I’ve had mortgage payments protection with them for 18 years. I’ve recently been made unemployed. They didn’t care, even though I’d been working for years. Don’t ever expect a payout. They’ll find a... See more

Having AXA insurance is equal to no insurance
We have home insurance with AXA Ireland and had a tree fall on our garage roof following the storm. Initially we managed to get through to them and they organised someone to take a look and it all seemed to be going well - and that's where it ends. It's been almost three weeks now and we have a tree just sitting on the roof posing a massive danger. They told us they would use a certain contractor, we managed to get hold of the contractor directly as it was complete radio silence from axa, and they firstly had no awareness the tree was still there and were not able to remove it, and secondly, the contractor couldn't even say if he was available in the next few weeks/months. Their service is diabolical and there's not a chance in hell I would recommend them.
Broken windows…
My son Kevin put in a claim for broken windows back in Novemer 2024 so far he is still waiting for his claim to be settled he's phoned and emailed and ea h time told someone will ring him back they never do. It's a disgrace he has 4 children between 1 year and 9 years can't keep the house heated as all down stair window broken by vandals and this company doing nothing to help. How many more months will he have to wait
I'm glad I'm with aviva I wouldn't touch axa with a barge pole
Terrible experience with a third party…
Terrible experience with a third party claim after car crash that was other party’s fault. Staff extremely rude, refused to provide any justification for the low ball valuation and refused to review evidence provided to support an alternative valuation. A lengthy process, a huge waste of my time, dealing with a different member of Axa’s rude staff every time I phoned them. Multiple callback promises not honoured by Axa. I received more calls from the car rental company to state Axa had taken the car off rental than I did from Axa over the entire process. The only positive thing I can say is they arranged a replacement car within 2 days of the accident, but then they repeatedly use the threat of taking it off hire as a pressure tactic throughout. I honestly don’t know if other insurers would have been different but I will never touch these guys with a barge poll for the rest of my life. Writing this now as the reality that I will need to pony up an additional 4k in addition to settlement to get close to anything comparable to my car.
Horrendous Experience with AXA Claims – Would Not Recommend
I had the misfortune of dealing with AXA for an insurance claim after my car was stolen and later recovered. From start to finish, the process was a nightmare.
Despite submitting all requested documentation promptly—including a police report, damage repair costs, and all additional details—the claim was delayed for months. It took countless follow-ups and a strongly worded email just to get them to review the case. And when they finally made a decision, they denied the claim on the most ridiculous grounds—a lack of photos of a flat tire, brake pads, and discs. How was I supposed to provide these when the car went straight to the garage after being recovered by the Gardaí?
This is not the level of service I expected as a paying policyholder. I followed all procedures, provided all necessary evidence, and still got nothing but stress, delays, and excuses. Jacqueline Doherty, who handled my case, was aware from the beginning that I had complied with every requirement, yet they let the process drag on for months only to deny the claim in the end.
Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind, but my experience with AXA has been anything but that. This company seems more focused on finding ways to deny claims than helping their customers in times of need. What’s the point of paying for insurance if they don’t actually step up when something happens?
If you’re considering AXA for your insurance, think twice. My experience has been a textbook example of how not to treat a customer.

This is a very bad company to deal with very bad customer service , my car had to go in for a service so I rang to put my insurance on another car just for one day while my car went in to garage, was told this could not be done left me with no transport for work after organising a car and did not care very bad attitude no reason given left me stuck, I also have house and motor bike insurance with them and have 7 family members with insurance with this company , never will we get insured with this company again if I could give less then 1 star I would, my advise is shop around nothing good about this company
Ignorant Customer Service
Was with AXA for 7 years since I started driving (spent €8,000 +). I’ve had no issues with customer service until now. I rang to renew and the quote I was given was higher than my previous years and the excess had gone up. I told them I would get quotes elsewhere and get back to them. When I rang back 2 days later, the young fella on the phone snapped at me saying I had rang 2 days ago and that was the final quote - as if I was an inconvenience to him. He was the most ignorant customer service person I’ve ever experienced.
Absolute shit show of a company. A tip for anyone renewing insurance - I got insurance for €230 cheaper with AIG through Revolut.
Always brilliant to do business with
Always brilliant to do business with on my classic policies.
Gerry in the Naas Branch is always friendly.

Rude customer service on asking the cancelation of policy the guy suddenly changed his tone of speaking. Been with axa for more than 5 years and on renewal they sent me almost same quatation as last year which is supposed to be cheaper alot coz of no claims and points. Other company gave a very reasonable price which includes everything that axa is offering... on asking why is it same as last year customer service guys starts their on insurance policy and people making too much claims.
Very disappoint with their customer service at the end.
They lie and leave you without insurance
My policy was ment to auto renew today with axa. As usual axa can't do the simplest of things. Policy wasn't renewed and I'm without car insurance. Meaning I missed a hospital appointment which took 3 year to get appointed to.. now they try charge me more when I try to get new quote online.. !!! BOYCOTT AXA CAR INSURANCE IRELAND!! BUNCH OF LIARS
AXA - 4 years of subpar service...
Have been with AXA for 4 years, every year they send me a "why didn't you renew" email, after my policy has lapsed.. but no renewal notice.
This time around I asked them how this continues to happen, and the customer service agent just said, "we've sent out the renewal notices, if you didn't get it, it's your responsibility to make sure you're insured" - So, I took my business elsewhere... now happily insured with Zurich.
I recieved a letter from AXA 2 weeks…
I recieved a letter from AXA 2 weeks before Christmas telling me that they were going to invoke my policy for not providing my proof of claims document which I had done twice to the email address that they gave me I had to sort it out over the phone by sending it to one of there workers work accounts and still I didn't recieve an apology from AXA for the inconvenience and annoyance caused from them.

8 months passed after car accident and still can’t settle my case..
Take your money any chance they get.
I was with this company for 4 years and never made a claim. They charge 30 euros every time you want to change something on your policy. Over the 4 years, I gave them over 2000 euros. When I got a new car, a similar engine size but newer, they wanted to add a further 190 euro to my policy as well as the 30 euro "administration" charge. You get no loyalty or kindness for being a good customer or a good driver. They also make it difficult to get your no claims bonus and a refund when you change to a new company. I am very disappointed with this company.
This company is HORRIBLE
This company is HORRIBLE to work with. It has been over a year since my accident, and I am still waiting for the claim to be closed and to receive my money back.

Terrible company to deal with as a…
Terrible company to deal with as a third party claimant. Liability not an issue. Four weeks on and still no engineer report to say if my car is written off. Constant phone calls for updates are the only way to move them along. At one stage I was told it was written off and post keys and cert to Axa. Good job I waited for confirmation as this was incorrect. Still waiting for a decision. Four weeks of hire car through insurance no wonder premiums are so high. No urgency to deal with my claim at all.
I recently tried to get temporary car…
I recently tried to get temporary car insurance on a car and they refused to give it to me as I had way to many temporary cars beforehand this is outrageous as I have no control over my car breaking the lady from their customer service was more judgmental than helpful and I felt uncomfortable during the call. The issue was resolved but the customer service has effected my opinion on their company
Wouldn't accept my over 9 yrs no claims
Recently moved to Ireland from the UK and tried to get a quote on van insurance. Couldn't get the quote done online and had to call in. The representative wouldn't accept my over 9 year no claim bonus as it didn't happen in Ireland so quote went no further.
Went to Allianz, sent them my no claim certificate from Directline in the UK/ this was then verified between the two companies and then quote offered. Really happy with their price / their efficiency and great communication - Allianz that is.
Can't see myself bothering with AXA again.
