Dreadful treatment of solo travellers
Dreadful treatment of solo travellers. Despite paying in full 4 months in advance and Busybus advertising ‘there is plenty of room and a window view for everyone’, solo travellers are directed to the middle back seat and squashed between 2 other passengers with a view of the bus aisle. The driver became abrupt and rude when challenged and sent me to a second bus along with anyone else who objected. That second bus sold tickets on the day and waited until it was full, again with a solo traveller down the back. The guide mentioned there was 55 people on the bus, so I imagine that was 53 passengers. Just utterly greedy behaviour, no need to sell the middle back seat and discriminatory as well because only solo travellers were directed to the middle back seat. Solo travellers beware.
To clarify, I was directed outside the bus to sit in the middle back seat which I told the driver I had paid for as part of the cruise Critic Group, 4 months earlier and I wanted a regular seat. He then rudely pointed me to port workers to find another bus. I never set foot on the first bus and sat with another solo on the second bus.
I'd very much like to know why that middle back seat is sold. There is no window view and you are squashed between two people. I didn't pay for that.
The guide actually asked everyone to go to the websites and leave reviews, good or bad. The dissatisfaction with sitting in the middle back seat goes well beyond me it would seem.
Oh, I didn't ask for any money back, someone else.
Like I say, solos beware.

Adrian was amazing on our north wales…
Adrian was amazing on our north wales tour; the best part of the tour was
That the small bus went through a mountain lane with amazing views of a valley and mountains.

Peter Rabbit and the Lake District
Our day trip to the Lake District from Chester was absolutely an unique and memorable experience. We enjoyed the views of the rugged mountains, green hills and meadows with uncountable sheep, the drives through the winding roads passing by traditional English cottages and an unforgettable walk through the mountains along a small lake. We had enough time to enjoy strolling through the village of Grasmere , and bought some lovely Peter Rabbit souvenirs as the Lake District is the area where the world famous watercolorist and writer Beatrice Potter used to live. Full praise to our guide Frank who not only provided us with historical and recent facts about the area, but is a real enjoyable human being who made the trip into an incredible experience!!

VERY DISAPPOINTING
Day trip to Wales from Liverpool. I am a repeat customer to Busy Bus Tours. 4 years ago my husband and I did a day trip to the Lakes District with Busy Bus which was wonderful. On our return to Liverpool we didn’t hesitate to book another tour with Busy Bus. Unfortunately what we experienced this time was nothing at all like our previous tour. I can’t even tell you who our driver was on the day as he didn’t even introduce himself to passengers. There was absolute bare basics commentary and I mean BARE BASICS. The driver spoke very briefly at each stop. No microphone headset was used so sitting at the back of the bus we could hardly hear and when my husband mentioned this to the driver halfway through our trip he seemed surprised and told us he wasn’t going to shout! My husband explained that we’d driven through countryside and places and we hadn’t been told anything about them, to which the driver said I told you at the start where we were going! It was very unusual. We were given information on only one occasion about where we could find restrooms and never told how long between rest breaks. We stopped to walk along the aqueduct which was an amazing experience but weren’t then taken to a view point to be able to get a photo of this engineering marvel. In fact we walked across the aqueduct got back on the bus and weren’t even told that was the end of our tour and that we’d be heading back to Liverpool. We arrived back at Liverpool at 5.30pm, not 6.15pm as advertised, so time to get photos was available. All in all a VERY disappointing experience. If another day tour company comes into Liverpool and Busy Bus continue to use this driver I’m not sure how the business would survive. We had recently completed two Rabbies tours which were faultless. A don’t like leaving negative reviews but in this occasion I feel I have to give feedback so the company can address this issue and other costumers are not left disappointed.

Outstanding day in the Lakes
Thanks to all at Busybus - especially Frank, the superb driver/guide who turned out to be practically my neighbour! - for a fantastic scenic day in the Lake District. It’s a long day on the road, but despite the typical weather (wet!) the balance of travel and time walking around was great, and the opportunity to have a walk in such lovely, tranquil surroundings was especially appreciated. Excellent value for money and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere: I will be travelling with you again.

NORTH WALES WITH ADRIAN-18/02/2023
I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I met different people and made new friends. I was skeptical when I booked the trip but when the trip started I was glad I didn't cancel. Adrian was excellent. He was engaging and funny. He took our names and made me feel welcome and maintained a very professional and friendly atmosphere through out the trip.
He also educated on the history of places we passed and Wales in general.
we went through llandudno, conwy, we saw the smallest house in Great Britain, pontcysyllte, betws-y-coed etc. My favourite parts of the trip were the fish and chips recommended by Adrian and the mini hike at nant ffrancon.
Overall a great experience and I have recommended this to my friends.

Top experience
Amazing trip, I think Shelly is the best tour guide I ever met! Besides being very cheerful, inspiring, positive, organised, caring, showing the most interesting and beautiful things, informative, she is such an exceptional stories teller, that I had the same pleasure as at some high level stand- up perfomance! We with my daughter took a tour to the North Wales and fell in love with it, exactly as Shelly pomised!

Truly excellent in every way
We were gifted the Busy Bus North Wales adventure, with Shelley as our guide yesterday and have only the highest praise about everything on this trip. The minibus was clean, secure and comfortable. Shelley was the best tour guide possible...warm,entertaining, very informative using a variety of communication methods and inclusive of all her passengers. She obviously loves her job. The trip was well constructed, with the right number of breaks to visit several places of interest on the way. I would rate this way above 10/10 if that were possible! Thank you to all involved for such a splendid day.

A Fabulous day trip to wales
This is our first time traveling to Wales and with Busybus. We had a great day. Our tour guide Shelly was fantastic. She made us feel like our decision to travel with Busybus was right one and we are planning to do more trips with busybus in the future.

Fabulous day to North Wales
What a fabulous day to North Wales. Frank, you're a legend! Historical knowledge & best shops or food outlets to use etc. 👌Not sure about his jokes though😂 I can't even remember some places we visited, felt like we saw all of North Wales, full on tour-great! Just the right amount of time at each stop. Loved the games & interaction esp. being a solo female traveller this really helped. Nice touch playing Ferry Cross the Mersey when we drove through tunnel. Best day ever!
I will certainly be looking out for BusyBus in the future.

Amazing day out
Adrian (Charlie) was superb on 9/08/2022 to the Lake District. So informative, humour and friendly. He helped me with my push chair on some really rocky paths so I could get photos. He was brilliant with my 2 year old Jude. If anyone hesitant about taken young children on this trip…please don’t be my 2 year old loved it. The tour was just amazing. A really enjoyable day out from start to finish. Thank you BusyBus Tours and many thanks to Adrian for an amazing day!!

#Tour from hell
The drive through this area is beautiful BUT:
We booked this tour four months in advance because we wanted to visit Inveraray Castle and learn about Scottish history and culture. Imagine our disappointment when the Castle was closed due to a Highland games activity (or so we were told). I looked it up later, as many other tour companies, on the same day had visited the Castle. It seems there are no public tours on Tuesdays or Wednesdays but BusyBus had not registered in advance for us to visit. POOR PLANNING
We also were forced to listen to terrible sounds as the Guide tried to play Scottish music and comedy routines for five hours from his iPhone thru a hand held mike while we drove as the bus sound system was broken. Many of the passengers spent the entire drive looking at amazing views with their fingers in their ears trying to block the sound. Luckily, we were without internet connection for an hour and enjoyed the silence. (The guide was totally oblivious to the needs of his passengers). He only apologized for the state of the bus and our discomfort once he began asking for 5 star reviews.
The dilapidated bus rented by BusyBus in Greenock, the air conditioning did not work and the heat could not be turned off. Everyone was soaked with sweat when we got off the bus. When I spoke to the guide after the tour, he apologized for the state of the bus, but told me that they would be using this same company for the rest of 2022, as they were not able to find buses. We were not even offered an ice cream or a bottle of water in compensation for this situation. The bus driver and Guide opened their window and had a breeze. Hashtag #BUSFROMHELL.
We are experienced travellers, and have participated in many tours but this guide did nothing to add to our enjoyment of the day. He was the worst tour guide we have ever had. One wonders when the bus driver is dressed better than the guide. He seemed to be reading anything he did tell us off GOOGLE, so we learned very little about Scottish history or culture. He did organize a scavenger hunt to entertain us. We were to find a picture of the two Scottish flags, a Scottish cow, a pipe player, and a haggis. Four of these five items were pictured on the pamphlet he handed us at start of tour!!! so not much of a game.
We had booked a tour of Chester from Liverpool with this company in April 2022(four months in advance) and were told only the week before, once we had left home, that the Chester tour was cancelled leaving us no time to reschedule something else. We were very disappointment. Imagine our surprise, when we were told that BusyBus were not able to get a bus large enough to accommodate 24 passengers so decided to cancel the five of us and rent an 18 seater. Others were able to go on the tour. As we were told that as we were last to book (in April?) they cancelled us a week before? When did they try to book the bus? once again, POOR ADVANCE PLANNING
This leads us to believe this company is very disorganized and last minute. If they had rented buses earlier they may have had a working bus for the Greenock tour, they would have known that reservations needed to be made for Inveraray Castle on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they may have been able to rent a bus to accommodate people booking four months in advance for the Chester Tour or at least notified us that they would not honour our reservation in time for us to book elsewhere.
We had another tour booked in Holyhead with them and after this dismal experience asked for a refund of the Wales tour. The Company refused to refund our money. We decided to give them another chance. So we were not surprised when the tour scheduled to leave at 7:15 did not leave until after 8am and our first stop was Caernarfon Castle for a one and a half hour stop at 9:00am. The castle was closed, the town shops were closed, even the public toilet was closed!!!! Again, very poor planning on part of organizers. This lack of organization of times is often repeated on Busybus tours.
We did have an excellent guide for the Holyhead tour and learned a lot about Wales.
Were the sites beautiful and well worth seeing - absolutely but
BUSYBUS is very expensive for what you get!!!! I suggest one try another Company.

North Wales Day Trip
It was my first trip in UK. I toured with my wife and 3 year old kid. We really enjoyed it. The driver Frank was so funny and brilliant. Being a native of Wales, he knew every nook and corner of the places we visited. He was "History Man" with vast knowledge on the Greek/Roman invasions, politics and social life. He kept on entertaining us with his interactive sessions and stories. The tour started on time from Liverpool and ended on time again back in Liverpool. We covered all the 5 main attractions with reasonable time frames allowed to spent at each destinations. My kid really enjoyed the beaches, canals and the Marina of Conwy. We will definitely plan to choose another tour in near future. Highly recommended.

City kid hits The Lakes with mum in tow...
Unfortunately, I'm currently a parent who has to juggle wanting my outgoing 5 year old to experience new adventures & the chance to create new memories, but also being aware that some excursions are best suited for when my daughter is a little older, lest she be considered a nuisance. Thankfully in this instance Frank immediately put my mind at ease & my latter worries were extinguished. Straight from the get go, Sadie was made to feel included & as the day passed, she became more & more at ease within the group setting. She was free to participate in any conversations & her willingness to get involved was encouraged. Naturally, this then made my own day much more enjoyable & stress free.
The tour itself is well thought out, with a map provided that gives a brief outline of the day. Frank kept us very much in the loop about our current & next destinations & was clear with directions & meeting times upon arriving. Once at The Lakes, the tour was just the right mix of driving & being able to stretch our legs, with adequate restroom breaks along the way. My 5 year old managed well in this regard so anyone else worrying about that aspect should be okay.
The locations covered a broad mix of genre - historic sites, picturesque opportunities for photography hobbyists, a boat trip & of course the chance to sample some amazing gingerbread.
Sadie is currently at that great age where she is absolutely embracing the outdoors & coming to realise how truly beautiful our country is & Frank only encouraged this new found enthusiasm with his knowledge, humour & great manner of storytelling. It was refreshing to see my little girl make little friends in the group & get stuck right into what makes The Lakes such a great adventure. At one point she completely bypassed a bridge a few feet away, merely sniffed at the stepping stones and waded ankle deep across a stream, all whilst cackling & enjoying the sensory aspects of her new environment. Thank god for washing machines, that's all I can say 🙈.
As the day passed, Sadie became more & more immersed in her surroundings - judging by her appearance - much to the delight of Frank. Sadie & the other young members of the group were allowed to be kids & wear themselves out. Truly, I've never heard such laughter on a group outing with "strangers".
A big thank you to Frank for such a lovely tour & for making my little girls day. We learned a ton of new facts about The Lakes, experienced places we wouldn't have even known existed otherwise & truly enjoyed the small touches such as the driving theme tune for "Franks Roller-coaster" & the Beatrix Potter books.
I 100% recommend booking a place. Not even the drizzle could dampen the positive vibe. We'll be back before Sadie takes up her new tour operator position 😂

Had friends up from London wanted me to show them North Wales but ended up using busybus from Chester bus tour. Wow what a great fun day - the bus driver was so funny, entertaining and so knowledgeable and knew more than me having lived in Wales - Highly recommend !!!
