There assessors are limited and they…

There assessors are limited and they are very overpriced with replacements. I would stick with rac even if they are a bit more expensive at least you know they have more assessment places to go for and they aren't extremely overpriced with fixing your car. Worst mistake I did was change to Aimee. My son had.the same issues his 32 grand car got written off for 12 grand worth of damages and they wouldn't let him buy the car back to get fixed somewhere else. Don't go with them they are not worth your money

Ami cancelled my policy in error- when…

Ami cancelled my policy in error- when tried to reinstate they said they can do it no problem but with new valuations as the old insurance had been cancelled- 😡- the new cost is more that 10% more- it was their fault! Please avoid them at all cost! They are closer to a scam than an insurance company

My old car was damaged in the floods…

My old car was damaged in the floods last year and when I got my new vehicle I was told if I kept the plan with my mother's account I could continue to get the same benefits from my old plan. However that never happened and they also cancelled my mother's car insurance by mistake so we lost our discount. The customer service sounds offshore and only knows to repeat sentences like a robot. Really poor experience.

after 30-year has been with AAmi Insurance having multiple policies, and no claims for 30 years rated gold customer, each policy has increased by approximately $1000 a year, when I asked a senior lady member from AAmi replied we are not the cheapest, I requested a quotes from GIO Insurance and past them to AAMI to check it she stated they are our sister company I am about to cancel my 6 policies with AAmi and move to GIO I suggest the ACCC should investigate AAMI insurance for ripping off customers especially disable vulnerable people.

Awful Helpdesk

We have been AMI customers for twenty years. Have recently made a couple of calls to the helpdesk center and it has been a complete nightmare, taking over an hour just to sort out simple details. I don't know where the support center is, but communication issues, lack of training of staff etc make them unbearable to deal with. I'll be shopping around for a new insurance company.

Terrible Service

Terrible Service. I purchased a policy when i hit a deer and the windshield wasn't covered under my auto policy. I thought this was a great investment because my windshield is $1500 to replace. When i finally did have to make a claim i found out i was only eligible for the aftermarket windshield that costs $500. I have paid more than double for the policy then the glass costs! RIP OFF

If I could give a rating of ZERO I…

If I could give a rating of ZERO I would. I logged a house/Contents claim following the AMI process and assessor, provided all the relevant documents and expected a result or solution. I recieved no response from AMI or the assessor about the outcome of the claim. I called AMI a month after the claim was assessed and the phone consulted informed me the claim has been closed. The call took an average of 1hr and 30min to speak with someone, only to be put back on hold until someone else to answer. When I was transferred back to the original phone consultant he started laughing and thought the whole ordeal was such a joke. I then waited another 40min for someone to finally explain that they recieved the report from the assessor not long after I logged the claim and deemed it uninsurable, however did not notify the policy owner (me). Ami informed me over the phone that the assessor should have notified me of the claim result however I don't understand how that entity is responsible for that when they are independents to AMI. I would have expected AMI to inform the person who pays for their service.
Despite the claim not been approved, AMI service to their consumers were outright disgusting, not being informed, being laughed at while being transferred between operators is appalling. Always remember without consumers AMI would not exist so treat them with the respect that they put food on your table.

The first call was about two weeks ago

The first call was about two weeks ago, and the CSR assured me that she would charge me for a new policy and fix my direct debit for my old car. The second call was yesterday after I found that I ultimately got charged a different amount and received an overdue text for a payment. The second CSR said it's not her problem that she can't find my old policy. She did not understand or try to solve the problem, was very rude, and had poor communication skills; she hung up the phone when I asked to speak to a manager and asked what her name was. The second SCR also advised that they couldn't transfer calls to managers before she hung up. Third, CSR found the policy easy, but she didn't understand why I got charged the specific amount and how to fix it. However, it was straightforward for her to transfer my call to her manager. Are you surprised if I tell you that the manager did understand just a bit more??? It felt like she was not supposed to take it seriously that the SCR hung up the phone on me. She also said the first CSR did not charge me, but she can charge me now; you asked what's happening with the other amount I paid. She couldn't change it, so I spent more until l my old car sold. In general, it feels like they are all based in the Philippines and have a problem with communicating or understanding NZ culture, well they might get paid low, and I am sorry, I do expect more for AMI - I am not a KIWI born, but I know kiwis 17 years - learn more before you trying sale us!

I have been a customer with Ami for…

I have been a customer with Ami for over 20 years but recently had an automatic payment bounce twice which I understand is my fault but after making the payment promoted by a friendly reminder text have been notified because of late payment the policy is canceled. No warning just suddenly not insured. I understand they had tried to email but they were not received. And 1 missed call with no message is all they could bother doing. I do not recommend it. They have made my week extremely stressful!!

Great customer service, quick processing

After a leaking drink bottle in a school bag destroyed a near new Macbook, I'm so pleased with AMI's customer service and quick result. I phoned on the weekend and was able to get clear information about what was required, a claim was started and I received an email immediately that I could reply to with the damage report once completed. I sent through the damage report on Monday at lunchtime and by Tuesday afternoon was able to go in store to collect the new Macbook. Relieved to have such quick turn around for a student needing a device for NCEA assessment.

Great if you want the feeling of being in the Phillipines

Spent a hour on the phone to the Philippines to someone that is so hard to understand and then did not send the policy through correctly- probably due to the language barrier. forced policy sign up via phone because otherwise I would have to spend another hour spelling out everything A for alpha, b for boat, d for d!ckheads if I just had the quote sent and wanted to sign up after reviewing. Just a sh!t show of a company

I’m so glad and grateful that i have insurance with AMI. Their service is super fast and their customer service when picking up calls is very good and friendly. I have a Nissan Leaf electric car and first time i had a flat tire one evening so i called them. It took me only 1hr max to wait for the tow truck to tow my car to my house and they came the next morning and tow it to the tyre shop. Second time i had a flat battery on a motorway and the battery was totally flat. I called them as well and they send a truck from the Curlys Salvage 24hr Tow Company to tow my car to the charging station with an hr. The man and woman from the tow company were so good and have so much patience with my car and we made it to the charging station and they were still there to make sure the charger was working to charge my car before they leave. I’m so blessed and thankful for these people with their help and good service. I highly recommend having insurance with AMI and you’ll get connected with these tow companies with good people and good customer service.

4 weeks just to approve my claim

I drove over a pothole and cracked my cars wheel. Made a claim with them and it took over 4 weeks to have it approved. I called every second day to follow up on what’s happening and all they could tell me is they were waiting on it to be approved. 4 weeks of waiting and I only just find out now the wheel has to come from Germany which is an additional 4 weeks wait. Total of 8 weeks this car has been off the road. I would have had the wheel in the time they took to approve the claim if they had approved it when the claim was made. All they could say is they followed their protocol and didn’t have any reason for the delay even though they told kept telling me it takes between 2-5 working days to have a claim approved. This is my second claim with them, my first claim was my TV and even that took three weeks to get replaced. Absolutely useless, the bunch of them
