Cancelon charged my CC and there is NO BOOKING TO CANCEL!

I paid for a booking with Cancelon via Tripadvisor to the Buenaventura Grand Hotel in Puerto Vallarta for May 3-10, 2020. It was very clear in the booking that if I canceled before April 26, I would have to pay $138. Cancelon already charged my credit card $1,383. I tried to cancel via Tripadvisor and was told by them that I needed to call the hotel since I was not able to reach Cancelon. THE HOTEL JUST TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO RESERVATION FOR ME!!! Tripadvisor was very sympathetic, but ultimately what I ended up doing is a dispute resolution with VISA. They just told me they will handle everything. That was a relief. I have NEVER experienced a blatantly fraudulent business like this before. I understand the travel/hospitality industry is suffering right now, but from what it looks like, Cancelon was a fraud long before the current situation.

How would I request a refund from my…

How would I request a refund from my credit card if I can not get in touch with Cancelon. I called New York New York Hotel and Casino, since I booked through Cancelon for May 18, 2020 and since ii's a 3rd party, the hotel does have my reservation but wont refund my money they don't have my information only a confirmation number. This is so awful that this company closed there business or filed chapter 11 with out refunding our monies. Especially at a time like this. Hope I can get some help from someone. Thank you.

Cancelon did the same thing to us

Cancelon did the same thing to us. I tried calling them and cannot get a hold of them at all. This is so dumb of them and cannot believe they did this during this time. Unbelievable. I will contact credit card company. Good idea.

Booked a trip to Cancun

Booked a trip to Cancun, Mexico through Cancelon.com for first week of June 2020, long before Covid pandemic started. We paid with our Visa-$1800. Then the pandemic started and decided to cancel our reservation and reschedule for later in the year. We called the resort and they did have our reservation, but cancelon had recently cancelled it without notifying us, and no refund given! And now they are filing bankruptcy and their phones are disconnected! Talk about taking advantage of people during a crisis!! Karma is a ****!!

ALL VICTIMS OF THIS HEINOUS CRIME PLEASE FILE WITH INTERNET CRIME CENTER!!!

I booked a hotel reservation through them back on November 16, 2019, for Memorial Day Weekend to visit some family. Since then because of Covid-19, we unfortunately had to postpone. I called the company on 3/19/20 to cancel and spoke to a guy named Mervyn. He told me that they were, "overwhelmed at the moment and were working on solving our issues". He said to call back in 2 weeks and they should have an answer. After the phone call, he emailed me and I responded. I also, sent an email stating our verbal agreement over the phone and that I would follow up in 2 weeks....2 weeks passed and their website is no more. I called my bank and they told me that because it was from so long ago, they are unable to pursue it. In that, when calling my hotel, they had a reservation for me that was made on 11/16/2019 and was cancelled on 3/24/2020....5 days after I was told that they were working on a solution. Total amount was for $565.00

I have 2 confirmed emails from Cancelon.

On 4/6/2020, I found out that the Co-Founder and CEO of CancelOn, Omer Granot, canceled all hotel reservations and kept the money received from the hotels. The site now says that CancelOn has filed for bankruptcy. Rather than losing money from Covid-19 and properly refunding (like many other legitimate businesses are doing), one can only assume that he took our money and filed bankruptcy to avoid taking any kind of financial hit from the Covid-19 crisis himself. He is a piece of crap and should be arrested for fraud.

No phone #

They took my money and ran. Shame on you Cancelon.com and Omer Granot....Please find and arrest this man!!

Filed a report with Internet Crime Complaint Center..

Profits over customer service

Only company to charge us an admin fee when cancelling our hotels due to Covid19. Profiting off customers in this time is disgraceful, will never use them again!

Due to the Covid-19 virus

Due to the Covid-19 virus, I wanted to postpone my trip to Cabo San Lucas. I booked through Cancelon. When I tried to contact the company, the number is no longer in service and there is no way to contact the company. I tried calling the hotel, they do not have a booking under my name so my $3,000.00 is gone. I filed with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.

COVID-19 Scammer

in the same boat as others, CancelOn closed up shop and ran with our money. I had a $900 reservation for next month and just called the hotel to find out the reservation is not even valid. The hotel is offering FULL refunds for all non-refundable and prepaid reservations, thus it is my assumption, Omer Granot the co founder and CEO of CancelOn, canceled all hotel reservations and kept the money received from the hotels. The site now says that CancelOn has filed for bankruptcy now. Rather than losing money from Covid and properly refunding (like many other legitimate businesses are doing), one can only assume that he took our money and filed bankruptcy to avoid taking any kind of financial hit from the Covid crisis himself. He is a piece of crap and should be arrested for fraud. I am filing a fraud report to the FBI and encourage others here who were screwed over by this scumbag to do the same. https:// complaint. ic3.gov/ default.aspx?

(remove the spaces and link will work for FBI internet fraud form), you can also just google "report fraud related to covid" and choose the first link. you can find the link I posted on that page for cyber scams. Omer needs to be held accountable for this crap.

I have 2 confirmed emails from Cancelon.
Don’t book through this company. They take your money and run. Shame on you Cancelon.com

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY!
I booked two rooms for the same dates under my name. Cancelon got confused and asked me to book each room under a separate name which I did. Then they dropped the room under my name and kept the room under the second name even though they kept my money for both rooms. It took FOUR MONTHS and DOZENS OF EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS to get it straightened out. They always gave a cordial reply and made promises to fix it but nothing ever happened.

DO NOT book with Cancelon.com

DO NOT book with Cancelon.com

I reserved a hotel room for an upcoming trip and was checking with all of my appointments to see if they were still happening and found that the cancelon website is frozen and no information can be found. The hotel itself told me that the third party site cancelled the reservation (without telling me). I was still charged and cannot receive a refund from the hotel. Basically, they could steal your money and just not tell you. I will never book anything on cancelon.com again

stole my money

I booked through them for a reservation in Phoenix for Phoenix fan fusion, they cancelled my reservation without telling me, their phone number is disabled and their website is just a page saying that they’re freezing all activities. I’m pretty positive they stole my money and I’m so lost on what to do, I don’t know where to begin to try getting a refund from them. I’m so disgusted by the behavior of this company, it’s so scummy.

Biggest scam ever. Ceased all trade operation during COVID and took all money

I booked a "free cancellation until 4/14/2020" hotel room in February 2020. My trip was cancelled both on side of the airline and the hotel (booked thorugh cancelon.com) who confirmed that no charged will apply as cancellation was made due to governmental decisions due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I was charged on day of booking by cancelon and when i went to contact their support team to request a refund, the webiste was down, a message appeared that due to the COVID outbreak they had "ceased all trading activity" and to please contact the hotels/resorts to request refunds. What a scam! My hotel never changed me but cancelon did. Now they conveniently just "disappeared" during the COVID outbreak and there's no way to request or contact anyone for a refund. I contacted my credit card agency and will see what they say.... STAY AWAY IN FUTURE if they ever decide to reopen their scam services.

Complete Sham

Complete sham. Booked a wonderful holiday to Portugal for later this month. Went to cancel and receive a full refund as still within my rights and they cease to exist as a company, or more specifically have a 'Notice of granting temporary relief'. I called the hotel directly who said they had never received a payment from the company and they even cancelled my stay before I did!

My credit card company are looking into this and I am hoping for a full refund from them. I would suggest for you to do this as soon as possible.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
