Perfect storage options in the perfect location
I will be moving to Essex from Hertfordshire sometime this year and wanted to find a storage locker that was convenient. After searching the web I found big blue squirrel which also happened to be in the perfect location. I requested a quote online and Steve got back to me very quickly and suggested I have a look to guage the size. I did so and found a warm welcome and a tour of the different size lockers until I came across the one that was perfect. Big blue squirrel has only been open in Maldon a short time and is only the second branch which makes for a more personal service than you would get from a bigger company. The price was competitive also. I highly recommend their services.

I recently have rented a unit and had to visit the offices twice. On both occasions the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The unit is clean and access is very easy - highly recommend!

The elevator is a complete pain
The elevator is a complete pain, there are never enough trolleys and acces to the unit it is very narrowed due to opening hours when most of people will be working during the opening hours of the storage facility, overall service is poor for the money

We are sorry that you felt the need to give us a 1 star rating. As you can see from previous reviews we have received, a lot of our customers have given us 5 star reviews and are more than happy storing at Big Blue Squirrel Self Storage and feel that the service is great value for money.
All customers are provided training on how to use the lift when they move in and sometimes issues related to the lift that are outside of our control occur but we aim to ensure such matters are rectified very quickly.
We have several trolleys available for customers to use to transport their items around the building. However there may be occasions where there is a high level of traffic in-store which may impact availability of the lift and trolleys, though this is infrequent.
We are also very transparent when it comes to our opening hours which you can find on the landing page of our website, on Google and on various signage around the building, as well as informing customers verbally at the point of making an enquiry with us and again when they move into the storage unit.
We are sorry to hear that you feel our service is poor value for money. We can see on your account that you were offered 50% off your first 4 weeks rental when you moved into your storage unit.
