Avoid
WARNING. Do not deal with this company whether it’s Malta Island Cars / KWL / City Go / BSP Auto / GotRentalCars or whatever other name this dodgy company trades under. They will take full payment then 24 hours before your booking starts will try to take more money out of your account. When they are unsuccessful (like with us) they will cancel your booking. I won’t hold by breath on getting the £129 back that I originally paid.

Day of cancellation
Cancelled my booking the morning of my rental (1 hour before collecting)!
Not acceptable!
easy as pie and great prices.
DREADFUL - DO NOT USE.
Gotrentacar is an agent. The booking process was fine - and a great price. I took the extra insurance with them rather than taking it out with the car hire company. First, the car hire company was dreadful - (RENTAL PREMIUM of Fiumicino). I lost the €500 deposit due to an apparent scatch on the car. It was also not cleaned on return. I've been hiring cars for almost 50 years and have NEVER had to return the car cleaned. Whether or not the scratch was there before is immaterial, as I paid for cover. GOTCARRENTAL have been appaling. It's been almost two months and I am still battling with them to be paid. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY.

I had a very very bad experience with…GOT RENTAL CARS
I had a very very bad experience with Got Rental Cars.
I booked a rental car that advertised a 100% credit refund if canceled within 48 hours. Within that 48-hour period, I called because rental rates at my destination airport had dropped by $200+ and I wanted to understand my cancellation and credit options before making any decision.
I spent about 25 minutes on the phone with a customer service representative who could not explain the company's cancellation or credit policy. She gave me conflicting information about the cancellation fee, first saying it might be around $120, then saying it could be $220. She could not speak to the 100% refund policy at all.
Because she couldn't tell me exactly what the refund or credit would be, I decided it made more sense to keep my existing reservation rather than risk canceling and ending up paying more overall. I clearly told her, "Just leave the reservation in place."
To my surprise, she responded, "Oh, I canceled it."
I immediately told her that I had not authorized the cancellation and asked her to reinstate the reservation. She said she couldn't and hung up on me.
I was then charged $220, and the company later claimed I had not canceled within the required time period. I have my phone records showing I called within the 48-hour window.
The most frustrating part of this experience was that the company's own representative could not explain its cancellation policy, yet I was still charged after she canceled my reservation without my authorization. She really didn't give a darn and just wanted to get off the phone.
In my experience, companies such as Expedia and major airlines clearly explain their cancellation policies and allow customers to make informed decisions.
Based on what happened, I would never do business with this company again.
Easy to book at a reasonable price with…
Easy to book at a reasonable price with extra insurance 👌
Good to book hope the rental is as easy.
1 Star
1 Star – Very disappointing experience
I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to think carefully.
When my family and I arrived to collect our hire car, we were told our booking had been cancelled, despite it still showing as confirmed. We were left stranded at the airport with no suitable help or solution offered.
Because of this, we had to arrange a hotel, pay for taxis, and book another hire car the following day at a much higher cost, leaving us significantly out of pocket.
I submitted a formal complaint, but I have still not received a satisfactory response or a refund. Even after everything that happened, I was later told they were still checking whether I had collected the original car, despite the fact that no car was ever provided.
I am now pursuing the matter through my credit card provider to recover my money.
This was an extremely stressful experience for my family, and based on what happened to us, I cannot recommend this company.
