I have dealt with this company for many years and backtesting on their platform has saved me alot of time as it has enabled me to see how effective strategies really are before risking my money in the market.
You can easily do 100 trades to get a sample size in less than an hour, as opposed to taking weeks or months to get that data. All while sharpening your skills and training your eyes.

Seemed hard initially

I think the recommendation to run at least 30 trades to get some personal insights was smth that shifted my perception of backtesting taking it to more systematic area of market exploration. That compensated my initial pains and concerns. Now backtest is smooth, I clearly see the progress.

I have been using this software to help build strategies way quicker and see the results faster. This is by far the best Trading tester you can ever find. What i like about the software is that they keep updating it, they even added new feature to test your prob firm skills.. what more could one want on testing playform. And for a life time fee it saved alot of accounts being blown

Using it since 2018
Been using it since 2018 when it was forex tester 3 as a software to download. Very efficient and easy to use, I now use the current one available in browser.
I manually Backtest Gold within the 4H and 15m. Once you understand the hot keys and how to navigate it’s very efficient.
I changed from windows to Chrome OS so I couldn’t use the downloadable softwares version, the team were very quick to respond and help and give me access (at no extra cost) to the current version.
Very pleased with it, and I do think it’s worth the investment.

The response is slow
The response is slow, especially when switching between timeframes. One wrong key entered can reset or cancel your whole trade setup. Very unintuative way of entering trades. Not easy to use, takes a lot of time, lots of tradingview indicators are not available. Dont buy it. It is a waste of your money.
The only pisitive thing I can say that they do have a lot of data available for all timeframes many years history.

BUGS , DISASTER TIMEFRAME PROBLEMS
Forex tester online , software is fully of bugs , technical support not fixing issues , they deploy unnecesary updates but cannot attend the real urgents one.
On NASDAQ chart H4 candle normally start at 2am 6am 10 am and so on , but in here FTO start 0am 4am 8am , not matter with timeset you configure , its something that i claim for already 2 month and have not solution , even i think they still dont understand the problem. Is a high demand bug that aparently has no resolution from their side. This make imposible to backtest any strategy on H4 .

I really like the desktop version
I really like the desktop version of forextester 6! Maybe because I spent a lot of hours using this platform, but i like it even better than the TradingView environment. If you set up your hot keys, you can work really eficiently. If you go from Forex tester 6 to the MT5 environment, you will find out that you have to import al kind of external indicators to be able to create the same smart and fast workflow in Forex Tester 6. I only miss the dashboard visuals that the big competitors of Forex Tester provide, to see the results of a strategy, you only have a statistics window wich is not sexy at all. You know what would be great? I often test different pairs in separate projects, and I think it would be awesome if you could add all (or some) of your projects to a group and then see the total results of different strategies or pairs combined in a single dashboard.
I hope that, despite the new online platform, you continue improving the desktop version.

Inconsistent, unusable software
Sure, the team listen to their users most of the time. But are very inconsistent and their Forex Tester web version has been extremely buggy since its launch, and is taking more time than expected to become usable (crashes mid test, candles are not aligned with actual feeds etc).
The team promises and under-delivers every month, and they have completely abandoned their desktop version since last year for unknown reasons.
I would say spend your money somewhere else for now if you want an accurate and reliable backtesting experience.

I have to say, at first I was very disappointed with the interface as a lot was missing, buggy, and just overall not user-friendly. However, you can tell the development team are really passionate about their product. They listen to their community and incorporate requested missing features, as suggested by the users through a ticket system. The interface has come such a long way since I started using it and will only get better from here.

This software has unreal data i used this software from 2024 in December, my strategy is based on time . So when I use 4 timeframe instead of showing candles of 1 am 5am 9am and 1pm 5pm 9pm it's shows 2am 7am and so on. I emailed the support team they said they know that the problem of real time is there but they didn't correct it . 😭😭 please please forextester team correct your software . I don't know what else to do since my strategy is based on time !!!!

I’m facing a problem when doing backtesting
I purchased a lifetime subscription to ForexTester online since Dec 2024. However, I’m facing a problem when doing backtesting. For example, when I enter a sell trade, instead of showing a profit as expected, it shows a loss as if I had entered a buy trade. I see this issue every time.

To further assist you, could you please send us a screenshot of the "History" tab (at the bottom of the window) so we can review the details of your trade?
Additionally, may I ask what symbol you are trading?
Just in case, please click the "Open Chart Settings" button at the top right, then select "Symbol Properties." Ensure that the value in the "Lot size" field is set to 100,000 if you are backtesting a forex pair or 100 if you are backtesting XAUUSD.
This issue may occur if the lot size in this field is too small, as smaller profits can be negated by swap/commission costs.
