Caroline makes staying at the lodge in Berkhamsted incredibly easy and welcoming.
The room itself has 2 single beds, TV, tea and coffee and a lovely warm shower.
It is very convenient to have a comfortable place to stay when visiting my elderly mother.

Having lived in our previous property for many years and as we needed to down size, it was a difficult decision but there was no need to be sceptical. Churchill Living answered all our concerns and with Khalid as our Lodge Manager we are assured of a reliable, friendly 'neighbour' who is always available to solve all those problems you have along with arranging communal events for our enjoyment.

We were helped by Churchill in every way. Allowed to stay in the experience flat while our flat was ready as our house was sold. The position of this complex in West Kirby could not be more convenient. We didn't know the area as we moved from Stockport to be near family. Stuart, our house manager is superb.Nothing is too much trouble. We're extremely grateful to have him here.

I fell and broke a lavatory seat in our Abingdon Lodge and it was replaced within the day, for no charge. Our house manager arranged it. I cannot speak too highly of his unfailing efficiency and courtesy. We moved here 6 months ago, and we are totally impressed with the way the company has made us feel at home - Professor Keith Ward

Churchill Living helped my Mum move into Bourne Lodge, a new development in Tonbridge. The building itself is magnificent. The communal area is lovely, the lodge manager extremely friendly and the apartments themselves are excellently designed. A lot of thought has gone into their design and the end result really showcases this.
Lisa Paulley the sales director was excellent throughout. I could tell she genuinely cared about my Mum's well-being and wanted the best for her. This personal connection is so important when undertaking such a large change in life direction. Lisa's communication was excellent and she was very helpful to both myself and Mum.
My Mum is very happy in her new apartment, is glad she has made the move and has adjusted from living in her old home where she lived for 54 years extremely quickly. I'm very relieved and delighted with how everything went. Thank you Churchill.

On the death of my Father we sold his 'Churchill Homes' retirement flat.
Churchill legal were involved and what a totally abysmal service they offered us.
The sale in my opinion was pretty straightforward. We just required Churchill legal to answer some very basic standard and unremarkable questions as required by our convenyancer.
To say their responses were poor and untimely is an understatement. We had to write and send countless emails just to get a response and as a result nearly lost our buyer and ended up paying additional legal fees ( due to the extra time and work our convenyancer had to do). What could have been answered and resolved in a matter of days took weeks. Disgraceful.
Finally and upon completion of sale Churchill required us to pay a 'probate fee' ( which they could not or would not justify) Remarkably Churchill found the time to chase us for payment via numerous emails. In addition when Churchill are faced with a complaint they very quickly repsond.
Awful service, never again and would not recommend on the basis of my experience

Lodge Manager Melanie Gudgin @ Abbots Lodge Churchill Living has been the most helpful and proficient individual you could meet.
She’s been an absolute godsend to me recently.
Thank you.

Finding out about Churhill independent living at Invicta lodge was the best decision my wife and l made together for a long time. All the help we have received from Churchill has been beyond ones expectations. All the apartments are very nice and something to suit everyone. We are very lucky to have our Lodge manager Aimee whose skill set is invaluable. She is very helpful to everyone and always has a warm and happy welcome.

We have now lived quit happily at Chelmer Lodge, Chelmsford, Essex for 7 years and have had very few problems with the Lodge during this time. The current Manager is Nicola who has been with us for a year and she deserve much praise for her diligence and warm personality, not least for going 'beyond duties' to assist anyone in trouble. A lovely personality and in our view the best we have had. Please don't leave us.

The security at our retirement flats does not exist. People are wandering around the gardens at will. Coming into the car park and using it as a toilet. Going behind and into the rubbish shed to deal drugs. Our lodge manager has been brilliant but the management above her have not been helpful in trying to secure the complex. Apparently we are not allowed to have cctv here although we are not told why.
This has been going on for a year and a half and yet again i am confronted inside the rubbish shed by drug dealers. This is not safe or secure. I have reported to the police and they agreed that cctv would stop it. Drug users do not want to appear on camera and this is why they come here. Nothing has been done. I did not think i would have to act as security for the premises. Perhaps you could explain what measures you are.putting in place for the area around and in the rubbish shed and when.
I am in the process of contacting the press, police, councillors , mp and your ceo by email in the next few days perhaps one of them will help I requested a fob for the front door 2 years ago as i have a dog and have to go out in the dark I STILL havent received one in all that time the company who supplies them cant get them !!!!! Really. The charges are high enough. Also how are you going to stop the men using the garden as a toilet.
It's now January and still nothing been done for security to the rubbish shed. New rules popping up that nobody has ever heard of before. Churchill was not my first choice and I really regret buying a flat here would not recommend.

Aimee worked tirelessly to ensure that the sale of my mum's house went through. Thee were unforseen issues which she worked with other agencies to overcome. Even when mum moved into her new flat at Riverain Lodge, Aimee continued to check in with her and ensure that she was involved in activities.

I have stayed in the guest suite at Goodwin Lodge, Deal on many occasions to visit my sister who is a resident. The suite is always beautifully presented, cosy and warm. Thanks go to Sharon who is the office manager there, as well as ensuring a high standard in the suite she is unfailingly very pleasant and a very helpful person. What a lovely place to stay, the location is great.

We had a most helpful agent Aimee Clist who walked us through the whole experience of purchase. She advised us to use the Churchill house move facilities, solicitors and removal. The process was very smooth and we were kept informed quickly at every stage of the move. It made our move fairly stress free and we can’t recommend it highly enough..

After years of stained and disintegrating ceiling tiles being replaced, and over painting with stain blocking paint.
In 2021 a new lodge manager had a roof survey carried out and independant quotes were obtained to solve Churchill Livings defective leaking roof since construction. Quotes were around £23,000.
Notably with a 20 year product guarantee.
Attempt was made to claim from the NHBC 10 year build insurance but this failed as had been previously reported when it should have been dealt with by Churchill Living!
Following further disrepair and a sham S20 process. This year unconfirmed works were carried out by VMR Construction Solutions contractor who comes up on Google search as a Construction Director for Churchill Living!
Leaseholders service charge funds have now been charged around double (£46,000) the 2021 independant quotes
(Plus another 10% to Churchill Estates Management for Section 20 (non)compliance)!
Aside that VMR Construction Solutions does not appear to provide any product guarantee.
An experienced Churchill Living construction director who specialises in construction solutions may have been the best person to (hopefully) solve their substandard and defective leaking roof.
But Churchill should be paying themselves, not leaseholders paying double independant quotes!

We must thank Carol for making our stay at Clare Lodge, Cowbridge, absolutely perfect.
We have been before and the place is always spotlessly clean, the room is beautifully laid out and there are no shortage of "extras"! This time there was a wonderful array of toiletries to choose from. She goes above and beyond to make our stay feel like a holiday. Thank you again Carol, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Friendly, helpful advice from Aimee at Riverain Lodge, Taunton. Taking time to show me around without any pressure, and sitting to chat over a cuppa, answering all my questions.

As a new owner/resident of Croft Lodge in Aldridge, I am very happy with my whole new lifestyle. The lodge manager is very helpful, and the apartments and the development are lovely. Very convenient for the local shops and local transport.

As a contracted cleaner working at Jubilee Lodge in Fleet, I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in the building and getting to know the environment and people, and I can confidently say it’s a wonderful place.
Tracey, the Lodge Manager is incredibly welcoming, supportive, and approachable. Her friendly and professional attitude sets a really positive tone throughout the whole lodge.
The apartments themselves are bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. It’s clear a lot of care has gone into making them both comfortable and practical for the owners, with lovely layouts and plenty of natural light.
I’ve also found the owners at Jubilee Lodge to be genuinely kind and friendly, always ready with a smile or a quick chat!
All in all, Jubilee Lodge is a warm, well-managed, and beautifully maintained place.

We at Neville Lodge, Peacehaven have now received letters increasing our service fees due to an error at accounts, backdated 2 years!
We have 28 days to pay or face interest!
Seriously this company is NOT customer facing in any of the 10 complaints raised with CL or CEM.
I will write again to the CEO and MD the McCarthy brothers who claim this family company is run to the highest standards.
Maybe this time they’ll reply directly - I won’t hold my breath.
Still no resolution to the multiple complaints raised formally in April 2025 - 6 months. Very customer focused!
Despite your assurances, still no reply or explanation received. A whole week of causing concern to a group of 30 + elderly owners who invested in your marketing promises! Shame on you!
