Worst Insurance Company ever. I would never use this company for any coverage again. They are dishonest and disorganized. I had multiple home policies running congruently. I also learned they were gro... See more

In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve. Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you. Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products. Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, in their capacity as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges. Our Story Our story began with the simple goal of insuring the vehicles of rural farmers but as the world changed, so did we. Visit our timeline for a tour through the decades of Farmers.

It’s allowing me to see the numbers
Farmers home Insurance is a ripoff.
When I moved into my home I noticed my 15 year old roof was aging and needed replacement. The Farmers Insurance people came out and said the roof was in great condition, 5 years later farmer's cancelled my policy because they said my roof needed replacing and they were not liable. Farmers was charging me $8,500.00 per year for insurance, a huge ripoff.
Awful an mean they are inconsiderate

The have incompetent overseas agents…
The have incompetent overseas agents who don’t know what they are doing and mislead me for three months telling me I have a credit when I didn’t so I didn’t pay and then they charged me close to 2000.
So disappointed and fearful
I, as a first time ever roadside user and 62 year old fixed income female, had a very bad experience. I requested roadside help for a battery jump, but instead the driver removed my battery, took $200, left, came back with a
different battery that did not fit my car, and did not provide a receipt, proper accounting, or change. This happened on 3/7/26. I have video of the battery being removed, money being taken, and the return with the wrong battery. I would not recommend this service.
Insurance Policy Cancelled For 14 Year Old Out of State Expired License
Got a policy for my new car in June 2025. Fast forward 4 months later and the policy was cancelled. No emails, no calls, texts or snail mail. Fast forward a few months after (April 15th, 2026) that I called to ask a question about my policy and found out my policy was cancelled in Nov 2025. They said because of expired drivers license. For some reason Farmers pulled a 14 year old drivers license from a different state that expired in 2015 despite me being in Oregon for the last 14 years and a valid Oregon DL and valid Oregon residence (Both of which were provided to Timothy of Farmers). I told them they needed to reinstate my policy and they refused. The told me I had to get a new policy. Low and behold the new policy was 60% more expensive. IMHO, I think Farmers and their agents know they are doing this. This seems to me like a tactic to get more money from you. I have since gone with another insurance company. I highly recommend that if you have a policy with Farmers that you be sure you check your bank statement each month to see that they are debiting it. If they are not then you'll be in the same situation as me and that is VERY bad if you have a brand new car that requires full coverage. The kicker is that when I called a couple weeks ago, they emailed me the cancellation notice (4 months after the fact). I am in the process of seeking legal council for this. I do NOT recommend Timothy Frazier or Farmers insurance. It's of my opinion they are out to scam you. Proceed at your own risk.
I have farmers insurance company
I have farmers insurance company, Bristol West and I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied with the customer service, they tried talking to me as if I'm a kid and don't explain things and when I ask them again they gets upset and says they don't work for the mortgage company, I didn't say farmers insurance company do, I only ask why I'm getting letters stating they have not received information from farmers insurance Bristol West company, and that when the manger and one of the customer service representatives was difficult and very disrespectful, so I let them know you don't have to be disrespectful I'm just asking about did you send out the paperwork to the mortgage company. If you talk crazy to me I will talk back crazy to you. By the way I texted them and stated I was writing a negative review and they texted me back and said no one reads the reviews anyway so go ahead : I saved a text from farmers Bristol West customer service statement that don't care because people don't read reviews, I have it to verify if anyone needs to read it for themselves from the customer service representatives of farmers insurance company Bristol West : Again I'm very unhappy with the attitude of the farmers insurance company Bristol West mgr and customer service rep
Have had farmers insurance for a few…
Have had farmers insurance for a few years now through an agent. I've had an excellent driving record with no accidents and no tickets for over 2 decades. Yet, every year, they have raised my premium. Why?
When you call, you can't even speak to the decision makers themselves as they refuse, speak to your agent. Well, your agent doesn't know or have any useful info either. No reward for being a good driver.
Nick Adamo & Nathan Alpers, Always Great Service and Saving me Money!
Nick Adamo & Nathan Alpers, Farmers Insurance Agents in San Marcos, CA, always impress me. And I'm a skeptic! Nathan Alpers is my agent. He consistently goes beyond my expectations in customer service and especially in saving me money. Nathan recently changed my Home Owners Insurance carrier to Farmers and literally save me a few thousand dollars (no exaggeration [that's why I said "literally"!]). I've been a long-term customer and I greatly appreciate Nathan & Nick. Keep up the great work, guys!
Sincerely,
Dave Mulcahy

I purchase a 10 year annuity at 5.8%…
I purchase a 10 year annuity at 5.8% guaranteed. The first 3 months I have been shorted on every payment. Getting no help from the customer service department at Farmers I got the financial advisor who sold me the policy involved. He still hasn’t heard back with a response It has been over 3 weeks
All similar reviews. Should have taken it seriously.
I should have came here first and saved myself this frustration these past couple months.
Absolutely terrible company. Ryan Reader is the most insulting, rude and unprofessional agent I’ve ever worked with.
Our mortgage company failed to send our insurance payment from escrow back in September 2025, which resulted in us receiving a cancellation notice. We immediately contacted Ryan and paid the full year’s premium out of pocket to avoid losing coverage. At that time, he assured us he would submit the necessary information to our mortgage company as our mortgage was sold shortly to another after purchase which Ryan explained to us, so the payment could be processed and we would be reimbursed for the duplicate payment.
Unfortunately, that never happened. Now Ryan is back tracking and saying we wouldn’t be reimbursed.
Despite multiple requests for clarification, Ryan refused to speak with us by phone and would only respond via email, which made the situation more confusing. I even had a representative from our mortgage company reach out to him directly twice and provided their name and contact information so he could coordinate the reimbursement. He never returned their calls either.
When Ryan finally did call us today, he repeatedly spoke over me while I tried to explain the process outlined by our mortgage company, and ultimately hung up on me when I asked him to stop interrupting.
To make matters worse, he insisted that reimbursement from the insurance company was not possible based on his “10 to 20 years of experience,” and that only the mortgage company could issue the refund to me directly. However, after speaking directly with my insurance company today (something you would think my insurance agent would do for me to get his commission), the insurance folks were professional and actually willing to help, I was informed that once they receive payment from the mortgage company, they (the insurance company) will in fact reimburse me directly, not my mortgage company like Ryan kept insisting, exactly what I had been trying to explain all along.
Overall, this was an incredibly frustrating experience marked by poor communication, lack of follow through, and unprofessional behavior. I strongly recommend using caution if considering this agency and keeping close track of your payments.
This insurance company is a scam
This insurance company is a scam. Their home policy is not cheap. When it comes time to claim, they do know how to deny with generic reasoning like "damage not due to wind", "wear and tear" so that it is very difficult for you to fight back. Best to avoid them altogether.
Farmers set me up and lied screwing me over
Farmers gives me a quote and finalizes everything. All papers signed and printed and they directly stated everything has been finalized and I am OKAY TO DROP MY INSURANCE PROVIDER explicitly... I drop my other insurer... A month later Farmers calls me and says that I need a new fence or they will drop me... I told them they said everything was finalized and this incorrect sequence leaves me out of luck when if they where just honest, I could have done the fence under my old insurance provider... They essentially cost me 2,500$ for lieing to get my business... If I press the issue I might win but then would have to put up with finding a different insurer with my bad mark. They optimize for how much they can screw you to make it not worth legally fighting it.
if you want to be taken advantage of use Farmers
This is the company for you if you want to be monetarily RAPED. Supposedly they sent out rate increase notices in November 25 mail. I never received that information. Received it on 16Mar26,-premiums increase almost 100%. When I called to investigate, No one can give me a good answer for the increase .
What a garbage insurance company
What a garbage insurance company. Agents do nothing more than scam the insurer. Going back to State Farm.
Time Farmers get canceled
People,American citizens. This has to stop it has to stop. We pour so much money into these companies and they do nothing for us. We have the power, its 2026 let's cancel them, you can cancel your insurance find better one. Farmers need to be canceled. A person with no insurance hit my car he was found not at fault, the investigators did a horrible job, only thing they had to do was look at the millions of camera that caught the accident. Im 40 never been in one accident in my life perfect driving record. My point is they are suppose to be on are side help us we the people are the reason they raking in millions. Nomore let's stop supporting maybe they might get better. Enough is enough. My friends let's cancel farmers I will be going on every platform social media to make sure we are heard Farmes messed up. I used to love Farmers. On top of everything medical person lied in a report that is wat set me off. So im canceling. Csncel with me.
My son is getting a misdemeanor charge…
My son is getting a misdemeanor charge because he had your insurance and switched it from his car to his truck he had SR22 however the agent didn't put the SR22 on the truck therefore his licensed got revoked and he had no idea and the agent said there's nothing they can do about it!! Wow!
Farmers lied, refused our claims.
After inspecting our home and writing our policy farmers said our contents policy of over 200k was void because our roof was not new. This is after they inspected roof and wrote the policy. We are having to sue Farmers as they underpaid nearly everyone who filed a claim in my town after a hail storm. My agent would not take my calls and all claims for the storm were farmed out to a cutthroat out of state adjustment company. Farmers also wrote us that we refused to let their adjusters examine our damaged home so our entire claim was void. When the farmers hired inspector came an attorney and 9 witnesses saw him on our roof and in our house. He was welcomed and stayed for an hour. I HAVE PHOTOS. Farmers is terrible and should be forbidden to due business in NM. They also cancelled our policy because we filed a claim. This company is a disgrace and a stain on the industry.
If I could leave no stars I would
If I could leave no stars I would. I cancelled my policy the first week of February to be effective March 1. I saved over $100 per month going with GEICO for the same coverage. I submitted a signed letter of cancellation which they confirmed they received. Despite this, they debited the payment for March from my account. When I called to have it reversed, they said they would have to mail a check. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there was not one available and someone would call me back. They did not. RIDICULOUSLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I stopped payment at my bank which cost $35, but I refuse to just let them be this incompetent and refund my money via mail whenever they get around to it.
If I could leave a zero I would
If I could leave a zero I would. The never mailed our declarations renewal and upped our insurance by over $7,000. When I called to inquire they had no answer. I called other companies and got the same coverage for a fraction of the cost. I then cancelled out insurance with them. They then went ahead and withdrew a payment from our account anyways! I have been dealing with their "customer service" for almost a month to get a refund and they refuse. Their customer service is based elsewhere. STAY AWAY from Farmers!
