We are a community farm shop celebrating the best Somerset has to offer. Durslade Farm is the inspiration behind the farm shop – sharing all that is a fresh and seasonal with the local community, and direct to you, nationwide. On the farm we rear award-winning beef and lamb for the farm shop and we also have the walled garden where we grow a selection of herbs, fruit and vegetables. All of our meat is expertly prepared by our Head Butcher Giles and his team. In addition we have an orchard for cider, a vineyard and bee hives for our own honey and a large selection of wild, foraged foods including wild garlic, crab apples, blackberries – which make up our foraged range. Our commitment to sustainability and ethos in working with like-minded suppliers is what connects us to the different producers we work with – from free range farms where animal welfare and best practice is the highest priority, to companies that use materials that are biodegradable or made from recycled materials. We promote and share local talent, supporting small projects with big futures and work with established ones to create special products that you can only find here.

I was disappointed in the marinated leg of lamb. It was not trimmed of fat, indeed it was very, very fatty indeed. I had to cut away about 25% of the cut just in fat.

French Algerian sausages for the British
the service given by the shop was very good, next day delivery was received for the perishable packet contents, which were excellently packaged with chill packs to keep the temperature down, all in all the best I have seen in the industry.
After living in France for some time I have been trying to find a genuine source of Merguez sausages to have with home-cooked couscous dishes, without success. They all seem to be watered down to 'suit the British pallet' despite the tons of curries that are now part of our national diet.
The spices, colour, and skins, were all authentic in your variant but the fire was missing, I would say more Harissa should be added, or at least 3 times the quantity per mix of chillie to approach the authentic taste of the original recipe, which is not really too hot to handle but does have a more invigorating taste when served with other lamb dishes.
This review is not a criticism but only a constructive comment hoping that the British will one day enjoy the real thing.
