HandicapMD.com provides convenient online medical evaluations to help people take the medical certification step for disability parking placards and related parking accommodations, when eligible. We’re a private telehealth service—not a DMV or government agency—and the official issuing authority in your state ultimately approves and issues any placard or credential. Our goal is to make a confusing process feel simple and respectful. Many people who need accessible parking are juggling pain, mobility limitations, fatigue, post-surgical recovery, heart or lung conditions, neurologic symptoms, or other challenges that make walking long distances unsafe or unrealistic. We help by guiding patients through a structured online intake, reviewing relevant health information, and completing the clinician portion of the required paperwork when medical criteria are met. We also aim to explain “what happens next” so you know how to submit your completed documentation to the correct issuing authority and avoid common delays. We take privacy seriously and design our process to be straightforward, professional, and easy to follow. If you have questions along the way, our support team is here to help you understand requirements, timelines, and next steps—without judgment. HandicapMD exists to reduce friction in the medical certification step, improve clarity, and help eligible individuals access the parking accommodations they need.

Highly Recommend SDI Services with HandicapMD!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with HandicapMD and Dr. Jackson-Scott. After struggling for months, I felt completely defeated because my regular doctor refused to approve my SDI. he simply didn’t understand my limitations or the impact my condition has on my daily life. I left every appointment feeling dismissed and unheard.

That all changed when I connected with HandicapMD.

From the moment I met Dr. Jackson-Scott, I felt truly listened to for the first time. He was incredibly compassionate, patient, and thorough. He took the time to understand my symptoms, how they affect my ability to work, and the realistic challenges I face. Instead of brushing off my concerns, he validated them.

Dr. Jackson-Scott completed my SDI paperwork promptly and accurately, and I genuinely felt like he cared about my well-being. His professionalism and empathy made an emotionally stressful process so much easier. I am beyond grateful for his support and expertise.

If you’re struggling to get your SDI approved or feeling dismissed by your current provider, I highly recommend HandicapMD and Dr. Jackson-Scott. Their service has been a true lifesaver for me.

Thank you again — your help is so deeply appreciated

AVOID THIS COMPANY

Additional update: Got multiple threats from this company after writing this review and disputing with bank, including threats for fees that are illegal under CA state law. My bank sided with me due to overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing. So don't let them gaslight you when they break promises.

UPDATE: Hours after posting this review, HandicapMD contacted me for the first time in 7 days.
The provider claimed "none of the clinics in California are completing these evaluations within days — that simply isn't how the process works anywhere in the state."
This is a lie.
After HandicapMD failed to deliver, I hired California Psychological Associates. Dr. Eric M. Greene completed my identical EDD disability certification the same day (November 21, 2025). My EDD claim was continued the next morning, with the payment immediately sent out to me.

HandicapMD's response proves their pattern:

Ghost customers while taking their money
Only respond when customer takes action (dispute/review)
Gaslight customers with provably false claims
Attempt to discredit legitimate complaints

This response strengthens my complaint rather than refuting it.

AVOID THIS COMPANY - They prey on disabled people facing urgent deadlines.
What Happened:

Advertised price: "$189 per month for ongoing certification"
Actual charge: $756 upfront ($189 + $567 for "2-4th month" - unauthorized future charges)
Services delivered: ZERO

The Appointment (November 17, 2025):
The doctor was 20 minutes late to the telehealth appointment. When he finally joined, he used classic emotional manipulation tactics:

"I can hear it in your voice how much this has been for you"
"I don't see any reason why you'd be disqualified"
"We will reach out if we need any more info"

These reassurances were designed to make me feel heard and safe - to ensure I wouldn't dispute the charge. They were lies.

Timeline:

November 17: Paid $756 immediately, had telehealth appointment
Provider said forms would be done "most likely by Friday, November 21"
Provider said "if we need anything else we will reach out to you"
November 21 (Friday, 2:05 PM): Sent status update request via patient portal
Message marked "Delivered" but NEVER ANSWERED
November 21 (Friday, 9:13 PM): Still no forms, no communication
I was forced to hire emergency alternative provider same day for $750 to meet my California EDD deadline. If I hadn't, my entire claim would have been closed and multiple months of benefits lost.

Total financial harm: $1,506 ($756 to HandicapMD for nothing + $750 for actual service)

The Pattern:
After reading other reviews here, I see this is HandicapMD's business model:

Charge inflated prices upfront (often more than advertised)
Promise fast completion
Go completely silent
Force desperate disabled people to pay someone else or miss critical deadlines
Refuse refunds using illegal contract terms

Illegal Contract Terms:
Their Terms of Use (which I signed under deadline pressure) include:

$99 "dispute fee" for filing legitimate consumer complaints
Threat to "withhold clinician-signed forms until dispute is withdrawn" (illegal retaliation)
60-day wait requirement designed to exhaust credit card dispute windows
"No refunds" even if they fail to deliver services

Red Flags I Missed:

My bank's fraud detection system flagged the $756 charge as suspicious
The provider's name (Dr. Eric Jackson-Scott) appears in other negative reviews about non-delivery
Multiple recent reviews describe identical experiences

Why This is Particularly Harmful:
HandicapMD targets disabled people who:

Face strict government deadlines (EDD, Social Security, placard renewals)
Have limited alternatives because regular doctors won't complete disability paperwork
Are desperate and under time pressure
Can't afford to lose disability income

If You're Considering HandicapMD:
DON'T. Find a local provider who will help. Yes, it's harder. Yes, it takes longer to schedule. But you'll actually get your forms completed.

If You've Already Paid HandicapMD:

File a credit card/debit card dispute immediately
File a complaint with your state Attorney General
File an FTC complaint at reportfraud.ftc.gov
Don't wait for them to respond - they won't

My bank flagged this transaction as fraudulent before I even received the service. The bank's own security systems recognized this charge as suspicious. They were right.

Your post is not an accurate account of what occurred. We will respond directly and clearly, without sharing protected health information.

Summary of what happened
You contacted us for urgent help, you completed a telehealth evaluation, you were provided the completed SDI certification signed by our clinician, and only after receiving the delivered documentation you attempted to reverse the charge through a bank dispute while publicly claiming you received no service. The documentation, delivery records, and dispute outcome do not support the version of events described in your review.

Below is a point by point response.

Pricing and authorization
The total price was presented at checkout before you paid. The amount charged was not added later and was not an unauthorized surprise charge. The purchase record reflects what was selected and authorized at the time of payment.

Services were rendered
You completed the telehealth evaluation with our clinician. That evaluation is the service you purchased and it occurred as scheduled.

SDI certification was completed and delivered
The SDI certification was completed under our clinicians name and signature and was delivered to you. The signed document itself is the clearest proof of who completed the certification, and it is not consistent with the claim of 'zero services delivered'.

The claim of zero services is incorrect
Your review repeatedly states "services delivered: ZERO." That statement is contradicted by the completed evaluation and the completed SDI certification that was issued and delivered to the State within days of your evaluation. The doctor mentioned in your reviews DID NOT complete your SDI certification after the evaluation with HandicapMD as the clear and truthful documentation indicates this was completed by our provider.

The dispute was filed after delivery
After the SDI certification was delivered, you initiated a bank dispute seeking a reversal of charges despite the service having been provided. That sequence is not a good faith use of the dispute process.

The bank decision reflects the evidence
When a dispute is filed, the bank reviews purchase authorization and proof of service delivery. In this case, the decision was made based on the documentation submitted and the record of what was delivered - in HandicapMDs favor - NOT yours!!

Claims about another provider completing the SDI certification do not match the signed document
The SDI certification on file bears our clinicians name and signature. The outside provider referenced in your review is not the signing clinician on the certification we delivered. The signed certification is the source of truth.

Allegations of threats, retaliation, or illegal conduct
We maintain professional, documented communications. If you believe a specific message was inappropriate, that message should be presented to the appropriately for review. Public accusations do not change the purchase record, delivery record, or the signed documentation.

We stand by the documented facts: the pricing was disclosed at purchase, the evaluation occurred, the SDI certification was completed and delivered, and the dispute was filed after delivery while the review claimed no services were provided. Your bank made the right decision based on the truthful and verifiable documentation. Our team is considering other avenues for the fasle and defaming malicious comments.

Excellent service for those who need it

Today I received my handicap placard from my state's DMV. The entire process took about a month. I did have to upload my medical records. Dr. Jackson-Scott missed our video appointment at first, but called me shortly thereafter and apologized. He was so kind and listened to all of my concerns. I was approved the same day. I am very thankful for this service because it's difficult for me to attend in-person appointments.

The general process step by step was easy to follow through the portal. Also, the office remained responsive throughout the process so I knew what to expect. My Dr was very professional, and had read my charts before we met. Would recommend to others.

The doctor and staff were great

The doctor and staff were great. At first the doctor did not make the call on time however he quickly called me back letting me know he had another meeting go on longer than usual. Its great when people are able to follow up versus leaving you in the dark. The doctor was very understanding and made the process easy and painless. I would definitely recommend coming here.

The doctor is a real person

The doctor is a real person. Meaning he will listen and evaluate you medically with a heart and realistic expectations. He is for the people. This was the best decision as other doctors have diagnosed me with conditions but fail to take the time to give the accommodations needed. Even when there were questions, and revision needed (requested from my job) he acted fast and was personable. Thank you for the gentle hand, sir!
