Fibrecast- Dundees local superfast broadband provider
Since I changed from old copper Broadband to Fibrecast super broadband I have had an excellent service with no buffering. Even during installation when they lifted my monoblock to place the cable underground to the street was done professionally and you’d never know it had been lifted. The aftercare has been excellent with any queries dealt with immediately

OK. But watch out for dropouts.
Installation was simple.
Speed is OK, but there are dropouts.
Daily there are half a dozen dropouts of up to a minute. This disrupts streaming/zoom and other connection-sensitive operations such as online banking and shopping.

A+ for Fibrecast : 3 Months in and no problems
:: Connectivity has been without interruption since installation, raw throughput can vary a little at peak hours on my 1g up 1g down link but only by 10-20%, great connectivity to all services I use with low latency response times to both UK and EU services -avg 3ms to azure(uk) and cloudflare(uk) networks and 8ms to 10ms to EU services from this workstation I'm writing the review from which already has 4 hops internally before breaking out to the ISP, i'm very happy with both the high speed and low latency of this connection.
:: Customer service has been via email so far as this ISP doesn't appear to have forums or a ticket system, email responses have been received promptly even outside office hours.
:: My only criticism would be, not having the option to opt-out of ISP provided hardware (modem/router) at sing up as I already have my own router, the ISP provided unit is just e-waste and is sitting in a cupboard gathering dust until it's either returned or eventually thrown away. I can appreciate that some customers would want a router, but I would imagine the type of customers who are ordering fibre to the premises are PROsumers and may already have their own hardware or intend to buy mid to high end hardware.
The customer service was great.
The customer service was great - you talked to a real person and if you raised an issue, company policy is that the person that you make initial contact with is the one that deals with the problem until it is sorted. I had two problems. 1. CityFibre did not recognise that they had installed broadband up our street and Fibrecast helped to solve the problem. 2. When the fibre was brought into the house, the router had to be situated in a room with solid brick walls on all sides. We got 150 Mbps straight away, but in some areas of the house, the wifi was slow. My contact person with Fibrecast came round to the house with a booster and ensured that it was situated in the best position to solve the problem. We now have almost 150 Mbps in all areas of the house.
Fibrecast is a local company in Dundee, using them as a provider supports our local economy. They are also very good value.

I've been with Fibrecast for over 18 months now, on the 300Mbps tier. Their pricing is good, the initial installation was seamless and I've not had a single issue since installation, just a rocksolid connection - you couldn't ask for more! I just feel sorry for people that live outwith their service area as you're missing out! :)
