I’ve had this software since February 9th of 2021 and It had helped my trading a lot since purchasing. I use it to backtest pairs like Nas100 and US30 which require really refined strategies when trading live. This gives me live conditions so I can enhance my skills! Before forex tester I used trading view but the issue with trading view is after a certain amount of years you cannot go down to the 1 minute time frame, not sure if that’s a storage issue on the server but they was very frustrating to me as I wanted to move freely from timeframe to timeframe. That’s when I began researching for a backtesting software and I discovered Forex Tester. The software is straight to the point while it looks and feels like I’m trading on MT4. Overall I’m happy with my purchase and cannot wait to see what else they bring to the future or trade.

Awesome people with Awesome software, it's fast, data is precise, hot key feature is the best :)! Also, they gave me free stuff all the time cuz I ended up buying 2-3 times. If you are serious about forward testing lots of variables, and build your edge etc. FT5 is pretty gud :D

I have been trading forex for about five years now. I have read a number of books on price action, Elliot wave, psychology, money management and more. I’ve taken plenty of notes, had a mentor, journal everything and I’m always studying to improve my skill. I’ve made money, lost money, made it back and lost it again, up and down the roller coaster. At this point I would say that I’m a break-even trader or I at least have not blown up an account in a while. Earlier this year I concluded that the one thing I was lacking was time on the charts. Considering I have to work five days a week spending time on the charts while the market is active is a bit of a challenge. So, early this year I started going back is history on the MT4 platform and studied the price action day by day. Shortly after I started this, I discovered back testing software. I ran the demo on a number of different platforms and found that Forex tester 5 was the best program for me. I’m already familiar with MT4 which forex tester is clearly based on and from what I have experienced is very stable. It has plenty of indicators if needed, I only use one “sessions “(this colors in each trading session for each day) that’s awesome so I don’t have to keep looking at the time at the bottom, otherwise I prefer a naked chart. There are shortcut keys for just about everything so I literally use the mouse for drawing lines and boxes and that’s about it. News events are posted at the bottom of the screen and the reports can be viewed. Over all if you want to get good at trading, you have to back test how ever you do it. This platform is great because you can back test as if you’re actually trading only you can move through time as fast as you like and this will make your progress move along significantly faster. The three most important aspects to trading I think are knowledge and skill and psychology. This is definitely a skill builder, so if you don’t have all day to develop your skills when the market is active or just want to speed up the process, this could be your ticket.

ForexTester 5 provides one with a reliable way to back-test any strategy one might have. It is crucial in a trader's journey to optimize his or her strategy to take on the live markets and make consistent returns. Forex Tester 5 has provided me with the tools required to take my trading to the next level and I am now a profitable and consistent trader.

This is not a modern platform. Here is a list of negatives:

→ Working with multiple screens is glitchy. F.e. can't place TP/SL levels on a secondary screen, must do it on the screen with UI
→ Seems like it unnecessarily consumes too much computing power on my machine
→ A package with the first month of free data has only low-quality data when it comes to lower timeframes.
→ Can't import modern MetaTrader indicators, Forex Trader 5 can only read older indicator files
→ Can't set the default behavior for news on a chart. If I backtest EURUSD, it is unlikely that I need to have news related to CHF on the chart.
→ Confusing settings regarding session start hour with no proper tooltip.

I bought it because it seemed to be the best available. TradingView didn't have any backtesting at the time and I didn't know about FX Replay.

ForexTester may still be the best option for you, particularly for testing with multiple screens. I am not aware of any alternative in this regard, but working around the glitches can be learned (as infuriating as it is).
Here are a few positives:

→ An only platform I am aware of that allows you to have multiple screens with potentially testing different symbols at the same time.
→ As opposed to browser backtesting software, you can control replaying with keyboard shortcuts with ease.
→ Integrated with no code Strategy/Indicator Builder, although the software allows you to download only I think 2 indicators for free.

All in all, this is perfect for high timeframes testing or with more timeframes. Comes lacking in other ways.

Forex Tester 5 is an excellent software that will definitely improve your trading skills. It simulates price movement based on historical data that are available at various data sources such as Alpari, FCXM, Oanda, Forexsite, etc.. You can study any available charts with all sorts of drawing tools. You can place various orders such as market orders, limit orders, stop orders. You can save your progress and resume at later time. And, if that isn't enough, you can also develop your own scripts, indicators, and expert advisors to further your stuties.

If you're serious about improving your trading skills, you need this software. You also need to dedicate a lot of time practicing and analyzing price movement so that you'll be able to recognize profitable patterns in a heartbeat. Consistently profitable in trading isn't easy. Only with practice can you become more confident in this business. And, with the right tool, your path to mastery can be realized sooner. You will shrink the learning curve dramatically and become a successful trader in no time.

Forex Tester 5 is by far, the most complete trading backtest software i've used, giving all the information you need as if it was real market conditions, tick data, news, real spreads, very complete statistics about trading performance, screenshots, exporting data. Plus the team is very quick and effective, responding and solving any issue i had. i truelly recommend FT5 if anyone wants to give a step forward (a big one) on their trading carrer

I like FT5 as it is highly customizable (hot keys etc.) and is overall easy to use. I recommend this software for backtesting.

Hi All - I have used forextester 5 for just under a month. I used the email support who where excellent and replied to all my messages in the same day if not the same hour.

The testing software is as good as i have ever used for testing FX. Its not perfect for small time frames like the 1-2-3-4 min time frame. Everything else its excellent.

I asked for a refund as i wanted to back test the small time frames listed above and the refund email and comms where great, no fuss, no problems.

I highly recommend them, great service and software
