are alive and conscious. Do not send your animals to this slaughter house. After watching the Joey Carbstrong video of the workers cutting off heads and limbs off cows and electrically probing them whilst still alive and parading them in front of other cows awaiting their fate is beyond cruel. All this happened in front of FSA officials and vets, everyone at HH meats and those officials plus those sending their livestock/purchasing meat should hang their heads in shame. Evil people. Well done Joey for highlighting this cruelty.

Hidden away behind a scrapyard & now we know why. Horrific animal abuse & suffering goes on here. Any companies that are trading with these people need to think again. Staff that get a kick out of seeing animals suffer. outrageous that they are still aloud to trade. Avoid at all costs. The owners don't care! still transporting cows in there in the blistering heat, they were throffing at the mouth. No regards for animal welfare whatsoever, just profit! These poor animals are spending their last moments on life in pain & terrified

Doesn’t abide by a single rule so doesn’t even deserve the one star… animals are transported there in temperatures over 30 degrees C. ; no checks for consciousness before being hoisted, resulting in animals being full aware while being dismembered; heads cut off in the stunning box of a fully conscious cow; mockery of the employees towards the cows; suspicion of kosher and halal meat potentially being fed back into the standard processed meat. Reviews placed on their site are not representative as only positive reviews pass their gateway. Not to be trusted!

This company is complicit in the abuse of animals. Anyone who has seen Joey Carbstrongs footage will know. There is no place in this world for people like this. It is sick what they are doing and they need to be shut down immediately.

This place needs to be closed down permanently the poor animals that are suffering at the hands of these psychotic people is appalling and are all laughing about it too pure evil nasty employees and owner they all need locking up sick 😫 😭😭WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
