Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Their easy pay service is unreal. They sent my bill to the wrong number at the bank and then charged me a late fee of $30.00. It took me all of 2 days to finally get a human on the phone. She was cold and very uncaring and unknowledgeable. Her name was Michelle and when I asked to speak to a manager she said she was the supervisor. I wouldn’t even give any stars at all if possible!😝

In fact, for 10 months, I have tried to get them to correctly set up my banking and/or credit card info. Whatever they want. I have NO problems with any of my OTHER Utility companies. ONLY FPL. Spectrum, Toho, KUA, etc....NO problems.
I feel like a thirsty person in the middle of the desert...begging for water. (Here...take the money). :)
They just won't do it....and keep me in suspension. So...after 10 months of this, I decide to drive to their offices. THERE ARE NONE! In fact, they have "stations" where they refer to them as "offices."
What they do have....is a "call center" in Miami. The SAME CALL CENTER who won't correct my account.

Terrible company, but no other option
In what was thankfully my last interaction with FPL due to moving out of state. I was hit with a $2600 bill, which was accrued due to issues with their own meters being unable to read my electricity usage. For months ahead of the move, I attempted to get a better idea of how to extend the payment deadline due to the large sum of money. I received different answers, the best of which was "we'll just have to wait and see." Upon receiving my final bill, I was given 3 weeks to pay the amount in full.
I managed to receive a slightly better extension (one more week) after navigating a familiar process - trying to reach a representative after being repeatedly told that speaking with a human was not an option by their unhelpful automated answer system.
As a resident of Florida for more than 30 years, this was representative of FPL's modus operandi: extract as much money from your customers as possible, offer substandard service, deny accountability, and use your own failures to extract a bit more. Thankfully for FPL, which is effectively a state monopoly, the options for Floridians include dealing with it or moving to another state.
FPL Engineer Hahaha
FPL installed guy wires incorrectly on my property from the hydro pole. The guy wires were to support the pole, and be placed in the right of way not on my property. They pull the pole north instead of pulling the pole east as the pole is leaning to the west, and apparently this was installed by an “engineer” lol (very scary thought). The dumb dumb placed the wires directly through my newly planted hedge and into my newly laid sod without notifying me of the intention to do so, now we have the name of the engineer and have spoken to him, he goes in circles, argues and still to this day (one month later) not gone out to see the problem nor address the issues even with the photos I have provided. He keeps trying to blame Comcast, Comcast does not work to support FPL poles I have spoken with Comcast Equipment Repairs. What do you do in this case to get the problem resolved I ask you. Better still try to reach a live agent or customer service representative they don’t want to speak with you. When setting up your new FPL account they “automatically” enroll you in something called HomeServe without your knowledge apparently an affiliate of FPL in other words a third party electrical insurance provider for inside your home. That alone is outrageous you don’t know you have it til you see your bill what a flipping scam! FPL can pay for messing up my new landscaping and I am positive there is recourse for illegally enrolling someone in insurance without their consent! Totally infuriating. They need competition. Please someone bring in a customer service oriented power company so FPL can have “a run for their money”
Not reliable assistance

Well we never got our bill in the mail and every time we went to the FPL website to see how much our bill was and pay it it kept saying wrong account number so without a shut off notice they shut our electric off at 1:30 my fiancé called me right away and I had to call and pay with her card over the phone and get charged another 3 dollars that was at 2:30 and they never came back out to reconnect it and it is now 98 degrees in my house. I called and they said they had 24 hours to come and hook it back up. So now we sit here waiting all night because we can't sleep its to hot. And I bet those A-holes don't show up till 10am tomorrow. If we are lucky. How can a business with a 1.4 rating keep its business going Did I mention my fiancé is handy capped and can't be stressed or she will have seizures well she has had 2 tonight already.

No Customer Service
We make our payments on time every month but their people cannot figure out how to keep track of our account. There is a ridiculous snafu every couple of months with our bill.
And my husband keeps trying to call to clarify that we are paid up, but he keeps getting disconnected while on hold.
FPL - fix your systems!!!
PS- several years ago their survey crew punched a hole in our irrigation system. We called and got nowhere with them.

Same 68 customers lose power on a daily basis. This has been going on for the past 20 years and FPL can't seem to fix it. They said they made upgrades recently but the problem is worse. We lose power 2 to 7 times a day. My wine cooker and microwave have been replaced 3 times due to this. FPL won't take responsibility for them causing this. They are the worst and they keep asking for price increases.

I made all my payments on time the Co waited 5 even 6 days to process the payments other $$ went out of the account due to their lack of processing they say 2-3 business days not 5/6 so because of this my payments came back and they bumped me off their system to make payments through a debit service for fees of course, I live in a small apartment in the last 2 months have had to pay upeards of $500 Im being extorted can never get a live agent to talk to. If Im late one day they hit me for late fees. Their service sucks

Complete Incompetence
I have to demolish my home due to a flood so I have to deal with FP&L to have the power turned off and removed from the house before demolition. It has been a nightmare from the beginning. My builder gave up on the process and asked me to try to handle it and now after almost two weeks of calling, emailing, setting up additional accounts and portals I am being told that they will MAIL me an invoice, then I MAIL them back a check and THEN one to two weeks later they will remove the power from the house. If you think dealing with a government is bad, try FP&L.

Negligent, even when knowing that lives are at stake. I reported them twice that there was a gutter hanging from electric cable connecting the street pole to my own home and they limited themselves to create "ticket" but never to fix the dangerous situation.

Horrendous experience with sickening, ignorant recording. It used to be good. I, and others on Baylor Ct , Cocoa, FL, suffered with an 11 hour power outage, while my neighboring streets enjoyed a.c., cooking, etc. This is the same ordeal that my Mom had to put up with. In 2004, she went 13 days without power, while neighbors had electricity. This is CRUEL!

It was always so easy to pay your bills online. Now it's an hour just to get to your account. It's a close 2nd to having to deal with Comcast. It's not a $17,000,000 investment account, I'm trying to give you money. I don't want to take a vacation day just to pay my electric bill
