Great and patient teacher in carl. Helped with my understanding of electrics which has always been a pet hate of mine.
Very enjoyable course, informative and interesting, with the benefit of classroom and dock being very close together so in minutes of leaving the classroom you are on the water. Well set up and professional training centre with helpful and pleasant tutor who gave clear explanations.
Great experience from start to finish and a really knowledgeable, engaging instructor.
A well paced course that was very informative and delivered in a way that kept me interested.
Modern and plentiful kit, knowledgeable trainer with real world experience for use in the classroom
I thought this might've been a very basic course just touching on the different systems of an engine. But it was more in depth than expected and very educational. The instructor was Very good at explaining things
Absolutely great Diesel engine course by John yesterday. Perfect learning environment and tone set by John. Explained things so well, simplifying and breaking the items down into the component parts. Fun, entertaining, relaxed style. Modern classroom with great engines to work on and a running one other side. Parking easy and excellent kitchen facilities. All round excellent. Would recommend for and course.
A very practical and hands on with question and answer sessions throughout the day.
It was useful that the instructor was both ex military and paramedic, using his previous experience to set the scenes.
I only have one criticism is that there were 2 members of staff on the course who had a different agenda to the rest of the course members. Otherwise a very enjoyable course with a gregarious instructor

Plethora of knowledge and confidence in what they do.. which they're also very good at passing on to you!
Doug is a fantastic trainer, great experience and he knows very well how to stimolate the students.
Absolute satisfied.
Really enthusiastic instructors and loads of hands-on experience, including with a running engine on the diesel course, building marine electric circuits, plenty of ropes to splice and sails to mend.
The 2 day diesel course (RYA 1 day and supplementary follow on) was great. The instructor was clear and helpful, there was a variety of machinery in the classroom (and outside) to get hands on with. I would definitely recommend anyone that’s looking to do the diesel course to do the full 2 days and not just the RYA 1 day.
Well organised, based on personal experience, adds value.
Well organised, helpful staff. Great tutor and good content
This is the second course I've done with chieftain Training and, as with the first course, it was fantastic. The facilities and equipment were second to none and the trainer was extremely knowledgeable and engaging.
I did the RYA Radar course, very knowledgeable instructor and once again happy I chose Chieftain.
The course was fun, very well organised and boosted my confidence that I could cope if shit happened.
A lot of problem solving. Any questions asked and solved. Very good for boat owners
