Highly recommended!

Everyone I spoke to at Fibrecast was great. Internet was up and running within a few days of being in touch. Had no issues with the service and the price is very competitive. Definitely recommend them!

Sad to be leaving

Became a customer of Fibrecast as soon as they were available at my previous address (about 5 years ago) I have been lucky enough not ro have any serious issues with our connection and excellent customer service.
However I moved home recently to an area that is not covered yet, cancelled my service with no problem yet again the customer service was beyond excellent,
However due to an error my direct debit for this month came out of my bank account, I contacted Fibrecast (via email) and within 10 minutes the mistake was rectified.
I honestly cant wait until city fibre dig up my new street to install fibre as i will be straight onto the phone to reconnect!
Overall, flawless service, very reasonably priced and above excellent customer service, I would highly recommend this company if they are available in your area

Go local

After years of haggling with stealth price rises from virgin and having to deal with Thier abysmal foreign call centre. I decided to go with fibrecast the city fibre guys installed the service with no issues and it is a breath of fresh air to have local customer service. I sent an email to ask a question and received a phone call the same day - my router was even hand delivered the day before my installation. I also like supporting a local business.

Would have gave 5 stars , had this been done sooner as I called several times to get this resolved ..
Nice enough company but hopefully will start helping customers with their problems in a timely manner …

not what i was expecting at all...

Was having a great experience with another local provider, but due to certain circumstances we had to switch. I'd thought to myself since I had a good experience with a previous local provider I'd give it another go but this time with Fibrecast. I had picked my date and time for installation and it was a no show but within the next week it was installed. I do a lot of heavy downloading between, 250-500GB of data usage every month. I then ran into an issue with this provider... Download speeds peak @920mbps sometimes going down to 400-600 as expected but most of the time it would slowly descend to BITS PER SECOND (lowest speeds that software can show) then would slowly climb back up to around 100mbps making a 4-20 min download to become a 2 and a half hour download. Never happened with the previous local provider and nothing has changed since.

The second issue is how the route to the servers aren't the most optimal, I average an extra 6ms to get to the main Europe server. Which means instead of going straight down to London and into Europe it's most likely taking random U-turns before reaching it's final destination. 6 milliseconds doesn't seem like a lot but when your playing something really competitive every millisecond counts.

My third and final issue is the router... seriously? tp-link? The router feels cheap, light and looks like it was invented in the early 2010s

If your looking for a solid provider i would definitely NOT recommend fibrecast.

In regards to the first point regarding download speeds, we haven't received any communication regarding this issue from any of our customers recently. Given the severity of the issue reported we would very much like to engage with you to further investigate this - please can you respond to our request for more information via TrustPilot so we can drill down to your connection stats.

In regards to your second point, our network is built with optimised routing in mind and actually seeks to avoid unnecessary latency. Traffic destined between most customers in Dundee is routed in Dundee which means latency is around 1-2ms (few ISPs can come close to matching this). We are also members of LINX Scotland meaning that latency to other participating ISPs and content networks can be as low as 2-3ms. Latency to destinations further afield will vary as there are numerous options of fibre cables linking the UK to Europe (but for us much traffic destined to Europe actually goes via Manchester rather than London). We don't know what specific "Europe server" you are referring to but there are sometimes ways to resolve unexpected high latency for locations abroad if we are made aware.

Finally, routers. We didn't judge the TP-Link router based on it's look, feel, or weight. Instead we analysed it's technical capabilities and reliability. Compared to other routers out on the ISP market it is a strong contender with a decent feature set and it's very rare to hear customers complaining about them. Some customers do of course opt to use their own router but more than 95% of our customer base uses the provided TP-Link router which we believe speaks for itself.

Excellent service from the first … ordering was really simple, they contacted my previous provider, instillation was efficient with a friendly guy and follow up perfect, the best bit tho is the WiFi speed no lagging at all this service is excellent start to finish highly recommend

Fast reliable internet and amazing customer service!

We have had faultless and fast connectivity for 6 months. It was so easy to set up and get started.

We had a payment issue and I had a call back within 10mins from Sebastian and he was very understanding and sorted it within minutes.

We are really impressed!

Very Poor customer service

Very Poor customer service. I purchased their fibre ultimate plan. Installtion was due for the 23rd of January. Installers came and were fantastic however there was a blockage further down the street and they could not run the fibre down to finish the connection as the pavement would need to be lifted to clear it. They left telling me it would be done within a week. I was happy with this. A week came and went and I phoned up for an update was told they were busy and I would get a phonecall back. No phonecall was ever made. I then phoned again 3 days later to be told the same, they were very busy and I would get a call back. Again no call was ever made. Today I phoned up and once again was told we will call you back and have marked it as urgent. No call for hours. I phoned to complain and cancel the policy and was hung up on, I then phoned back and was yet again told sorry we are busy we will call you back.
I was very happy with the installation even though it was not completed the installers were very professional and very apologetic that they couldn't finish the job that day. Customer services however has been an absolute joke.

Fibrecast are BRILL!! Ace personal service and a solid connection!

I am super impressed with everything Fibrecast, from initial signup, personal service, and installation, through to the speed and reliability of the connection itself.

I had a few questions about getting landlord permission before signing up, which Kieran got back to me about quickly, and even visited personally when there was slight confusion about the flat numbering following CityFibre's connection work. So refreshing to be treated like a human by a human.

The Fibrecast install was carried out by Dale, Keir, and Kerr. Everything was explained well, our property and possessions were respected with a tidy-up afterward, and a tidy job with cabling along the walls.

6 months in and the connection has been rock solid so far whether I'm throwing large video uploads at it, or working from home using huge cloud based files. My son is still blown away by the speed of his PS5 updates and games downloading!

I was with Virgin Media previously and while the connection was also fine, I'm so much happier being able to support a local business in Dundee and have that peace of mind that the personal customer service is there if needed. Great pricing too, so the overall value is outstanding. Recommend!!

Best ISP in Dundee

If you live in Dundee and are connected to the cityfibre network, then Fibrecast is the only option as far as I am concerned.

Personal service is commonplace at fibrecast. Only had to speak to the team twice and both times I had an in person solution within hours.

We are moving into an area with no service unfortunately however, unlike other big providers, we are not being charged for our early exit which is mind blowing.

The router is also very decent and not one of those Amazon eero data collectors.

I completely recommend fibrecast and I am genuinely sad to see them go. Keep up the great work.

When city was available in my area I…

When city was available in my area I was concerned about going with FibreCast because they were smaller and I didn’t know them. I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made when it comes to selecting a broadband provider. The team have been amazing from start to finish. They have been quick to communicate with me and resolve issues almost immediately. The product itself as stayed reliable throughout my time with them and I can’t wait recommend them enough!

A+ Customer Service & Internet

Have had Fibrecast Gigabit set up in my flat for a month now through CityFibre. Set up was easy, I scheduled a date for a few days later and engineers were out on time, set up router in the place I wanted very quickly and with very little mess. The internet connection itself has also been great.

Also got the date of my direct debit changed to after payday with a single email - the entire problem was resolved in about 10 minutes.

A++ fantastic customer service in a world of automated phone calls, outsourced call centres and hours of waiting on hold

Poor Customer Service

wouldn't recommend if you have cityfiber set up in your home already since they dont have automatic customer service to tell you when they are going to set you up and no one bothers to text, send an email or call you themselves. After 2 weeks wait with no contact they tell you your set up day is the day you call up to cancel. Maybe in a year or 2 this will be streamlined but for right now its extremely poor service. The lady I spoke to on the phone and Sebastian were lovely to talk too but it was a too little too late situation.
