We have been a business customer of Corona Energy across three linked meters since mid-2025, and the experience has been genuinely awful.
We were originally quoted a Non-Half-Hourly rate with no KVA availability charge and a low standing charge. Only after signing did we discover our meters actually required Half-Hourly settlement, which came with substantially higher standing charges and a KVA availability charge that was never mentioned at the point of sale. This effectively changed the cost of our contracts after the fact, and no one internally seems willing to take ownership of the original bad advice.
On top of this, actual meter readings were missing for months at a time. One meter went half a year with no readings appearing on our online account at all, yet direct debit payments were still being taken based on estimated charges. When we asked questions, we were bounced between different customer service and complaints handlers, each giving slightly different explanations, and promised call-backs and follow-ups regularly failed to materialise, sometimes for three or more weeks despite the company's own stated 10-day SLA.
To make matters worse, when we raised a formal complaint spanning two related accounts (same ownership, same site, same underlying billing issue), we were told this had to be split into separate complaint threads per account due to "Data Protection," which simply added delay and duplicated admin on our side for no discernible benefit.
Separately, and rather tone-deaf given the ongoing unresolved complaint, we were repeatedly asked by staff to leave positive Trustpilot reviews — on one occasion even being asked to post a review under a staff member's first name.
Nearly a year on, we are still chasing basic resolution: correct billing, a review of KVA charges we don't believe are appropriate for our sites, and credits for the service failures already acknowledged internally. If you're considering Corona Energy for a multi-site or half-hourly metered contract, get everything about metering type and charges confirmed in writing before signing, and be prepared for a long fight if anything goes wrong.
Fortunately, we have now finally been over to move supply of all 3 meters over to and new supplier with much more transparency and more professional customer support.
Would not recommend.
