Be Very Careful.

We decided to put our house on the market and in March 2025, we engaged Fine and Country, after a superbly polished pitch by one of their agents or should I say 'Associate Partner'.

So good was the pitch that we looked no further and engaged the agent without checking other estate agents, that was our mistake. However, we were sold on Fine & Country's professionalism and knowledge of the market place for houses such as ours. We went ahead and paid Fine & Country £1250 to cover their companies marketing costs.

Little did we know that the agent valued our house more than £1m over the actual market value, yes over £1m, let that sink in for a bit. The photographs and video of the house took two very long days, which was way over what we were told.

When we eventually saw the online version of the brochure, which seemed to take forever and the delay was just a myriad of excuses, there were mistakes that would mislead any potential buyer. Several times we asked this to be changed but it wasn't. We never saw the finished printed version of the brochure that we were promised.

We were introduced to Propelr, who were being heavily pushed at the time and thought, why not, it keeps it all under one roof. That seemed, in my opinion, a complete and utter waste of time, that cost us many hundreds of pounds and we received fairly useless correspondence back, just a large bill. This service seems to me to be unnecessary as you can all what they provide by just engaging your own solicitor, which would cost less.

After a time, and not one potential buyer, no printed brochure, still trying correct errors in the marketing, we decided to go elsewhere, which wasted the important 'spring/summer' market. We felt that the flawless pitch and promises made to us were just not being met in any way.

Only after we looked toward other estate agents did we realise the catastrophically bad and inaccurate valuation that we had been given by Fine & Country. Three different agents gave us a valuation of between £1.1m and £1.3m, Fine and Country's agent or should I say 'associate partner', gave us an initial valuation of £2.5m. We thought our home was worth around £1.2m to £1.5m, so were taken back at this valuation, but we thought that they were the professionals and knew about the market. However, we did reduced to £2.25 for marketing, thinking that was an incentive to any potential buyer.

We put our trust and blind faith in Fine & Country and feel that was trashed with over pricing and inaccurate marketing, that cost us over £2000 with Fine & Country and Propelr's fees. So, we would not now, or ever in the future, consider any property to sell or buy, for that matter, that which has the Fine & Country name attached. Solely because of our experience I wonder how many properties are 'overpriced'.

So be VERY careful, it was our fault that we didn't look at other valuations, but after such a superbly polished pitch, we were taken in. Please make sure you get other valuations, it could save you a lot of money.

I’ve dealt with this firm twice

I’ve dealt with this firm twice, both time they were found wanting.
1. They did an awful job of marketing my property
2. Today they were 2 hours late to drop the keys off at my daughters new property, this so called agent waltzed in opened the door said congratulations, no appology and then left, really poor service and to top it off she took the front door key with her. The 2 offices to avoid are Cardiff and Brecon
I’d give them both of them a wide berth, can’t speak for the other offices though.

Thank you Fine & Country, both Diss and Norwich Office.
Kerry Cozens met us to view our property on her first day and was successful straight away! She was professional, courteous and very friendly.
Then we were contacted by Julie Vassar, the aftersale manager. She coped admirably with a complex and difficult completion and exchange procedure, never losing her cool and being extremely supportive to us. Her exceptional people skills, professionalism and endless patience meant that she was always available. She liaised between us, the vendors, our solicitor and the vendor's solicitor with apparent ease and brought everything to a successful conclusion. Thanks again!

Tom from Fine and Country Diss

Tom from Fine and Country Diss, has handled our sale patiently and professionally. There was clear communication from the beginning and we were updated from the sellers side of things throughout. The main office in Diss is friendly and accommodating, the manager even spent time going through TPOs with us and extra advice. I recently purchased a house through Fine & Country, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of expertise and customer service they provided. Their professionalism was exceptional throughout the entire process.
A special thank you to Jade and Sherry, who kept me consistently informed and went above and beyond to ensure everything progressed smoothly. Their support made the experience far less stressful, not only for the sellers but for me as the buyer as well.

Brilliant team who care about their Clients

I have recently sold my house near Carlisle and was supported through the whole experience with the Fine & Country team in Carlisle . Their service and friendly but professional manner was 2nd to none. I cannot praise the whole team enough especially Rosie who went the extra mile. I would recommend them to anyone who is in the process of choosing an Estate Agent in Cumberland.

Highly recommended

Fine & Country sold my house with two offers only two weeks in. Kate did a wonderful job coordinating and managing everything, from the marketing to viewings to answering questions over the several months before the completion. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional at all times. Highly recommended if you want to sell a property that's a fit for their market (the more unique or rural type). They understand their section of the market very well and how to sell within it.

Sheldon was a great help through the selling process particularly as only one of the family was living nearby the property being sold. We relied heavily on updates and his communication about status was always clear and reassuring. From our perspective he seems always to go the extra mile to keep the buyer on board and move the process forward.

It just gets worse....

This is my third attempt at resolving the situation. Having been contacted by the local agent last Thursday and accepting responsibility via phone, he kindly agreed to go away and consider a contribution towards the invoice. I was feeling positive that a wrong was going to be put right. Having incurred a bill of £1,000 as a direct result of being let down by Fine & Country, I received an email today offering a £250 contribution to the bill, on the condition that I remove my 1 star review. An absolute insult. I simply asked that the wrong doing was rectified and that the bill was settled, following agreement that Fine & Country were at fault. The email goes on to state that a 1 star review is damaging for the business... I had no hot water nor heat in winter with a young daughter .... Fine & Country you need to shine a light on your ethical practice.

Professional, friendly & reliable service had a really positive experience…

We had a really positive experience with Fine & Country during the sale of our property, and we couldn’t be happier with the service we received from start to finish.
The team at the Diss branch were professional, friendly and always kept us well informed throughout the process. Communication was excellent and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
A special thank you to Julie at the Norwich branch, who was also incredibly helpful and supportive along the way.
Selling a property can be stressful, but the team made the whole experience feel smooth and well managed. We would not hesitate to recommend Fine & Country to anyone looking to sell their home.

Fine and Country are simply the best

F&C West Malling were Fabulous

F&C West Malling. Absolutely Fabulous. So pleased we chose F&C. Michael, Emma and Karen were fantastic. Exceptionally professional every step of the way. Managed to secure full asking price from the first person through the door. Massive shout to Michael Commons who went over and above to get the sale over the line. Communication was second to none. Would always pick up the phone or respond to emails promptly. Managed a difficult situation at a stressful time when all around them others failed. They may not be the cheapest but they certainly are the best. It’s a false economy to go with alternatives. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone looking to sell. You will not be disappointed.
