Another shambolic loan company saying a loan has been approved, making me sign a contract, then checking my bank account and instantly declining me. Surely do that first before approving and sending a contract.
Also grammatical errors in their emails, which makes me feel they are a dodgy company. Who can't use a spell/grammar check in this day and age?
I don't know why they're called 1 plus 1 loans, but I have to assume it's the IQ of all their staff added together or the number of brain cells they all have!
I'd rather they be honest and say 'computer says no' in the beginning. I'm now worried as they've accessed my bank accounts. Yet there is no apology, nothing. Disgusting.

Absolute joke of a company...total time wasters....avoid!!. I aked for a guarantor loan to get rid of my debts thats costing me over £600 a month to stand still..the loan was going to cost me £245 per month. I'm not behind on any payments with my debts either all up to date. My guarantor is working and owns their own home (no mortgage) and has a good credit file.
I asked for the loan to get rid of my debt once and for all and showed them all my creditors and balances.
It's took them 3 full days to then come back with a pre written email stating that my application had been declined as they have considered my outgoings too high...after 3 full days!! They wouldn't be as I can clearly afford the loan and would then be £400 better off per month. Total time wasters with a motto that sounds good but is obviously just a sound bite. If I could give them less than 1 star I would...absolute charlatans!!!

How do you send an approved email and then make me sign approved documents only to come back after i have chased you for update to say disapproved / declined
If you are not willing to approve the request, then don't in the first instance.

So to start I just want to say that i am not remotely annoyed about being declined. I had read other reviews and I was realistic in my approach to the company having a less than perfect credit history. But I believe that honest reviews of real experiences are extremely essential to both parties so I was compelled to write one. Whilst I knew that my credit score is poor, my guarantor conversely has an excellent score and very good credit history. I applied on the off chance and got told I was eligible for a guarantor loan. I was going to leave it until I saw from my Clear Score report that there was already a hard search added so I thought I might as well continue. It takes a lot for us to approach someone to be a guarantor for you. But when you know someone well you only ask when they can trust you. That's the biggest issue I think this company should learn from. My guarantor went through the hoops with the paperwork but an It glitch on 1plus1's end meant she had difficulty adding the online banking consent. We emailed 3 times asking for them to reset the link or advise next steps. No response until I received a call tgat I was declined. 5 minutes later I get an email response from the It team to say they have reset my guarantors account and she should try again. So basically that tells me the company had already made a decision regardless of my guarantors position and agreement. I think this pretty much echoes other reviews I have read. I believe that unless your rating is a bit more on the medium risk level rather high you will be declined in spite of having a guarantor. I think that's a shabby approach and false advertising as it makes you approach someone and swallow your pride when that's unnecessary in the end.
I hope that the company does take reviews seriously in an attempt to amend their practices or at least their messaging to consumers

Applied for loan went through application process knowing myself I can afford repayments comfortably back n forth on telephone calls answered questions asked only to be declined,?? What a total waste of time and effort if you were going to decline why not say straight away after going through banking information instead of interrogation which it felt like with the application over the phone and also giving out false hope that application would be accepted I would not recommend to anyone looking to secure finance from this company go elsewhere 😡

Not much communication and website has a lot of glitches. Spoke to the service team and they advised persistent technical problems on the website. Would be better to have more open communication with direct yes or no answers rather than dragging on for weeks before contacting you. Lot's of guarantor issues aswell that are off-putting for the most credit worthy guarantors. I would use this as an absolute last resort if nothing else is remotely possible.

Wasted my time by taking a week for my application - sending them my documents, 15 minute calls to go through a “verbal contract” wasted my guarantors time doing the same .. all to get rejected.
Unsure why they put you through this just to reject you. If you’re checking my banks and affordability in the beginning then tell me I’m rejected straight away instead of dragging the process out.
When I took the original loan out they were OK in setting it up but 2years later they have rejected me twice for a top up loan quoting internal policy changes despite me meeting all the criteria but they put a hard search on my credit file which has now reacted a negative impact .
