Avoid at all costs

Where do I start.
If you are thinking of letting your property through Churchill sales and lettings, PLEASE think again and use just about anybody else. They really are the worst company you could choose. Their service is worse than appalling, they don’t answer emails and they make so many mistakes.
My tenants have moved in and now a week later they tell me the agreement has to be done for a third time, I have no documents relating to the letting and have no idea where any of my money is.
The best person I dealt with has left and it went drastically down hill since then. They really don’t seem to have a clue and the worst thing is you just get ignored. They just don’t care.
Even the General Manager has ignored my email.
Their website has been down for nearly two weeks and this really doesn’t inspire any confidence.
Totally incompetent company - avoid at all costs.

Guest room at St Mary's Lodge

Stayed in the guest room at St Mary's Lodge, Birchington on Sea. The room was comfy, clean and the new ceiling fan worked a treat. Many thanks to Fiona, Lodge Manager for making the stay so comy and relaxing. Kim

Spicer Lodge Stourbridge

Today I visited Spicer Lodge in Stourbridge to do a food tasting event from Wiltshire Farm Foods. I was greeted by Maria the lodge manager and was made to feel very welcome. I had a table set up ready for me which made my job easier. All the residents were so friendly, it was a pleasure to be there today. One thing I noticed too was how tidy the gardens were, which made it a very relaxing place to sit. All in all i really enjoyed my time with everyone there.

Greed and incompetence

After my mother's death, the sale of her apartment in Elgar Lodge, Malvern showed that Churchill is all about profit and not a caring company at all. The ONLY company in all probate dealings who actually charged me to receive a copy of the Grant of Probate (£136.80). 8 other firms just accepted and even returned the documents. They then delayed the final transfer of sale proceeds on the day of completion after accusing me of not having paid the current service fees and ground rent. The solicitor was telling me they would therefore need to deduct a further £2500+. I had to phone Churchill twice to say I had bank statement proof that I had paid 19 days earlier but this wasn't accepted. I eventually suggested to them that perhaps they had allocated my payment to the wrong account. After a further delay this was confirmed but I received no apology at all. It is sad that the local Lodge managers try their best and have a demanding and sometimes stressful job. From what I have seen over the years, I would always give them high praise. Indeed, I have previously given a 5 star rating specifically to an ex-manager there. However, it is the controlling management company who let the side down and seem to be lacking in humanity. I am just glad we will never have to deal with these people again.

Just retired so young enough to enjoy our new life

My husband and I moved to Dovehouse Lodge, Hitchin in January 2020 having just retired. Prior to our move, Sales were really helpful and kept in touch regularly to answer our many questions. Everything went well with our move. It’s now 6 years since the move and feel it was the best decision we ever made. Dovehouse Lodge is walking distance to the beautiful market town of Hitchin which we love. We are also surrounded by amazing parks and great garden centres so an abundance of places for coffee etc. Dovehouse Lodge is a lovely place to live. We have the most wonderful Lodge Manager, Linda. Linda goes above and beyond to be there for all the owners. Any help or questions we have, Linda is always there. She is kind, helpful and approachable and we count ourselves so lucky to have her looking after us and the Lodge. Eileen Durkin

£500 bonus

Churchill management decided to give the lodge manager of Chiltern Lodge a £500 bonus for being with the company for 5 years and without the residents knowledge they took the £500 from their account.
There is a word for this and it is theft.

My mother moved into her apartment in 2018. The lodge manager John goes above and beyond helping and supporting everyone. Whether it's getting a paper and some shopping or organising activities such as coffee mornings and bingo he's always there. Thanks John

Mere Lodge, Diss, Norfolk

The care to the residents at Mere Lodge is exceptional. The Manager, Gail Roberts, is extremely helpful and kind. Gail has her residents best interests at heart and goes out of her way to advise and support wherever needed. Gail is always ready with a smile and great rapport.

Negativity of changes at Meadow Court

Moved into Meadow court, Bognor Regis 1 year ago. Management had recently been taken over from not for profit company Housing 21 with whom I had conducted all negotiations. Was assured NOTHING would change under Churchill Estates Management but they have attempted to change everything appertaining to our previous financial arrangements. taking a higher percentage of funds raised by sale of our properties and not paying a percentage of same into our sinking fund (now called a contingency fund) so that any major financial outlay will no longer be covered once this fund is depleted and they can bill us directly (earning yet more of a percentage) They are also trying to foist large expense items onto us which we do not need and have confirmed this with the necessary authorities (who have provided us with legally binding documentation) We are not the normal Churchill Estates property in that we have more autonomy and NO communal areas which is why we differ from their other purpose built estates. However they do not seem able to come to terms with this but are hell bent on raising as much money as possible out of us by foisting all sorts of new arrangements onto us having assured us, in a preliminary meeting with many residents present, that NOTHING would change. This is causing considerable stress on this estate which goes completely against the grain of their promise of "Stress Free Living". Our experience here at Meadow Court is completely the opposite.

FREQUENT VISTOR …

I am a frequent visitor to Goodwin Lodge with some first hand experience of elderly residential developments and have always been impressed with the general presentation of the place and the the efficient, pleasant and welcoming manner of the manager, Sharon.

Absolutely Appalling Experience with Churchill Estates Walthamstow

My experience with Churchill Estates Walthamstow was genuinely awful, thanks to Daniel Casey. He was rude, unhelpful, and completely incompetent throughout. His attitude was dismissive, communication was poor, and he made an already stressful situation far worse than it needed to be.

Daniel Casey should not be in a customer-facing role, let alone a branch manager. His behaviour reflects badly on the entire company, and I feel sorry for anyone else who has to deal with him. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise avoiding this branch altogether.

Living in Homebridge Lodge

Living in Homebridge Lodge, managed by Churchill Estates I find the service and their understanding of elderly people first class. In particular the trustworthy warden is always on hand to deal with any problems we might have. Furthermore she assists us and takes part in events or functions we might organise. It is so comforting to have someone to call upon when required.

Settling in to a new apartment

It is now just over a year since i moved int Elmhirst Lodge in Totnes. During this time Joe our manager has been both a friend and a guiding hand in helping us to acquaint ourselves with the equipment within our apartments. Perhaps more importantly encouraging socially mixing to combat being in a new environment and making new friends. This is perhaps Joe's strongest skill his ability to put people at ease.
