O Stars !!
O Stars !|I write to reiterate the other negative reviews submitted in regards to this Company. I engaged their services to recover a personal debt of £ 1500.00 in September 2025. The Debtor paid them the sum in entirety 30 September 2025. Despite sending continuous emails , I have received no reply or acknowledgement other than initial, curt and anonymous reply . There is literally no way of contacting this Company , other than their New Business Line . In itself of course this is a MAJOR " Red Flag." I am today filing a claim with the small Claims Court and have reported the matter to Trading Standards . I am disabled and the stress of this has made me so terribly unwell . Please read the reviews before contacting this company. As a former Corporate Procurement Manager , I have dealt with hundreds of organisations throughout the course of my career and have never encountered such appalling / non existent service. Again, please use due diligence and read all reviews before making contact with this Company.
Crooks and Liars
In 2019 I split up with my ex girlfriend in 2019 at her instigation. Then she refused any communication and despite written correspondence to the contrary claimed the funds I had transferred to her business account of the previous 4.5 years was a gift and my collection of art and furniture that she agreed to store where also a gift
I found Ayom on line and representative came to my house and stated “ I had a rock solid case” and my supporting evidence was a home run
They requested a % of claim in advance and i paid them almost £4000.00
From this point I have subsequently
. Heard nothing from AYOM other than empty promises when i call them
. They had stopped home visits because of lockdown
. Received absolutely nothing back if money or property
AYOM are a bunch of crooks and deceive you you false claims and promises
Avoid at all costs
Update
Ayom - Replied saying I had cut and pasted a previous review but this is wrong and that they where not aware of the full facts which is a blatant lie . I am issuing a Bankruptcy Order tomorrow against them
I called to discuss my issue and a representative told me that they stopped door step calls during lockdown and have never restarted them. And when I questioned this she saying she did know what was going on she put the phone down

Do not use this company
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
Although they collected funds for me, they failed to pass the payments on. They held the funds for more than nine months without making any payments.
After I contacted Action Fraud, I was advised to stop making payments while they investigated the company. As a result, Ayom issued me with an invoice for £12,000, claiming that I had breached the terms of the contract.
I took the matter to court at the end of July, and the court issued a County Court Judgment (CCJ) in my favour. The judge ruled that the company had breached its own contractual terms by failing to make payments within 28 days.
Despite the judgment, the company has still not paid the amount ordered by the court.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
If there was less than 1 star I would give that. 2 good reviews and 40 bad reviews. Not sure how they cooked such a good looking green line on positive reviews. We paid up front for a service. They have collected monies but not paid them back to us. 3 + years later no one in Customer Service replies by email or phone to us. When we call they cannot deal with our query as it is a different department and they will get them to contact us. Nothing. If you contact new business they are all over you like a hot rash. On the face of it the company looks fraudulent or broke..... We are at our wits end and it's the worst service from a company we have ever dealt with across the entire board.
Cowboys, dont pay you after client has paid them.
They did well to get the money from client after a few months. However we have been waiting over 6 months to get our money from them.
They dont let you speak to anyone other than collections and to send an email and then they never respond to emails.
Currently taking them to small claims court.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
They take your money and promise you the earth.
Even if you have already done all the hard work yourself of securing a CCJ against your debtor like I had, all they do is send the same weekly text message to your debtor which is always ignored because it is so weak and pathetic until the allotted time runs out and then they close your case without even informing you, and they call that effective debt collecting! It's a joke!
Their endless contract small print allows them to get away with anything!
A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
THEY DO NOT PAY YOU ANY OF THE MONEY THEY COLLECT FROM YOUR DEBTORS, THEY KEEP IT ALL FOR THEMSELVES!
Diabolical
Diabolical. As per everyone else, they have collected the debt but not passed it on. I am in court with them in March 2026. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has been successful in court.
Update: They paid up before we went to court. For anyone else in this situation, keep going. It worked for me, and I hope it will work for you. They've also just asked Trustpilot for more information about my review and if I didn't reply they were going to remove it...you could not make this up. No Are You Owed Money I won't be quiet. Yes, my experience was real. You must be stopped.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM
I supidly handed this company a debt for over a £ 1,000 to chase that was in 2023 Although I know they have been paid in full they have not paid me a penny. I have a court date coming up where I will win a County Court Judgemen and I will follow up on my promise and send the baliffs in
I asked AYOM to collect over £20,000…
I asked AYOM to collect over £20,000 for a business I sold and got a contract signed on. I have been advised that the people (whom I thought I knew) do not own anything and they only rent properties never buying. Are you owed money said they would recover my money this was on 10/8/2023 and since have only added to the debt by charging for something that I’d already paid for. I can’t take back my old company due to ill health and a solicitor has said that taking the people to court who owed me money would only cost me and the only person who would make anything would be the solicitor. I’m owed over £30,000 for selling my business Wyre Airport Cars to someone I thought I could trust. AYOM are a waste of time do not fall for their scam
Ayom Debt Recovery - Warning
Ayom successfully collected a significant debt for me in January 2025, but some 12 months later have not released the funds to me despite numerous emails to Customer Services and Zoe Pelham, the Operations Director, as well as lodging a formal complaint. No response was received to any communication. In the absence of any response, I drove in December to the address shown on their website and Companies House, only to find that they had left some three months before due to rent owing. However, Susan Taylor in the new business team in January 2026 assured me that this was their trading address...
It would seem that the company has no intention of paying the monies to me. I have very serious concerns about this company and their understanding of their obligations to their customers. I would strongly recommend not using this company in light of the very considerable risk of non-payment.

This debt collection agency is a complete waste of time they call you up many times to get your business then promise you that you'll get your debt back. Bunch of crooks that deliver a second rated service I provided all the relevant information and even traced the debtor with no results I was told to pay £60 to trace two cars that were outside the debtors premise it's now been 3 months and I haven't heard back. BEWARE THESE PEOPLE ARE ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY. This case is still going on and has now been 9 months they don't reply back to emails as well!!!!
Scammers Avoid
I used AYOM (Are You Owed Money Ltd) to recover a business debt earlier this year. The debtor paid by Faster Payments in June last year. AYOM did not pass on the remaining balance to my company.
I chased them multiple times over several months. All messages were ignored and no payment was made to me. In the end, I had no choice but to start a County Court claim just to recover money that was already paid.
The experience was stressful and time-consuming, and communication was very poor once they had the money.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
I was contacted by Are You Owed Money…
I was contacted by Are You Owed Money Ltd regarding a debt that does not belong to me. The letter named someone I do not know, and when I tried to resolve the mistake, the experience became extremely distressing.
During a phone call, I was spoken to in an accusatory and dismissive way and told things that were not true, including claims that I had previously spoken to them and set up a direct debit, which I had not. I found the conversation upsetting and intimidating.
I subsequently submitted a Subject Access Request to understand what personal data they hold about me and why I was contacted. More than one month has passed and I have received no response.
Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about data accuracy, professionalism, and how personal information is handled
Trade also as Ayom Debt Recovery
Trade also as Ayom Debt Recovery. I used a website that searches for debt recovery agencies and refers them. Suzanne Taylor from Ayom rang me several times and emailed me. I got a further call from her on 3 December and it sounded all very transparent. If they recover nothing you pay nothing. They take 15% plus VAT. She sent me a link to log my details on a portal. After I did this, I decided to look at reviews for the Company and found that the feedback was very poor. They appear to be totally unregulated with many people advising that they never received the collected amounts. I then directly cancelled via email. I sent three emails and tried to close the account online but it would not allow me to do so. So within a few hours of opening the case I contacted to advise I did not wish to pursue the debt with them. Suzanne rang me this morning and advised I would have to pay them £125. This is apparently the money they have lost in not retrieving the debt??? They have done zero work. They have made no attempt to recover the debt. I cancelled a few hours after speaking to them.
I allegedly owe them £125 for just accepting a phone call and allowing them to hoodwink me for a couple of hours.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I intend to report them to the Trading Standards office as this is very sharp practice and should not be permitted.
Scammers - They keep the money to themselves.
Collected money, and never paid. Been 8 months since they received the payment. Will be taking this over to court next. Avoid, look at all reviews before going through Ayom Recovery.
Dreadful communication
Dreadful communication. we were advised over 6 months ago that they had collected the funds. Now that the holding period is up, there is no way of discussing receiving the funds, other than emailing an address in finance which does not respond
Avoid if you want your money
I was owed over £3,000 through my Ltd - they were very prompt to take the case on. My debtor agreed a payment plan. The money was paid via Faster Payments over a 6 month period. AYOM then stated it would take 120 days for me to receive the payment due to the debtor being able to claw back the money from their bank... It's a well known fact - confirmed with the bank my debtor uses that Faster Payments cannot be claimed back unless it's proven the payment is fraudulent. I sent them the proof of this... no response... over 120 days later... no response... no sight of payment. I sent them a notice to take legal action... no response. See you guys in the small claims court. It seems they operate two website AYOM.co.uk and areyouowedmoney.co.uk. I discovered them through the former. Reading some of these reviews is scary. Avoid working with this company.
Scam
They have good script to take you as client and even can easily take money from clients but now they holding our money from almost 10 months .
No further communication, each and every member has no answer about how to contact finance team.
So basically they don't want to pay clients once they collect debt.
I'm taking legal actions on them very soon .
And will report them on media with evidence.
FAO finance team: Respond to email and pay what I am owed please
Dear finance team,
I would like to ask whether you are going to answer my query sent to you by email a month ago, or pay me what I am owed as collected over the last 18 months.
Or do I need to escalate this situation through another debt collection service? Since you owe me money and have not paid it.
I am currently working with another agency and can easily ask whether they would like the chance to collect from their competitor.
Please respond before the end of this month with a plan.
Kind regards,
