Tastes like SPITE - Birds Eye Chunky Breaded Fish Fingers…

Birds Eye Chunky Breaded Fish Fingers are utterly awful and the worst fish I have ever had. They tasted off and we have thrown up and thrown these “things” straight into the bin. Birds Eye MUST BE STOPPED FROM SELLING THIS APPALLING STUFF. OF COURSE IT IS SUSTAINABLE BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO EAT THIS ***** (rhymes with “SPITE”).

Bought Battered cod fillets

Bought Battered cod fillets.
I've not had cod fillets from Birds Eye for years. They are a shadow of their former glory
Stodgy nasty pap.
Batter was thick and although crispy, the inside was just a messy stodge of reformed fish adhered to the batter.
Really nasty.

Not ashamed to say I like BirdsEye Burgers

I'm going against the grain and I'm not ashamed to say, I still love Birds Eye Beef Burgers, either original or the premium. I get tired of all these 'gourmet' pretentious BBQ'ers turning their noses up at the good old BirdsEyes. The original still has nearly 80% beef plus 14% onion and the premium has 89% beef.
I like them and I don't care who knows it.
I don't believe BirdsEye deserves such a low Trustpilot rating.

They taste like cardboard!!!

Birds Eye Beef (I use the term lightly) burgers have always been a family favourite. However after a not buying them for sometime, I did so and here’s the feedback. They taste like cardboard and it seems there’s little or no beef or onion in them. What a waste of time and money!

If I could rate less I would

If I could rate less I would. I have just cooked a lasagne and I can honestly say I do not know how Birdseye can sell it with a clear conscience. It is a tasteless slurry destined for the bin. What a disappointment.

Birdseye Voila Garlic Chicken

My husband and I used to get this years ago, and we really liked it. But I’ve bought the Voila Garlic Chicken a few too many times now. Who gets the florets?? It’s never been anyone in Pittsburgh PA, that’s for sure. What is called broccoli and what is pictured on the bag is certainly not what we get. The only broccoli I see has been the stalks. And everyone has to admit, that’s not the favorite part for any of us. We’re continually disappointed by this product. So this is the last time I’m buying it, and that’s why I decided to write to you. There’s only a skimpy amount of chicken but tons of carrots. I just wanted you to know of another customer’s opinion. Please make an announcement if you ever decide to make this a palatable food.

Very sly marketing ploy.

I complained about a Birdseye fish dish which was disgusting to say the least. After I complained Birdseye sent me 5 x £1 vouchers which I could only use 1 voucher against any 1 purchase at a time regardless of the cost ( my original purchase cost £4). I called Birdseye back to complain further and was advised this was known to them that retailers would only accept 1 vouchers per purchase. This in fact then meant I would be obliged to make 5 Birdseye purchases to use up the vouchers (if I wished to use them) which strikes me as a very sly marketing ploy or as advised by their customer services to take the vouchers to other retailers to see if they would accept more than 1 voucher at a time. They have now said they will send out different vouchers for another of their products but I can only see the same problems occurring. Shame on Birdseye! Very very poor.

The coating was inoffensive

The coating was inoffensive, but the fish itself tasted awful. I’m not gluten free by choice, so having to pay so much for a substandard fish feels very unfair. COD or haddock would have been better.

1 Star – If I could rate it less, I would.eef burgers and…

Tried Bird’s Eye beef burgers and honestly, I’ve had puddles with more meat content. Nothing but water-based crap – I think the cow just looked at the mix before they sealed the box. Once cooked, they shrank faster than my confidence at a family quiz night. Ended up smaller than a Poundland yo-yo that’s been run over twice – and not even a satisfying circle, more like a sad meat comet.

I considered feeding them to my dog, but even he looked at me like I’d just insulted his mother. “Bugger off, I’m not eating that,” he seemed to say, before walking off in protest.

Avoid at all costs – unless you’re on a strict diet of disappointment and regret.

The Birds Eye breaded chunky fish…

The Birds Eye breaded chunky fish fingers I recently purchased tasted absolutely FOUL! They tasted mouldy and earthy and ended up in the bin. I contacted Birds Eye, but all I got was a load of garbage (very appropriately named) on how ethical the company was and how Basa fish was sustainable and oh so very very good for you. I also was offered compensation, which I rejected. This fish is a bottom feeder and Birds Eye "farm" it in the Mekong Delta - a very polluted river.
Come on Birds Eye. This product is (im)pure unadulterated crap. What even upsets me more is that the FSC (displayed on the items carton) bends over backwards in telling us how good basa is. There may be "good" basa products, but Birds Eye is certainly not one of them.
