Will not respond to email or any contacts about refund for June stay
I booked with them a trip in very early June and asked in an email what is the procedure a credit or refund, heard nothing back. Now if you go out to their website they say contact the Hotel. Big problem there is you didn't book with the hotel, so they can not see the reservation and help. If my trip comes and goes with no refund I will report Cancelon to my state and federal governemnet about what they did.
They should be refunding, or at least giving a credit for the stays during this Coronavirus outbreak.
I WILL NEVER WORK WITH THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I will also not recommend Trivago, as this was the first and last time I will use them. I will get the word out come June should I miss the stay due to the virus and not get my credit or refund!
The worst company around
The worst company around, in a national emergency covid 19, they refuse to refund people's money, answer the phone or respond to emails, horrible scam, run as far as you can from this company, or scam, horrible to take people money in a national emergency covid 19 and refuse to give your money back
Email, Call, Online Form...NO Response
Like many of the new reviews, I had a hotel booked for a soccer tournament in Vegas, which of course is now shut down due to COVID. I contacted Cancelon through their support number 4 different days in a row and just sat on hold for over an hr, because I'm working from home so why not, and no one ever answers. I emailed the support email several times, no response. I used the feature for them to call me by giving them my number, never received a call. Very disappointed. They had a section on their website stating that they could refund these non-refundable reservations for a natural disaster- I would say the fact that the world is in a state of pandemic qualifies as a global emergency/natural disaster, I went through the avenues they suggested I called, emailed, wrote on the support help box, all to no avail, and now the website is shut down. I would avoid booking with them at all costs.
SCAM
If I could, I would give them zero stars. My trip to Israel got cancelled due to COVID-19, no one answered my calls or emails regarding switching dates on my hotel or refunding me my money until we were clear to travel back. Cancelon is a scam!
Never again
Never again . We booked and payed for a two bedroom suite and when we arrived at our destination we had surprise . The booking was for a two beds one room suite . We talked to management and were able to get our two bedroom suite and had to pay $ 150.00 extra for the difference .
First and last , never again.
When it is too good to be true , it is.
Never again
Went through Cancelon(though I had a reservation—pun unintended—about dealing with them due to the suspicious name) for the ACEN 2020 event in Rosemont, IL which has been—surprise!—cancelled.
Sent an email prior to Cancelon cancelling their services, asking if they’d refund. No answer. At all.
Then they shut their website down due to COVID-19, which is highly odd, since you can keep a website running from isolated areas, indicating that I should talk to my financial institution for refunding.
Well, my bank says to contact them because they authorized the transaction.
Sigh.
Every link on Cancelon’s site goes straight to their COVID-19 warning. No go there.
Tried contacting the hotel, but I am sincerely doubting I will get anywhere this way.
In short, I will NOT be doing business with this junk company ever again. In fact, once this virus madness subsided, I will be calling them to give them all $250-worth of my mind.
Bad support, bad policies.
Do not use this company they are a scam…

Please don't use this website it's %100 a scam. I lost hundreds of $$$ booking with them. They're around when you book and no where to be found when needing help. THIS IS A SCAM WEBSITE
Terrible Company
Terrible Company. Never Ever book a hotel room through this company. I called Hyatt to cancel my reservation and I was told that they are refunding ALL reservations because of the pandemic. However, they said that because I made the reservation through a third party I had to request the refund through them Cancelon.com. After several calls and emails without an answer. I called my credit card company. They put a stop on the charge and then Cancelon responded with a refund less 15% fee. I'm calling Hyatt to let them know what Cancelon is doing. This is TERRIBLE SERVICE AND A TERRIBLE COMPANY.
I called to cancel my hotel booking at…
I called to cancel my hotel booking at Toronto's Royal York Hotel for next weekend March 27th and March 28.
I was charged $64.00 for the cancellation fee.
I spoke with Peter, this morning at around 2:00 a.m.
I told Peter that I'm not okay with paying a cancellation fee and Peter told me that it is not possible to waive the cancellation fee.
I requested to speak with a supervisor or management. I was told that there is no such person that exist, no supervisor and no manager. I asked then to speak to someone who is has more authority. Peter advised that there was no person to speak to other he and other agents that would only have the same ability and authority and would only tell me the same information.
I told Peter that there is a person behind this company that has my money in his/her bank account. The company is an entity and can only exist if operated and controlled be an individual and I want to know who that person is and I want my money back. I was told that there was no possibility of getting my $64.00 returned to me. Peter was unable to provide me with any information or contact information for customer service. I see now that this company is not honorable and highly unethical to charge cancellation fees considering the circumstances.
There is no excuse that is acceptable for charging a cancellation fee under these circumstances. I want my $64.00 returned to me.
I don't expect Cancelon will exist for much longer due to the way the company is handling matters.
It is very disappointing that your company chose to profit from this horrific crisis. It's unacceptable.
Here today... Gone tomorrow. Bye Cancelon.
I am allowed to cancel my elderly parents $8000 2 week hotel reservation for the full charge! Ahhh how nice to see a company go out of business because the owners/CEOs have zero ethics and are being greedy. I am not allowed to fly to Grand Cayman, the airport is closed. The hotel is not accepting bookings. Yet I am told to cancel, lose the full amount and they'll see what they can do but it is not guaranteed they can help. How about you see what you can do first and then tell us what we will lose. We have enough stress right now. Maybe be like HOTELS.COM who are letting us cancel non refundable travel and receive....... oh yes, A FULL REFUND!
This is a scam company
This is a scam company! Please do not book anything through “cancelon”...seriously though what kind of company is “cancelon” has scam written all over it
This is the first experience where I’ve…
This is the first experience where I’ve booked a trip online and have had my card charged then cancelled for a bogus reason. They advertised a room that showed available then because I asked for a special request of two beds they cancelled my reservation after booking it. Since when was a special request a reason to cancel a reservation??? LAST TIME I use this service.
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE. Lied numerous times to me about the status of the refund and that they contacted the hotel when in fact they never did. Lied and said that the hotel did not allow a refund.
This company doesn’t even deserve one…
This company doesn’t even deserve one star. I tried to cancel my booking because the event that I was attending got cancelled because of the pandemic. They charged me an $18 processing fee, even though I deserved a full refund. They don’t care that there is a current state of emergency because of the corona virus. They are horrible! Do not use this company
Taking advantage of people during this time
I called and waited for over an hour the first time only to get disconnected when they answered. I have an assumption which is wrong to do but I truly believe they are overworked considering the world right now and they just hang up on people. They probably just don't want to deal with the circumstance. I called back again and waited another 45 minutes. They answered and were very nice. I requested a refund of my hotel which they did but they took a $153.00 fee for themselves which they sent an email telling me as we discussed. WE NEVER DISCUSSED THIS. They basically scammed me and took off the top. If they have a fee with the hotel they should get their money from the hotel not from the consumer. I had to cancel because we can't travel do to restrictions of the world. This is not by choice. Before I wrote this review I emailed them asking again to respond to me and they still haven't in regards to waiving their fee. GIVE PEOPLE THEIR MONEY BACK!!!
Not a service I would ever use voluntarily
As a frequent traveler, I use Kayak as my primary aggregator to find the best bookings, those which match availability with price and flexibility. This means that I often interact with third party services that I don't have a personal account with, such as Orbitz, TripAdvisor, Bookings.com, etc. For the most part these interactions are pleasant. This so far has not been the case with Cancelon. Part of this is that with the global pandemic the entire travel industry has been overwhelmed by the fallout.
This I understand.
Call volumes are orders of magnitude higher than ever before, and CSR staff is inundated. Hold times are 55mins and upwards, and reps are frazzled.
This I also understand.
My frustration with Cancelon is that even after patiently enduring two hour long sessions, I still cannot manage to resolve a booking issue that should be pretty simple at this point. I still hold out hope that there will be some remedy forthcoming, but I can say that at this point I would actively recommend AGAINST their service for any traveler, whether business or leisure.
STAY AWAY!!
Stay away! I booked a stay at the Walt Disney World Swan through Cancelon back in December for a stay in March. I had to call the hotel myself to get a confirmation number because Cancelon never sent me one. Due to COVID-19 and Disney closing their resorts, I contacted the hotel directly and they had no problem with me wanting to cancel my stay, but I would have to do it through Cancelon. I tried calling three times (waited on hold for an hour only to be disconnected) and have sent numerous email requests but have not been contacted by the company. My credit card company can’t do anything because the stay was booked with a no cancellation policy. I will keep trying to get my money back or my trip rescheduled, but I doubt I will have any luck.
SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One star is considerably higher than I would like to give this company! It is a complete SCAM! We had to cancel our trip because the hotel had no booking under either my name nor under the reservation number that they provided me. When I reached out for a refund, they tried telling my that there actually was a reservation...Yet the hotel still confirmed that there was not.
NEVER, EVER USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!!
