Good morning to any prospective City Fibre customers.
After more than 7 weeks without Internet, we decide to upgrade to full fibre with Sky, they use City Fibre. On 1st September two City Fibre people arrived looked at the job and said they couldn’t do it, needed the Civils team. A week ago a very nice Gentleman from City Fibre arrived and carried out a survey. As we live on a farm 2.5Miles from Heathrow Airport, we agreed to dig the trench for the ducting and fibre cable. That’s all done and Cuty Fibre are maybe going to attend today 14th September but so far nothing communication from them.
I have called their helpline and as I’m not Cjty Fibres customer they cannot talk to me as Sky is their client. Sky don’t know what’s going on only that they are installing inside house tomorrow.
Smarten yourselves up City Fibre you are not
Efficient, Professional or Communicative which beggars belief as Comms are your business.
My advice Stay away from
City Fibre that’s of course on the off chance you make contact with their on the ground teams.

I was informed every step of the way before, during and after my installation as to what would happen. Received the router on time beforehand. The work carried out for my installation was done professionally, efficiently and politely. Would highly recommend.

Josh (Joshua Dunford - 308572) did a great job fitting our full fibre line and sky connection. He was professional, competent, polite and pleasant. He arrived exactly on time and let us know when he would be arriving. He explained how all the fittings worked together to create a web net.

I’m perplexed by all the positive reviews on here. We were due to have fibre broadband installed on 23rd July through Vodafone. Up until this date everything was perfect. We had regular updates and on the day of installation the installers turned up as promised. However, from this point everything went downhill. After commencing the installation, they advised me that a tree was in the way and they could not complete, therefore somebody would be returning the following day to complete the job. That same evening I received a text message telling me that due to the obstruction it may take 19 days to resolve! The following day however, unannounced, another person turned up to survey the tree - he advised me that the tree was not in the way and the previous two engineers were just being ‘lazy’! He told me somebody would return either tomorrow or the next working day to complete the job. Weeks went by chasing an installation date; City fibre would not speak to me directly as my contract was with Vodafone. Vodafone would chase and just relay information from cityfibre telling me that there would be an update on ‘X’ date. Without fail that date would come and go with no update, and I would again chase Vodafone to find out what’s happening, only to be given another ‘X’ date where I would receive a non-existent update. Then three weeks ago completely unannounced someone turned up on behalf of cityfibre to cut back our tree. They took the tiniest piece of branch away which to me makes almost no difference whatsoever, however this is something I could’ve easily done this myself within minutes on the 23rd of July when the engineers visited! At least I believed that now this is done cityfibre may come out imminently and complete the job. Sadly, no such luck - since removal of the small piece of branch, I have been chasing repeatedly for a date when the installation will be completed. Each time I am given an artificial date where I will be receiving another non-existent update, or I’m simply told there is no update and that they will chase it. I am now nearly 2 months from the original installation date and still waiting to have our broadband installed! Unfortunately because city fibre is the only option we have, all I can do is wait, otherwise I would have moved to a different provider weeks ago. By reading all positive reviews I can only presume that when an installation is smooth and simple then they are faultless, however, in my case where different engineers have given conflicting opinions. The entire process seems to have completely stalled into some sort of closed loop non-rectifiable dead end! The sheer lack of communication, inconsistency and ridiculous amount of waiting can only be summed up in one word - deplorable
