Top quality "emergency" service

I had the unfortunate experience of ruining my cell phone during a whitewater canoe trip...more water than a waterproof case could handle. As a result, I lost access to my Authenticator codes, the email with which I log in, cell phone service, and ability to change and receive passwords. It was a very complicated procedure to restore access to my account. Carl answered my many emails promptly as we tried different methods to restore my account. This kind of communication and persistence really remove doubts about customer service for online accounts where usually you deal with a bot or emails which seem to disappear into cyberspace.

Don't use them

Don't use them, they let you trade on their platform for outrageous fees and then hold your funds and won't release them, their support is the worst

They have stolen my 500$ doge deposit heard from customer service one time and they won’t respond period anymore. If you want people who will just take your money and not respond Carl and Brennan the employees are for you.

Ha ha I knew this company would go…

Ha ha I knew this company would go down. I placed two reviews about Bitbuy already, and for fun I just keep coming back here to see more 1 star reviews and I'm smiling. All my friends already closed their Bitbuy accounts because of how they treated me by closing my account for no reason at all. I am surprised they are still allowed to operate this shady business here in Canada.
Good luck to the remaining customers. Lets see how long they last.

Bitbuy's Delayed Withdrawal and Invasive Information Requests Cost Me Time and Money

I attempted to withdraw bitcoin from Bitbuy, but my transaction has been stuck in Pending for four days, despite numerous attempts to contact customer support. I reached out to Bitbuy's support team, and they asked me for more information every day, wasting my time and causing further delays.

They asked me why I wanted to withdraw the bitcoin and where I intended to send it, which seemed unnecessary and invasive. They also asked me to confirm my bitcoin wallet, which I had already done in my initial withdrawal request.

The delay caused me to miss out on an opportunity to invest the bitcoin elsewhere, and I incurred additional fees because of the delay.

Overall, my experience with Bitbuy was frustrating and disappointing. I cannot recommend their services due to the delays and unnecessary requests for information.

** At the end they closed my account and forced me to sell my bitcoins back into CAD (FEES $52) and then I had to withdraw my funds back into my eTransfer (FEES $36.89) Bitbuy WON after all.

Complete trust in the company to handle…

Complete trust in the company to handle my account. I had a potential problem and the support team led by Rebecca jumped on it and handled it perfectly. Great over all experience. Around the time of march 20th and have continued to keep in touch and maintain that everything is 100%. Absolutely positive rating.

Moving forward on Mar 27, 2023 I tried to logging and once again did not receive my two step authentication text msg. So I created another support ticket (268040). I sent them the previous email with the previous support ticket number (257347). Both support tickets were provided with photo selfie with drivers license as requested. When I followed up they told me there was an issue with my driver’s License, I told them that it was my Gov issued License. I scanned my License, sent in 3 photos with my selfie and a scan of my driver’s license as well. This was the same License I used to join BitBuy a few years back [which I also sent] so its confusing why they aren’t not processing this request. It feels like they are avoiding me and withholding access to my funds/account on purpose. Their response below:

On 3/29/23 I tried calling them 4 times, and they hung up on me 4 times, they are also not responding to any emails when asking for updates. Changing a phone number should not take in excess of 30 days, let alone, lack of communications, citing a falsehood about my government issued drivers license in order to deny processing of a simple change, and denying me access to my funds/account is disturbing to say the least.

WORST OF THE WORST

Everyone please pay attention to all the one-star reviews and get yourself out of this exchange ran by such incompetent people, it is mind boggling.
I exchanged multiple emails with Nauman, and still have no idea why they closed my account, sold my coins on my behalf at a huge loss, and pretended like it is ok to do so.
I don't think they are going to last much longer, considering they made a lot of people very unhappy.
Your assets aren't safe; therefore you should transfer them somewhere else before they force sell them at a loss.
What happened to me is very scary. I transfer small amount of Bitcoin in 2021 to an exchange called TEX-Pro which was a fraudulent website unbeknownst to me at that time, of course. I was very lucky, caught on to the scam and was able to withdraw that amount back. I was able to do so because I believe it wasn't a huge amount. A year later I received an email from Nauman asking about that transaction. So much time has passed, I had no idea what he's asking about and was thinking I was getting scammed again and ignored his email. I have many accounts on multiple platforms and not once any of them ever contacted me, so I thought it was just another scam. Then, I received another email saying that the issue was resolved, so I thought all is good, right? Not with Bitbuy! I received an email stating my account is closed and I have 5 days to sell my assets and get out. But they didn’t give me five days! They started selling my coins on my behalf at a loss right after I received that ridiculous email, I didn’t even get the chance to transfer them out. I tried contacting Nauman but he just gave me run arounds. You think you have control of your money on Bitbuy?? No you don’t! Think twice, do you want to put your money somewhere where other people can manipulate it whatever way they like?
So, what I think why they closed my account is two reasons: They wanted to get rid of evidence of their incompetence where the exchange was not able to protect their client’s assets by not recognizing the fraudulent destination to which money was sent, or basically I just wasn’t doing enough transactions on the exchange, so it wasn’t worth for them to keep me. I can’t think of any other reason, and Nauman, of course won’t say anything. Let’s get real, their fees are outrageous. Even if they would reinstate my account, I want nothing to do with them. Never in my life I was treated like a criminal. I have excellent credit score in this country, and I am proud of doing things right. My only mistake was to trust Bitbuy!

I tried to withdraw BTC and it's pending for 8 days, I was speaking with the support, they wanted me to send my documents but in my account there is no option to send my documents, I reached them again and until now I cannot verify my identity and I answered all their questions regarding my BTC withdraw and they didn't release, I cannot even exchange back to CAD and send back to my bank account and I have no support at all.

Horrible customer service & fraudulent business

I started using bitbuy this year January 2023. I sent about $1,380 cad. They wouldn’t let me withdraw to my wallet, they started to ask different personal questions that it was a customer relationship routine questions. After responding to them via email, up till this moment, they couldn’t resolve my case. My case is been handled by one Rebecca T. They asked for more details about the activity occurring in my binance wallet, which is wrong! Up till this moment, I am unable to withdraw my bitcoin, I can’t send out. They have a horrible customer service! I will advice anyone to never, I repeat never use this service. Pls spread this message across to save your friends and family in their crypto journey. Never use them. ! Bitbuy is a criminal organization, they are fraudsters working in there. They will deny you access to your money. They’d want you to send them your cold wallet so they could scam you’! Do not! I am just waiting for them to liquidate my bitcoin and send my funds back to my account that’s all.

Refusing to release my crypto & liquidating me

WOW WOW WOW these crooks took it upon them selves to liquidate me at a loss and refuse to release my coins. I spoke to an account manager. he hung up on me. VP of support said that my 2 BCH 48 polygon and 37 Dot was way to high a risk for them?!! I phoned the SEC she gave me Ph. number Chief compliance officer. I left him 3 messages he has not called me back. They are on fractional reserves and are not holding any crypto at this point. I emailed them endless amount all to be liquidated at a loss. PLEASE EVERYONE USE EXTREAM CAUTION!! They are crooks and going down. They stole all of my crypto and closed my account. Dirty rotten scoundrels !!!!

I bought BCH and they would not let me…

I bought BCH and they would not let me withdraw my 2 BCH after numerous emails .I wanted to withdraw to my ledger cold storage wallet for safe keeping. They would not release my crypto to me. Simply appalling. They said they were regulating me. Too bizarre. Horibal site I'm disgusted. With Rebecca T team lead she is a power tripper. My money and she would not release it to me very dangerous site.
Current update im Concerned that they are planning an Einstein Exchange that was in Vancouver where I had to personly go to get my BTC and bash some heads. Hopefuly this does not turn into a Quadrigae Fiasco. CANADA

Do not use this platform

Do not use this platform. Listen to the reviews below as they a true. The fact that they even ask what your money is being used for when you withdraw it should be a huge red flag. IT IS NO ONE'S BUSINESS WHAT YOU USE YOUR MONEY FOR!! LET ALONE BITBUY. They keep saying that they are federally regulated but that means nothing. Even if they are legit it is way to much bs to use them and just not worth it. Go somewhere else.

Rapidly going downhill!

I have been with Bitbuy for approx. 3 years, but sadly enough have seen a rapid decline in its reliability and in its customer support over the past year. Numerous support tickets go unresolved for months, if in fact hey are ever resolved. I currently have at least 5 outstanding issues which have not been resolved for months now. All I get continuously is a response from CS telling me that their tech team in working on it. Really? I think that the reality is that their tech team rarely resolves anything, but create more problems, and that is exactly where Bitbuy is now. They have a tech team which is in way over their head, obviously accounting for the numerous times that their trading platform is down for one reason or another, for extended periods of time.

Update: This is basically the same response that I have been getting for the past year...to be patient. Really? How patient must one be to put up with a totally incompetent tech team that has never fixed any of these major issues for almost a year now? The reality is that Bitbuy employs a tech team that is simply not qualified to do the jobs they are assigned. Hence it is the customer who must pay for the company's failure to put a better tech team in place...one can can actually fix the problems which occur and do so in a timely manner.

Fintrac scam.

Ok. So I have been using this site, Bitbuy, to buy crypto since March 2019. I recently have been using other sites to trade crypto. I was trying to buy a listed token today as the market tanked, Great buy opportunity. Listed price on bybit was $10US. Price on this site $27cad. Way off! Great arbitration or huge rip off....you choose. If I had millions I would sink this site. Where is CZ?

Had a very frustrating experience…

Had a very frustrating experience trying to resolve a tech issue with Bitbuy. many emails, screen shots, back and forth, frustrating experience.
Then Jenn took over. The best customer service support i have received from anyone anywhere.
I deal with a lot of service providers and often need support, i know the difference.
She was patient, kind, most importantly clued in to the essence of what i was trying to do (as oppose to fluffing me off to some hypothetical problem), offered solutions... and even followed up after the problem was resolved...everything one would need from an excellent customer service or tech support.
Thanks again, Jenn, for all your help and patience and finally bringing resolution to something that has taken so many hours of my time and frustration to get resolved. I wish it worked this way with all other tech and service support cases we all encounter on occasion.
