This following text from the website is very misleading.
"So, here’s the good news! Click4Warranty 5-Star Mechanical Breakdown Insurance provides comprehensive parts cover that will give you peace of mind if your car breaks down. Helping you locate a suitable approved repairer, paying the repairer directly and getting your car back on the road quickly and safely is our priority."
Note the last sentence - this is NOT the case at all!
I had to make a claim so followed the process and was told the claims management company DO NOT HAVE A LIST OF APPROVED REPAIRERS.
I had to find my own repairer for an electrical fault.
The policy document also says: "If you prefer to use your own repairer, the labour content will be commensurate with the labour rate of our approved repairer " Note last three words - again an approved repairer is mentioned. Autoprotect do not have a list of approved repairers, so this is to my mind very misleading.
Perhaps the wording should be changed to convey the fact that the customer finds a garage willing to complete the repairs, and once a diagnostic/quote is approved the customer can get the repairs carried out.
Also I feel there should be clarity on the fact that where garages do not deal with 3rd party warranties, that the policyholder will have to pay for the approved repairs and claim the cost back from Autoprotect. Not everyone may be in a position to do this.
Many garages refuse to deal with 3rd party warranty providers I discovered.
Eventually I got a diagnostic carried out by the main dealership. But they refuse to deal with warranty companies too.
I paid for the diagnostic, rang the Claims management company only to be told they do not reimburse the diagnostic costs. I re-read the policy wording and saw this is in fact the case.
The dealership have repaired the fault during the diagnostic appointment but if the fault recurs, I will have to contact the claims management company, get the repair approved and this will cost around £700 which I will need to pay for and claim back.
The stress of trying to find a garage to carry out the repair was unbelievable, and I do feel very disappointed and frustrated about the whole thing.

Super pre-sales service - Damian P explained everything. 5 star policy is a must for newer more complied cars.
Can’t speak for the claims handling process, and hopefully won’t have to.

When my Mercedes a/c stopped working and upon contacting the company they informed me that my cars a/c was covered. As advised I took my car to a Mercedes specialist who diagnosed the a/c pressure sensor. Feeling confident I emailed the invoices over to Click4Warranty. Subsequently, when I spoke to the claims team they advised me that upon looking at the policy t&c's , I had a 'listed parts' policy and unfortunately the a/c pressure sensor was not covered. However, to my astonishment the a/c compressor unit was covered (a bigger and more costly part). This is totally bemusing and ridiculous given that my total bill gor my claim totalled just over £360 compared to a compressor unit replacement compressor which would cost in excess of £1000+ to replace and is covered. There has been no modicum of common sense applied as both components are in the same a/c system! This is just another way for the company to weazle its way out of paying out reasonable claims. This is the first time I have made a claim since taking out the policy but this doesn't count for anything obviously.

Awful from start to finish. It was a massive battle to receive my policy documents through - I had to call multiple times which was a drain on time. I purchased a 4 star warranty cover, ironically for peace of mind that I'd have a more enhanced cover. Firstly I find out that cars over 90,000 miles have a 40% access fee - this was not made clear at time of purchase, but hey it was probably in small print on 30 pages of t's and c's somewhere. ..
Secondly when I did have repair work carried out they decline my claim leaving for me to pay for it in full. The grounds of which they denied the claim are that "the electrical part was not a listed part" - it was a battery control module that controls all the electric in the car, from starting the engine, the electric boot and electric folding wing mirrors. A complete and utter waste of money. I would never use these again. Steer clear
