I got €150 fine due to their crappy app. After sending them email, they mentioned:
“ The fine was issued due to the fact you have parked the car at an public parking spot for charging an electric car and did not connect the car to the charing point”
This could easily be mentioned in their app, especially since there’s a specific parking space for each car which has a charging station.
I’ll definitely not use their service again, and recommend everyone else to avoid that as well.

Registered and paid but no service
I have completed my registration and the €100 deposit is deducted from my bank account. But I can't sign in. No confirmation emails were sent to me. The Forgot password button also doesn't work. They don't send emails to refresh password. The call center said there are no emails or Klantnummer, OV cart number as specified. But I have the money paid with that assigned Klantnummer... it's been days, The contact from from website also is useless, I've sent 10 emails and requests and no response for days.
It's frustrating and feels like SCAMMING

Convenient service
Registration is extremely quick and easy, as is reservation, rates are very reasonable, and at least in major cities there is a good offering of both electric/automatic transmission and petrol/manual transmission vehicles around the area. Would be 5 stars if the vehicles were cleaned more often and didn't always have low tyre pressure warnings, as well as some other occasional issues such as failing to charge. Fortunately, any time there has been a significant issue with a vehicle, service has been very quick to respond. Would also be nice if each model of car came with a simple guide to its different minor functions such as adjusting the side mirrors, using the phone holder present in some cars, etc. Overall I would recommend Greenwheels, especially for frequent local trips, but allow some extra time if you need to be punctual in case you run into issues or confusion with the vehicle.

Greenwheels saved my holiday
I booked a large Greenwheels car to go on Xmas holiday to England. Unfortunately, we got a flat tire as we were driving on the motor way. After parking the car at the next service station, I called Greenwheels and within 30min a service car pulled up and replaced the tire (instead of just filling the hole) in just a few minutes. All in all we were safely back on the road within 1 hour and still managed to get our boat to in England on time.
I know a flat tire can happen to anyone, but it could have been stressful situation with 2 young children in the car. However, thanks to the quick help from the call centre and the service engineer we could still continue our holiday without a worry - thanks!

Reserved car was not there
I booked a car that never arrived as it was “stuck in traffic”. As I called them to ask what to do, they cancelled my booking and placed a new booking for an electric car nearby. The car was not charged. I had to sit and wait for the car to charge before using it. It was ridiculous. Never again.

Frustrating and Inconvenient…
I had a terrible experience with Greenwheels in Amsterdam/Amstelveen. To create an account, you need to deposit €100, but it’s not clearly stated upfront that this money is only returned if you cancel your account—and even then, you have to wait a minimum of 8 weeks to get it back.
We picked up a car in Amsterdam Centrum to drive home to Amstelveen, but when we tried to park in Amstelveen, the app directed us to a parking spot 18 km away. What’s the logic behind that?
The next day, we had to pay again to use the car just to return it to a designated parking location far from our home, which completely defeats the purpose of using Greenwheels for convenience.
If you’re looking for a practical solution to a mobility problem, I don’t recommend Greenwheels. Renting a car or calling an Uber will save you time, money, and frustration!

What an experience
I got the car, drove around, and parked it again. It was great. What an experience.

Clean car
Clean car, response on any issues if you call. Mostly you can do everything with your phone and ov travel card. Not Available some of the times, which is frustrating. But if I plan ahead,.. and then sometimes it IS available when it helps a lot to have a car. Especially when it is well maintained and hopefully we sharers take good care.

The most horrible rental car services…
Maybe not the best service in town. We waste on an average 20 -30 mins calling them because something is not working. Example - Car is not opening and then they ask you to book another one. Give you second car which don’t start.
It’s not one time bad experience. It’s everytime. They are the cheapest so you end up getting them but you pay through your time and mental peace. They need to get their act together.

Very easy to use the Greenwheels app…
Very easy to use the Greenwheels app for booking a car. The locality of the car was good and accessing and using the car was very straightforward.

I don't trust Greenwheels with my money
You need to pay the deposit to see how the app works. I paid, but chose not to rent a car. To get your deposit back, you still have to wait 30 days until your subscription (to nothing) can be cancelled, and then another 8 weeks to get your deposit back in case you got a fine (for not driving). The company evidently wants to raise capital and customer loyalty with this trap.
Well, I cancelled my account and waited 30 days + 10 weeks, and still didn't receive my deposit back. And that is why I'm leaving this review.

Nice rent-a-car
When you don't want to own a car, but need it for some random dates (not many times), Greenwheels is amazing, because it allows you to drive wherever you want to go, without the hassle of a normal rent-a-car and you can do it for 1 hour, or for days! If you compare it to owning a car, each trip might be a bit more expensive, but you only need to worry the time you're using it. After you do not have to worry about insurance, maintenance, gas, taxes, and so more... For me it's really worth it!! I totally recommend it to anyone that doesn't need a car on a daily basis, only on certain situations.

Smooth and fair car sharing
I regularly use Greenwheels and in general I like {almost} everything. Booking process is smooth and clear - never had any issue with the app. Pricing is transparent- never had any hidden charges. The only drawback is that all the cars in Greenwheels are a bit outdated by modern standards, but if your use-case requires short rides (10-30 km), it doesn't matter so much what kind of car you ride. For longer rides I normally choose a different company with more modern cars.

Unfair Fine and Poor Customer Service Experience
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Greenwheels. I rented a car that was not clean when I picked it up—there was noticeable dirt and dog hair on the floor. Since I do not own a dog, it's clear the mess was left by a previous user.
I was in a hurry and couldn't find a straightforward way to report the unclean car through the app. Unlike other car-sharing services I've used, Greenwheels' app did not prompt me to report the car's condition upon starting my reservation. I expected a user-friendly feature to report such issues, but it was not easily accessible.
Two days later, I received an email stating that I was being fined €75 for leaving the car unclean, based on a report from the next user. I immediately contacted customer service to explain the situation, emphasizing that the car was already dirty and that I had no way to report it promptly. Unfortunately, their response was unsympathetic, and they refused to waive the fine, citing their terms and conditions.
What frustrates me the most is the lack of understanding and flexibility from Greenwheels. I believe it's unfair to penalize customers for something beyond their control, especially when the reporting mechanism is not user-friendly. This experience has left me questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction.
I hope Greenwheels will consider improving their app's functionality and customer service policies to prevent similar situations for other users.
